
Yoga Nidra - Trust the Process

As we become aware of deep-seated thought patterns that no longer serve us, we can feel overwhelmed and doubtful that we will ever be free of them. Yoga Nidra helps to transform our core beliefs by giving us access to the subconscious mind where those underlying beliefs reside. After consistent practice, we discover that the more we connect with our True Nature, the more naturally the fear-based beliefs begin to fall away and are replaced by beliefs born of love. We learn to trust the process.

A theme that has come back again and again in my life is to trust the process.
So many times I encounter doubt,
Fear of the unknown,
Parts of myself that are difficult to face.
And so many times I'm reminded to just trust the process,
Knowing that everything is happening in its own time.
And the more I seek the truth,
The more I turn towards the truth of who I am and open up to discovering the purpose that I have here on this earth,
The clearer it becomes.
Yes,
There are times of darkness,
There are times of waiting,
And that too is part of the process.
As I look back on my life and the journey that I've gone through,
I have the faith,
Looking back and seeing the results of turning towards the truth,
Of turning towards love in the midst of doubt,
Fear,
In the midst of a world that sometimes makes no sense to me,
Sometimes gives me a sense of discontent,
Concern,
Worry.
I turn towards what I know to be true and everlasting.
As you begin your journey in this moment,
For we can always begin now,
No matter where we are on our journey,
We can begin again in each moment.
Each moment is fresh and new,
An opportunity to reset,
To restore,
To regroup,
To choose which direction we want to take with our lives,
Discovering our purpose individually and collectively along the way.
And so as you begin this stage of your journey,
As you begin this meditation in this moment,
Take a moment to check in and just maybe reflect upon all that has brought you here to this moment,
All that you've experienced in your life,
The doubts,
The fears,
The joys,
The sorrows,
The loneliness,
The connection.
Take a moment to reflect,
Welcoming yourself just as you are in this moment,
An opening to all that you have to experience,
To learn as you move forward,
As you take each step of your path,
Awakening to your true nature,
Welcoming this present moment as you sense your body right now in this space,
Noticing every point of contact where your body is touching the surface that is holding you,
Supporting you,
Allowing your body to relax into this space,
To yield to the supports,
To trust that you are being held in love,
Confirming the sensations,
Coolness,
Warmth,
The touch of air on your skin,
The touch of the fabric,
Noticing every sensation that you feel on the skin,
On the surface of your body,
The backside,
The front side,
Left side,
And right,
Sensing beyond the body to the space around it,
Above and below,
Behind,
Out in front,
Welcoming everything just as it is,
Noticing images,
Colors,
Shapes,
Anything you might see even if the eyes are closed,
Allowing everything to be just as it is without trying to change or alter your experience in any way,
Simply observing and welcoming,
Noticing smells,
Tastes lingering in the mouth,
And sounds,
Sounds outside the room,
Sounds inside the room,
Sounds within your body,
Listening to every sensation,
Every vibration,
As you rest here,
Fully alive and present in the unfolding of moment to moment,
This is your experience,
Your life,
Your journey,
Your course to choose,
Sensing the breath as it flows freely through your body in its own rhythm,
And noticing how the breath takes care of itself,
How there's nothing you need to do but simply allow your body to be breathed,
Noticing the sensations of the breath flowing through your body,
Naturally,
Effortlessly,
And while there is nothing that you need to do and the breath simply takes care of itself,
Noticing how also you are able to change the effects of your breathing,
How you are able to shorten and lengthen the breath,
How are you able to pause and hold the breath and to release,
You are able to change the breath and in turn change the experience of the body,
Mind,
So make it be taking some time to lengthen the exhale,
Maybe counting the inhale to four and the exhale to seven,
In two,
Three,
Four,
Out two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
In two,
Three,
Four,
Out two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
It's breathing in your own way,
In your own rhythm,
Inviting the exhale to lengthen to be a little bit longer than the inhale and noticing the effects of breathing in this way,
In your body,
Mind,
The whole of your experience,
Continuing to breathe in this manner and notice the effects,
Noticing how it feels,
The sensations in the body,
The thoughts that arise,
Welcoming each inhale and with each exhale,
Letting go of all that does not serve you in this moment,
Fully present,
Fully awake,
Fully alert to each moment,
To each breath,
Opening,
Welcoming,
As you gently draw your attention to the center of your heart,
Sensing the breath expanding in the heart,
Expanding and releasing,
Breathing through the center of your heart,
As you open to your heart's deepest desire,
Your heart's calling in this moment.
What is it that your heart is calling for you to be or do in this moment?
Let it rise up and announce itself to you,
Noticing,
Welcoming.
Perhaps your heart's desire arises in a felt sense in your body and perhaps a word or words arise or an image,
Welcoming whatever arises that is guiding you to your true nature,
That is guiding you on your journey.
Imagine welcoming your heart's calling,
Responding by holding space for it to be just as it is,
To feel it as a felt sense in your body or to affirm it in words,
Welcoming,
Affirming your heart's desire just as it is in this moment,
Holding the image in your mind if one arises.
And if words arise,
Then perhaps affirming your heart's desire in a statement in the present tense as truth,
Such as,
I am peace itself in this and every moment,
Or I am healthy,
Whole and complete.
I am calm,
I am at ease,
Affirming your own heart's desire in your words as you welcome it to be true in this moment,
Even if there are doubts,
Even if thoughts come in and say,
No,
That is not true.
Welcome it anyway,
Affirm it anyway as truth deep within the center of your heart,
As a reality that is deeper than those surface beliefs.
And trust that the more you affirm your heart's desire,
The clearer it will become to you.
And you will start to see it manifesting in your life.
You will begin to trust more and more in the process,
In the unfolding.
You will sense the inner guidance beginning to go with the flow of life,
Welcoming yourself in this moment just as you are.
Feeling the unfolding of moment to moment as you open to a sense of being completely at ease,
Secure,
Grounded,
Relaxed,
And at ease as you welcome your body as pure sensation.
Welcoming the whole body as one unified field of sensation.
As we begin to take a journey throughout the sensations of the body,
See if you can feel your way.
Sense your way as each part is named,
Welcoming sensations in the space between the eyebrows,
The space behind the eyes,
The back of the nose,
The back of the mouth,
The throat,
The space between the collarbones,
Pure sensation in the right shoulder,
Elbow,
Wrist,
Sensing the tip of the right thumb,
Tip of the index finger,
Tip of the middle finger,
Tip of the ring finger,
Tip of the little finger,
All the fingers on the right hand,
The back of the hand,
Palm of the hand,
Forearm,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
The space between the collarbones,
Sensing the left shoulder,
Elbow,
Wrist,
The tip of the left thumb,
Tip of the index finger,
Tip of the middle finger,
Tip of the ring finger,
Tip of the pinky finger,
All the fingers on the left hand,
Back of the hand,
Palm of the hand,
Forearm,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
The hollow between the collarbones,
Sensing the center of the heart,
The heart's deep core,
The navel,
The center of the pelvis,
Right hip,
Right knee,
Ankle,
The tip of the right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
All the toes on the right foot,
Bottom of the foot,
Top of the foot,
Lower leg,
Upper leg,
Right hip,
Left hip,
Left knee,
Left ankle,
Tip of the left big toe,
Second toe,

All the toes on the left foot,
Top of the foot,

Sensing both legs together,
Torso,
Arms,
Neck,
Head,
The whole body together,
Sensing the whole backside of the body,
The whole front side of the body,
Left side,
Right side,
The whole body together,
The whole body as one unified field of sensation,
The whole body together,
Pure life energy flowing freely throughout the entire body,
Expanding on the inhale,
Releasing on the exhale,
Welcoming every inhale and with every exhale,
Letting go of all that no longer serves you in this moment.
Awake and alert,
Welcoming the fullness of being alive in this moment,
In this moment,
In every moment as breath continues to flow in its own rhythm.
And welcoming sensations of heaviness in the body.
As the body rests,
Sense the heaviness,
The bones heavy at rest,
The muscles relaxed and soft.
Notice where you feel heaviness in the body.
Heaviness with each exhale,
Sensing the body becoming heavier and heavier.
And welcoming the lightness in the body,
The expansion,
The lightness as the body seems to be lifted up by the inhale,
Becoming lighter and lighter,
Noticing where you feel lightness in the body.
Sensing the heaviness and the lightness shifting at your own rhythm between heaviness and lightness.
Notice now welcoming both heaviness and lightness simultaneously,
Noting the effects of this on the body,
Mind.
As you sense yourself as the one who feels every sensation of heaviness and lightness,
Of coolness,
Of warmth,
Every sensation that flows freely through your body,
You feel and are affected by each one.
And at the same time,
You might feel back and sense yourself as the observer,
The witness to this experience,
The one who is able to watch and observe the comings and goings of sensations,
The one who is able to shift attention from one sensation to another.
Feeling yourself as the witness,
The observer,
Feeling back into pure awareness itself,
Pure being,
Expansive,
Unchanging awareness in which everything is coming and going,
Every sensation flowing in its own rhythm,
Every emotion as pure sensation flowing in its own rhythm.
Every thought flowing in its own rhythm as you feel back into being spacious,
Unchanging awareness,
Ever expansive,
Open,
Being at one with all of life.
At one with life itself.
And awakening to a spontaneous joy,
Pure joy,
Bliss,
Peace,
Welcoming any and all images that evoke a deep sense of joy within you.
As you feel the sensations of joy rising up in your body,
Notice where and how you feel this pure joy.
Welcome.
Pure joy as it flows freely throughout your body.
And if joy does not naturally arise,
That's okay.
Trust that it will in time,
For it springs from within you.
It is always there under the surface waiting to arise,
Trusting in the process of awakening,
Of becoming your true nature.
Light and whole in this moment.
At one with life itself.
As this practice of yoga nidra comes to a close,
Sense yourself in this space.
Sense your body,
The boundaries of your body,
The touch of the air on your skin.
From the intention or the heartfelt desire that you set at the beginning of this practice.
Affirming it once again in the present tense as truth.
Feeling it a few times along with the breath as you begin to welcome gentle movements in the fingers and toes.
Sense your heartfelt desire guiding each movement as you honor your journey,
As you honor yourself in each moment.
Releasing your way back,
Taking your time in each moment,
Trusting the process that is unfolding and guiding you in your true nature.
As this practice of yoga nidra comes to a close,
Sense yourself in this space.
