Hello and welcome to this lonely hearts meditation.
Loneliness is a feeling no one wants to experience and yet regardless of whether we're alone or with people it's something that many of us experience often.
But today I would love to offer a guided meditation that can help shift your perspective from the feelings of sadness,
Darkness that loneliness can bring and see if we can shift them to love and light.
I'd love to invite you to start by bringing your awareness to your heart,
Noticing how it feels to feel lonely,
But invite you to meet these feelings with a curiosity rather than judgment,
Letting go of reasons why you might feel lonely or thoughts of I should or shouldn't feel this way.
But invite you to explore,
To just think for a moment about why you're feeling lonely.
Again there's no right or wrong reasons,
We're just meeting them with curiosity,
With awareness.
Just imagine like you're making a list in your mind,
This is why I'm feeling lonely or maybe it's this or I know it's because of that,
Just an awareness.
Then I'd love to invite you to consider the question,
Is it possible to be alone without feeling lonely?
I'd love to offer the suggestion that you can feel loved,
Comforted,
Appreciated,
Seen by yourself.
Those feelings of love and acceptance really at the end of the day have to come from you to fully feel that love.
No matter how much or how many times someone else tells you,
You'll only believe it when it comes from within you,
From your higher power,
From being connected to the love that exists for you no matter what.
I'd love to invite you to be open to feeling that love right now.
Go ahead and take one or two hands and place them on your chest.
Feel that connection,
That warmth from your hand to your chest.
Take a deep breath here and let it out slowly.
Imagine yourself surrounded by light and love.
Imagine what would it be like to be completely surrounded,
Floating in,
Engulfed by this love and light.
Whether you believe it or not,
You are loved.
Then if you'd like to try with me the affirmation.
So on your inhale,
Think I am and on your exhale,
Think loved.
See if on your next tell you can imagine breathing in that love.
And on your exhale,
Imagine that filling you,
Letting it distill down into your legs.
Take another deep breath in and on your exhale,
Imagine that love filling your arms.
And then on your last deep breath in,
Imagine that love going straight into your heart.
