Hello,
And welcome to our meditation today.
Thank you for taking time for stillness.
Stillness for your mind,
For your heart,
And for your body.
Let's start with taking a deep breath in through our nose if that's accessible for you.
And on your exhale,
Gently letting your mind,
Your heart,
And your body relax.
I'd like to invite you to imagine that you're looking up at the clouds in the sky.
See if you can imagine the clouds gently moving,
Just expanding slowly,
Maybe subtly shifting shape,
Just noticing the expansiveness,
The lightness.
I'd like to invite us to use this image in our meditation today as we practice giving space for what is.
I invite you to bring to mind some of the things that are in your life right now,
But just invite you to think of them from a place of presence,
Letting go of judgment,
Not attaching any feelings or emotions to what is in your life right now,
But just like you observed the clouds,
Invite you to give space for what is.
Maybe there's a certain challenge,
Maybe certain relationships,
But just invite you to observe them in front of you from the perspective of it is what it is right now.
Maybe it's that I wish I had more time to do everything on my list,
But it is what it is right now.
This is the stage of life I'm in,
Maybe there's a challenging relationship,
But it is what it is right now.
I'll just give you a little bit more space to just again acknowledge,
Allow what is in your life right now to just be.
You can even use that phrase after each thing you notice,
It is what it is.
I'd like to invite you to consider this quote from Viktor E.
Frenkel,
Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
I'd like to invite you to imagine the space between you and those things in your life right now,
And then invite you to choose what emotion you want to fill that space with.
What do you need right now to respond to those things in your life the way you want to respond?
Just see if you can settle in on one word,
Maybe it's hope,
Trust,
Perspective,
Love.
Just invite you to focus in on one word that you need right now,
And then again bring those beautiful clouds to mind,
And as you inhale,
Imagine filling yourself with breath,
And as you exhale,
Imagine like those clouds,
That breath swirling within you,
Ever so gently,
Expanding the space within you.
On your next inhale,
You can imagine breathing in that word of what you need right now,
And on your exhale,
Imagine that expanding,
Filling the space within you.
Invite you to use that visual for a few more breaths,
Breathing in what you need,
And on your exhale,
Imagine that expanding and filling the space within you.
Invite you,
As you move through your day,
To remember the power of space.
Bring in what you need,
Allow what is to be.
If you'd like,
Take one last deep breath in to seal today's practice.
Sending you love and gratitude,
Namaste.
