Welcome to this guided meditation,

And thank you for taking time for your mind,

Your heart,

And your body today.

As you settle into a comfortable position,

I invite you to gently let your eyes close.

Take a deep breath in.

Bring your attention and awareness to this present moment.

I'd like to invite you to bring to mind a circumstance in your life.

Something that you're going through,

Or maybe it's something that's a regular occurrence.

Just invite you to bring to mind something that's happening in your life right now.

And see if you can imagine it out in front of you,

Almost like it's on a table or across the street,

Just so you can see that circumstance in front of you.

And notice the thoughts and feelings that come up as you think about this circumstance.

Just focus in.

And then I'd like to invite you to consider this thought,

That the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives,

And everything to do with the focus of our lives.

Now I'd like to invite you,

As you again focus on that circumstance that's in your life,

To see if you can find something you're grateful for about that circumstance.

If that feels hard,

If that feels impossible,

That's okay,

You're normal.

But see if you can push your mind to find something,

Even if it's super small,

That you're grateful for about this circumstance.

Maybe it's someone you wouldn't have met if that wouldn't have happened.

Maybe it's something you wouldn't have learned or experienced.

Again,

I challenge you to push your mind to find something you're grateful for about this circumstance.

Now,

Do you think you could find something else to be grateful for in this circumstance?

William Arthur Ward said,

Gratitude is the energy of faith.

Gratitude can help shift our perspective,

Can move us from scarcity to abundance,

Can move us from self-pity to self-compassion.

It can help us see things in a new light.

So I'd like to give you a little bit of space to practice gratitude again,

By bringing a different circumstance to mind,

Something else that's happening in your life right now.

And similarly,

Visualize it out in front of you,

Focusing in on what you're feeling,

What you're thinking about that circumstance,

And then see if you can find something you're grateful for within that circumstance.

This is a practice you can use any time you feel overwhelmed or anxious or stressed with the circumstance in your life.

See if you can practice gratitude instead.

So I'd like to invite you to practice this affirmation as we close our meditation today.

I am grateful.

Let's try it with our breath three times.

As you inhale,

Think,

I am.

And as you exhale,

Think,

Grateful.

Again,

Inhale,

I am.

Exhale,

Grateful.

One more,

Inhale,

I am.

I am grateful.

Gratitude is the energy of faith.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation today.

I send you love and gratitude.

Namaste.
