There are going to be times along the way of any creative project where you just can't seem to find your way back to your muse.
Losing your flow and getting stuck in the middle of your work can make you start to lose sight of what brought you to the work in the first place.
But you can reframe this detour into a repositioning of alignment and view it as a great opportunity.
If we give way to the anxious thoughts that creep in and throw us off the scent of our creative path,
We can then spiral into negative thinking,
Which makes it even harder to reconnect.
But it doesn't have to go this way.
Together we will practice a way of moving through this.
With a shift in your perspective,
We will help loosen the grip of this interruption and move you back into the direction of your inspiration.
Arriving at this stumbling block highlights that you are not yet where you want to be,
But consider that you are exactly where you need to be.
You may really desire this piece to appear a certain way and you just can't see it yet.
Maybe you're getting turned around in the idea that you started with and you can't make heads or tails of it anymore.
Let's not think so far ahead as to outcomes just yet,
As that only fuels the frustration.
Instead,
Notice where you feel this discord and locate where that physical tension has settled.
Maybe it's manifesting in tense shoulders or a tightness in your throat.
Wherever you feel it,
Offer relief to this area.
You can gently massage the tension away with your hands or stretch and release those muscles.
Do whatever feels right to release it.
Breathe into this space and let it go.
Settle back into your relaxed position.
And for now,
Give yourself permission to release any attachment to the outcome of this project.
Trust that it will find its way to the form it is meant to take in its own perfect timing.
Breathe in relaxation.
Breathe out expectation.
We recognize that detours and delays are a very natural part of the process.
Creating something from nothing is a discovery.
Every day in discovery is going to be different,
And today may just be one of those really stubborn days.
I want you to give yourself a bit of grace here.
This isn't a wrong turn.
This is the process.
Continue to breathe deeply into your heart,
Just in and out,
Finding a rhythm that feels full but not forced.
Feel the cadence of your breath becoming more and more soothing.
Release the weight of what you're carrying and make space here in your heart to show yourself kindness.
You are walking a creative path,
One that winds and turns.
Release any ideas of guilt or blame.
This isn't anything you've done or evidence of anything you lack.
You are sculpting and crafting and creating,
And you deserve compassion.
We honor that you are here,
Temporarily in this pause.
And know that with kindness and compassion,
Inspiration will revisit you again and again.
Remember that while you are being made to pause,
You also know what it is to feel free and open and completely dialed in.
You are along for this ride.
You are in the ebb and flow of creation.
Consider this temporary interlude as evidence that you are creating something wonderfully your own.
It's inevitable to reach this point when you are digging deeply into yourself.
This is a process of excavation.
You are mining into your heart,
Mind,
And soul,
And anyone who's done it knows that creative excavation is hard work.
Honor that you are in the good company of every artist that came before you,
All those with you now in these trenches,
And all that ever will be.
Feel proud that you are doing the work that you were called to create,
And celebrate the parts of you that you were laying bare to share with the world.
While you were here,
Recall a time when you were deeply in the flow and remember the feeling of that.
Take this moment to feel what that flow state was like,
With all of your heart and soul,
With all of your senses.
I invite you to welcome this pause as an opportunity.
You are being offered a moment to stop pushing,
To give yourself space and to allow something new to unfold.
This pause could be inspiration itself,
Asking you to give them a bit of room to lead you to your next breakthrough.
Serendipity can't come into play if we don't give her space.
Invite the muse back into your process,
Release your expectations and allow them to show you a way forward that you haven't yet considered.
This is when you can let go and let inspiration do the work that they do to bring you back into alignment.
Envision yourself receiving that spark of an idea while you're on a walk,
Or doing the dishes,
Or taking a shower.
It's in these moments when the stumbling blocks begin to crack open,
When you allow yourself the freedom to surrender to inspiration's direction,
The way through will appear.
Be patient with yourself.
Let yourself wander and stay open to receive the next bit of magic that is absolutely coming to find you.
