Sometimes we wake with the alarm, mind already racing with things to do, places to be and people who need us. With all that waits for your attention in the hours ahead, I invite you to gift yourself the very first minutes. Before you leap into your day, cue up this brief meditation to set a mindful pace for your day ahead. Together we will ground you with an intention to welcome this day at the pace that you desire.

If you are still nestled in the warmth of your bed,

Stay here for just a moment.

Give yourself these few minutes before you rise.

It's a whole new day out there,

Fresh and sparkly and still unwritten,

And it's not going anywhere.

It's all yours.

So take a deep breath,

Close your eyes,

And let's set an intention.

How do you want to move through this day?

Do you want to feel energized,

Motivated,

And easily productive,

Flying through that to-do list?

Which will wait for you,

By the way.

If it's already started tugging at your sleeve,

Tell it you'll be with it shortly,

And come back to your breath.

Maybe you want to feel inspired today,

All your senses awakened and ready to receive the whispers from the universe.

Maybe you simply want to feel grounded today,

Letting everything wash over you,

Surrendering to the ebb and flow of what the day brings.

Every day has to be filled to the brim.

Maybe today is the day you allow yourself space to simply be.

Whatever pace serves you today,

Choose it.

Set your intention to meet this day and all that it holds at the speed that you desire.

Focus on that pace and feel it in your body.

With this intention,

See yourself moving through this day.

Just for a minute,

Envision the day's events moving along with you at the speed you intend.

I'll watch the time,

You set the pace.

Take a deep breath,

Smile,

And welcome your day to begin.
