I will be guiding you to travel inward on this meditation.
We will start by making sure your body is comfortable.
If not,
Please pause and adjust.
Now we will take a series of counted breaths and go through a gentle body scan to prepare you to travel into the cave of your own heart.
Please remember,
If thoughts arise,
Just to recognize them and let them go the best that you can.
Take a deep breath on your own and then you will breathe within my count.
You will be taking an in-breath on the count of four,
Holding for four,
And then exhaling for four.
Go ahead and take a breath on your own and then we'll begin.
Inhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Inhale again,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Inhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Now let the counting go and let your breath just return to normal.
If you haven't already closed your eyes,
I encourage you to do so if you feel safe and comfortable.
We are going to be turning now to a gentle body scan to bring us into our own body.
Bring your mind's eye or imagination to your toes and allow them to relax.
Whatever that means,
Whatever you feel feels right.
It could be that you're going to tense the area I mentioned and then relax it.
You could be sending a light or a color.
You could be sending your breath there.
This is up to you.
Now from your toes,
Bring your attention to your feet and then your ankles.
Move up both legs,
Allowing them to relax and release tension.
Relax your pelvis,
Your belly,
And your chest.
Relax your back.
Allow both shoulders to relax and release any tension.
Let your arms grow heavy and release anything in your arms.
Release any gripping in your hands or fingers.
Try to relax your neck and throat.
Relax your jaw,
Your face muscles,
Your eyes.
Allow your head to feel heavy and take another deep breath on your own.
Now imagine at the center of your chest,
Where your heart space is,
Your heart chakra,
There is a light.
A light that is growing brighter and brighter.
It can be any color,
Any shape,
Any size.
You are going to be traveling to this light.
In your mind's eye,
You will go within your own self and find this light.
Take a breath.
I will count backwards from five and you will go towards your own inner light.
Five.
Four.
Getting closer.
Three.
Two.
The light is stronger.
One.
You are near the light.
And you see that the light is actually emitting from a cave.
This is your own inner cave.
The cave of your heart.
Take time to notice the outside of the cave.
How is it formed?
What is it made of?
What color is it?
How big is it?
Where is it located?
What is the shape of the opening?
Are there any animals or plants or beings nearby?
Be ready to enter your cave and meet your own inner light.
As you walk or float into the cave,
Take notice of what the cave is made of.
How big is it inside?
Are there any guides there to greet you?
Are there symbols on the cave walls?
Are there plants or animals or crystals?
What is the ground like?
As you walk,
You notice that the light is actually coming from a fire within the cave.
You are safe.
As you approach the fire,
You realize this is your own inner light.
Take a moment to tend to the fire.
Let it grow brighter and brighter.
Notice the flame.
Is it warm?
Is it cold?
What color is it?
How does it sparkle?
Know that you have tended your own flame,
Your own inner fire.
You are safe and you are guided.
This cave is your sacred space within yourself.
This is a place you can return to again and again for grounding or recharging,
Or even to meet guides or angels.
Take a moment to look around your cave once more and let the peace wash over you.
Begin to walk out of your cave,
Back to your entrance.
Now you are once again outside of the cave.
I will count backwards from five and you will be back in your body,
Back in your room.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Take a moment to take a deep breath.
As you close your eyes,
Try to remember everything you saw about your cave.
I suggest journaling about your experience.
And remember this is your cave,
So you may return here anytime you wish.
Namaste.
