Welcome to this autumn inspired meditation.
Today we will be focusing on letting go of that which no longer serves us.
If you have not already found a comfortable position,
Please do so now and when you get there take a nice deep breath.
Autumn is the time of year where the night is growing longer,
Encouraging us to go deeper within ourselves,
To explore the darker parts of our own lives and begin to examine what is no longer serving us.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
Imagine yourself in the middle of a forest.
In your mind's eye look around at the trees that surround you.
See that their leaves are changing colors and some of them have already fallen to the ground at your feet.
Take a moment to feel yourself among the trees.
Notice the sky,
Notice the ground,
Notice the light breeze that rustles the dry leaves.
As you look around you notice a small footpath between the trees.
Walk to this path and begin to follow it.
Notice the curves of the path and listen to the rattling of the trees.
The path leads you to a cave.
As you approach the cave you realize you are unafraid to enter the darkness and you quietly enter.
The cave is cool and dark.
Take a breath here and notice how quiet and safe it is.
It is here in this cave that you will find the four things in your life to let go of.
These things can be people,
People,
Or people.
The cave is a place where you can find the four things in your life to let go of.
These things can be people,
Activities,
Habits,
Or even four aspects of one thing in your life.
Take your time here in the cave to find the four things that are no longer serving you.
What things are no longer for your ability to be in your best interest?
What things are no longer for your best interest?
What things are weighing you down?
What things are holding you back?
Take time and think of your four things in your life to let go of.
Dig deep and be honest with yourself.
Once you have your four things,
Take a deep breath and ready yourself to leave the cave.
As you leave the cave,
You will easily find your footpath and this time as you walk,
It will take you to a large tree.
As you approach the tree,
You notice that it has bright red leaves.
The tree is beautiful,
Healthy,
And strong.
The tree is happy to help you on your journey.
Gently touch one of the tree's leaves.
Whisper,
Say,
Or think of the first thing in your life that you wish to let go of.
Tell it to the leaf.
Now,
Move on to another leaf.
Give this leaf the second thing that is no longer serving you.
Moving on to a third leaf.
Give it another thing that is no longer serving you.
Lastly,
Find another bright red leaf to give your final thing that you need to release.
Take a deep breath and thank the tree.
Know that in time,
The beautiful red leaves will fall to the ground and with the falling leaves,
You will be released of what is no longer serving you.
Take a deep breath and begin to return to your body.
Notice your feet,
Your legs,
Your torso and back.
Notice your fingers,
Hands,
Arms,
Your neck,
Your face.
Be in your body.
Notice the earth beneath you and really feel your next breath.
Begin to tune into the sounds around you and slowly open your eyes.
Namaste.
