My name is Jen Pond and I'm so glad you are here joining me for this really simple and soothing breath exercise.
I hope you enjoy.
And we'll begin by making our way into a comfortable seated position.
Gently closing your eyes and just making any adjustments you need in order to find that perfect balance of relaxation and awareness.
Dropping the shoulders away from the neck,
Lengthening through the spine.
Maybe feeling your body connect to the surface below.
Sensing it hold you and support you.
Taking a deep cleansing breath in through the nose and sighing it all out the mouth.
Again breathing deeply filling the lungs and the belly.
And slowly letting it go.
One more time inhale feeling the body expand.
And exhale feeling the body relax.
Just allowing your breath to return to its natural pace and rhythm.
Noticing how it effortlessly flows in and out of the body.
Doing all the work for you.
Just focusing on expanding as you breathe in and relaxing as you breathe out.
Now starting to make your breath a little longer.
Lengthening each inhale all the way to the top.
And releasing each exhale all the way to the bottom.
Making sure every last drop of air is being released.
And as you breathe in and out,
Imagining savoring each breath.
Making it last a little longer like you would the taste of something sweet in your mouth.
Relaxing as you breathe in.
Relaxing as you breathe out.
Now focus on adding in the quality of smoothness to the breath.
Allowing the breath to have a smoother sound,
Smoother feel,
Smoother movement.
Maybe imagining rounding out the edges of the breath.
So much so that it's like each inhale effortlessly flows into the exhale.
They are one complete breath with no beginning and no end.
And just continuing to stay here with longer and smoother breath.
Allowing the mind and body to simply relax,
Breathe and be.
Relaxing as you breathe in.
Relaxing as you breathe out.
Now inviting the quality of softness to your breath,
Allowing the breath itself to relax,
Release and soften.
Realizing that any tight areas of the breath begin to melt and flow with completies.
And as you rest here with longer,
Smoother and softer breath,
Start to bring some of that smoothness to areas of the body that feel tense or tight.
Bring some of that length to areas of the mind that feel stressed or strained.
Bring some of that softness to areas of the heart that feel hardened or closed.
And in these last few moments just imagining the breath relaxing the entire body.
Expanding as you breathe in.
Relaxing as you breathe out.
I hope you enjoyed this meditation.
Thank you so much for joining me.
