Wake up gently this morning with a few moments of stillness to really listen to yourself. You are your own most loyal companion, but how often do you actually listen to what your heart has to say? All you have to do is press play. Stay in bed. Listen. First, you'll listen to my voice and then you'll listen to yours.

Good morning.

I invite you to start to move your body just in a small simple way.

It might be by blinking your eyes open and closed,

Wiggling your fingers,

Maybe you point and flex your toes.

Let these small movements ripple into creating slightly larger movements that take just a little more effort.

Bend and straighten your elbows,

Rock your head side to side,

Then open your arms up wide like a big starfish on your bed.

Take a deep breath in and sigh it out.

Now bring your hands together and begin to rub your palms like you're trying to warm your hands over a fire.

You can rub them fast or slow,

The palms of your hands,

The backs of your hands.

Don't forget about your thumbs and your wrists.

Notice if you can start to feel some heat being generated between your hands.

Continue to rub and create that warmth,

That heat and energy.

Once your hands feel a little bit warmer,

Place your palms over your heart or your collarbones and feel the warmth that you created.

Imagine this healing warmth flowing from your hands through your skin to any part of your body that needs it.

Any part of your physical body that is tense or uncomfortable.

Any part of your emotional body that is anxious or overwhelmed.

Be open to the possibility that this warmth might swirl around your body,

Seeking out places of darkness,

Fear,

And pain.

Can you let go and let the warmth in?

Envision this warmth bringing fresh energy into your body.

As the warmth swirls and flows,

Let it create a sense of lightness and buoyancy.

Allow it to sew qualities of softness,

Radiance,

And acceptance.

Let your body and your mind become ripe for new possibilities.

Feel the warmth right under your hands,

Near your heart.

Ask yourself,

What is my heart's truest desire?

Or,

What do I need most right now?

For the next minute,

Listen to your heart's longings.

Consider that your answer may come as a word or phrase or as a feeling or image.

Be open to whatever you receive.

Listen.

With your heart's unique longing in mind,

Create a positive declaration.

Phrase it in the present tense as if it is already happening.

It may be something like,

I am loved and accepted,

Or I am stronger every day.

You're welcome to use one of these phrases or create your own.

Whatever phrase you've chosen,

Affirm it to yourself now by repeating it silently or out loud three times.

Now imagine tucking this affirmation away into your heart,

Just like a seed being planted in the soil.

Trust that warmth,

Tenderness,

And patience will bring your hopes to fruition.

No matter how small or fragile it seems now,

One day soon that small seed will push up through the dirt,

Burst through the ground,

And reach toward the light.

Every day is a new beginning filled with new possibilities.

The challenges of your past made you who you are today.

The challenges of today will determine who you become.

Rise up.

Take courage.

Inhale fully and deeply.

Sigh it out.

Begin to wiggle,

Sway,

Stretch,

And yawn.

Best wishes for a beautiful day.
