Good morning.
Setting an intention for your day is a beautiful ritual to help you find greater clarity of mind and meaning through all of your actions of your day.
First,
Make yourself comfortable.
You might want to gather up a pen and paper to write down any ideas that come to mind as you brainstorm how you're going to live your best day today.
Once you have found a comfortable seat,
Sit up tall and take a generous breath in.
As you release your breath,
Let your shoulders drop down.
Your eyes can be open or closed,
But just start to tune into your physical body.
Notice where you're sitting,
The texture of the surface underneath you,
The groundedness of your hips or your legs or your hands.
Feel the spaciousness of the air above and around you,
How there is more than enough room for you to breathe in deep,
To grow and expand.
Begin to visualize yourself at the end of your day today.
Picture yourself going through your nightly routines and then picture the very last moments of your day as you're lying in bed and shutting your eyes.
How do you hope to feel?
Multiple ideas might come to your mind right now,
But can you try to narrow it down to just one?
The one feeling that seems to rise above the rest as the most meaningful,
Important and valuable to you.
Using this one word,
Create an affirmation or a mantra in the present tense,
Such as,
I am at peace,
Or I have all that I need.
If you have a pen and paper handy,
Go ahead and write down this affirmation now.
Remember to phrase it in the present tense.
Let this mantra serve as your intention for your day,
So that as you're going about your day,
Working and playing and making choices,
You can use this mantra to evaluate the choices that you make.
Are these choices in alignment with what's most important to you?
Will this choice serve your best interest?
Does this choice further you along your path to feeling how you would like to feel when you close your eyes tonight?
Begin to brainstorm now three deliberate actions you can take today that will help create this reality.
As an idea comes to mind,
Write it down on your paper.
It doesn't have to be perfect and you're allowed to change your mind,
But let the ideas flow through you unfiltered.
Get them down on paper and you can edit later.
You can pause this track if you need more time to brainstorm ideas.
Otherwise,
Go ahead and review your list that you've come up with so far.
Circle three of your best ideas.
Make a commitment to yourself to try these actions today and see how they serve your purpose.
Now,
Set down your paper and pen.
Set up tall.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and release it with a sigh.
Recall your mantra,
Your short affirmative statement that will serve as your intention today.
Over your next three slow breaths,
Repeat this mantra to yourself one repetition for every breath.
Now open your eyes and prepare to meet your day with purpose,
Positivity,
And meaningful direction.
Thank you for joining me this morning.
Have a wonderful day.
