On this morning, Let there be light. Let there be light all through this body, Through this mind, This heart, These eyes. Let me breathe light. On this morning, As the days behind me lengthen and the days before me can be taken in one glance, Let me let light shine through all I do. Let me let light shine in each word I speak. Let me be light for others. All of our world on this day is filled with light, Light everywhere all at once. Let us be mindful always of this great gift of light in which we move. We who have come this far, Who have planned and worked and accomplished, We can lay down our labors and embody the light of the present moment. Our lives have passed so quickly, And now we are here. On this morning, The first morning of the last years of the rest of our lives, Let there be light, And let there be light each morning hereafter. We who have come from darkness now grow into the light.
