Hello,

Beautiful souls.

This is Barbara,

And welcome to an amazing night's sleep.

Thanks for being here for another in the series of Bedtime with Barbara,

Written by June Beat.

I have some errands to run in town,

So jump in the car with me and let's go get them done.

Let's begin.

So get in your favorite sleeping position,

Making sure you are comfortable.

Close your eyes.

Relax your muscles.

And slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.

Now let's go to your breathing.

Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Breath out.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Last time,

Breath in,

Breath out.

Settle in now,

Get comfortable.

Let go of everything that happened today and let's relax together.

Let yourself focus on my voice.

If your mind wanders,

It's okay,

Bring it back to the sound of my voice.

Keep your breathing slow and steady.

Let's go on our journey together.

So it is time for me to pick up a few things from town.

And I wanted to take you with me for the drive.

There is always something to get done,

In my household anyway.

And I tend to save them up and make one good trip out of it.

Getting out and about feels so good now.

I almost forgot how much we were indoors for all those months.

Getting out and amongst people is a lovely way to feel back to normal.

Or the new normal as they say now.

I know things are still difficult for many.

Even as I was a little nervous getting back out amongst the masses.

I went to the library a few weeks back.

And when entering the building,

A little nervousness started to build up.

Irrational really.

I mean,

You can be indoors and still get sick,

Right?

So going out is no prerequisite to illness.

So I took a deep breath and slowed down my breathing and my thoughts.

I talked to myself with many affirmations and I said,

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

I like to keep my affirmations positive and in the present.

Not it's going to be or I'm looking forward to it being.

Nah.

Always in the present tense because this is where I live in the here and the now.

Why don't we take a moment to do that right now before we jump in the car.

Slow down your breathing.

Take a breath in and out.

And repeat with me.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Take a breath in and out.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Take a breath in and out.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Final breath in and out.

Final breath in and out.

Now wasn't that a nice little break?

So on to these errands because they won't get done by themselves,

Right?

In the car now whipping down the road,

Window down and the sweet breeze blowing in my face.

I see all the other drivers passing and at the traffic lights and I wonder where they are going and what they're up to.

Reminds me of that song,

Driving Home for Christmas.

Some of the lyrics go like this,

Driving in my car,

I'm driving home for Christmas.

Driving home for Christmas with a thousand memories.

I take a look at the driver next to me.

He's just the same.

Just the same.

Top on toe and tail backs.

Oh,

I got red lights all around.

Huh,

I'm driving home for Christmas.

Yeah,

Get my feet on holy ground.

So I sing for you,

Though you can't hear me.

When I get through,

Oh and feel you near me.

Driving in my car,

Driving home for Christmas.

It is such a great song because it always tells me how much we are still the same.

Driving home,

Top to toe and tail backs and looking at the drivers next to me.

So what do I have to pick up today?

First,

I have to go and pick up some honey from my daughter and her herbal teas.

She is a lover of all teas herbal and likes to drizzle some golden honey to each beautifully smelling infusion.

I have to pick up some beer glasses for my husband.

He's having some friends over at the weekend and they're doing some beer sampling.

Any excuse for beer and a get together for him and his friends.

I have to pick up a football for my nephew.

He has a friendly match coming up with his mates and his ball is not the latest one.

So he has tapped up his favorite auntie to get him the most recent kit so he could show off to all his friends.

What is life without having a favorite auntie?

Never mind the fact that I am his only auntie.

Go figure,

Right?

And for me,

I have to get another lighter to light my tea lights when I'm doing my meditations each day.

My old one stopped working and I don't always like to use matches.

I had one with a long stem so I don't need to go too close to the flame and it sparked with one click.

So that is what I'm looking for today,

A replacement lighter for my candles and tea lights.

So as I eventually reach the town,

It's time for me to find a park and go run my errands.

I think that for all this work,

I will treat myself to a deserved tea or coffee and do one of my favorite things.

People watching.

People watching.

What a beautiful day to relax.

Let's do our breathing exercises again.

Slow down your breathing and repeat with me.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Take a breath in and out.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Take a breath in and out.

Everything always works out for me in the right time and space.

Final breath in and out.

And out.

Oh,

What a wonderful day indeed.

Taking my time,

Enjoying my time and feeling totally relaxed.

No rushing,

No stress.

Just a beautiful way to go with the flow of the day.

I'm not sure about you.

I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it.

So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.

I'm not sure about you.

I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it.

So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.

Thanks for joining me tonight.

And as you slowly drift away,

Have yourself a great night's sleep.

And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of Bedtime with Barbara,
