Welcome beautiful soul,

This is JB and welcome to a beautiful night's sleep.

Thanks for being here for another in the series sleep stories with JB.

Today we're going to just sit by the garden window and watch and listen to the rain fall.

So let's get into your favorite sleeping position.

Make sure you're comfortable,

Close your eyes and slowly imagine yourself just melting into the bed.

Now let's go to your breathing,

Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Last time,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

So today I'm sitting by my window and watching the rain fall.

I have some soothing music playing in the background and I'm just relaxing.

In the distance I hear a few cars passing by but for the most part it's all about the rain falling and observing what will unfold before my very eyes.

Just thinking about the things that go on in the garden and what an amazing world it must be if you are a tiny creature,

A bird or an animal.

It must be a whole world of amazing adventures.

So what can you hear?

Just listen for a moment.

I hear birds chirping and oh look a few of them are having a bath in the rain.

Swooping down to a puddle that's under some leaves and shaking their feathers under the stream of water pouring off the leaves and getting a really good soak.

The water runs off the leaves just like a shower really but no doubt gives them a great clean.

There are two of them just dancing under the falling rain.

It looks like they're having so much fun.

Swooping up and down shake.

Oh what it must be like to be a bird.

Being able to sit on a branch must be nice but the amazing part would be the flying.

Up high in the sky with the wind under your belly and under your wing.

Gliding and just going with the flow of air and you navigate amongst the undercurrents and the sudden side draughts.

What an amazing thing it must be.

I feel it would be like just allowing the air to send you on a journey to see the whole world from a different perspective.

Swooping down closer to land dodging the trees and buildings then gliding back up to see everything below getting smaller and smaller and then down again.

What a rush it must be.

I come and sit here in the mornings with a cup of tea and listen to the birds singing.

But I don't think they're really singing.

I think they're just having a conversation with each other.

Could you imagine it if we translated it into human language?

What must they be saying?

Hey Sally how did you sleep last night?

Well Bill it was good you know but the chicks kept me up this morning.

Had to go and get them some food.

Now I'm back just chilling until the food run again.

So how was your night Bill?

Oh my night was amazing.

After watching the sun set and all the beautiful colours in the sky I just fell off to sleep.

Nearly fell off the branch I was perched on but caught myself and went back to sleep dreaming of the sunrise once more.

What a beautiful simple life they must lead.

You know I keep looking at the garden and see something moving really fast in the trees.

What on earth could that be?

Ah I see.

It's a squirrel and his friend playing tag with a nut in his hand.

Trying to run away and not get caught by his mate.

They look like they're having such fun.

Hold on.

I think they must have heard me laugh because they're looking straight at me.

They're looking at me.

I'm looking at them.

They're looking at me.

I'm looking at them.

And off they go again.

Running along all the branches and skipping from tree to tree.

What must their day be like?

It always seems like they're on the go.

Do they ever rest at all?

To be honest I'm not sure but they always are so full of energy and that makes me smile and admire their spirit.

What an exciting looking life they lead.

Oh hold on are those some little eyes I can see in the corner?

Oh would you look at that.

A red fox.

He's just under some bushes and observing all the action that's going on in this garden.

I think he doesn't fancy the rain so much and is taking the time to shelter.

Or is he just observing something that he wants to see a little closer?

Ah there it is.

He's coming out from under the bushes and he's chewing at some berries.

I didn't realise they ate berries because I see so many of them in our bins.

But yes he's chewing away at some berries.

How sweet.

Some people don't like them but for me I like to observe all the inhabitants of the garden especially when it's raining.

From the worms that pop out and wiggle themselves across the grass.

To the snails and slugs that always attack my plants.

To the one little hedgehog that has a nest way up over there.

And if you live further out in the country you may even see a rabbit or even a hare.

For sure it's like a movie unfolding before your very eyes.

I see myself on a nature programme.

But watching it in live and in living colour.

Yes it is lovely to see all the things that go on in the garden especially when it's raining.

It's not too hot.

Yes,

It's lovely to see all the things that go on in the garden,

Especially when it's raining.

Well,

It's time to go now.

It's time to go now.

Have a great night and thanks for joining me on my journey looking out the window and just watching the rain fall.

See you next time for another in the series Sleep Stories with June B.
