Hello beautiful souls,
This is June Bee and welcome to an amazing night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series Bedtime Tales with June Bee.
Join me as we are immersed in the most thunder and lightning I've seen for a while.
And all the things we will discover on our journey to sleep.
So let's get into your favourite sleeping position,
Making sure you are comfortable.
Close your eyes,
Relax your muscles and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.

Strangely comforting at the same time.
Well,
What a conundrum.
Firstly,
Thunderstorms can be dramatic and very powerful.
They can bring up a range of emotions from excitement and fear.
Also,
And even more strangely enough,
Can cause you to feel grounded and at peace.
The sounds of thunder are called brown noise.
Brown noise is even bassier than other noise profiles.
Brown noise boosts bass a bit more just to further warm things up.
This noise is similar to the sound of waves crashing or winds roaring.
So if you are a fan of the sea,
Brown noise might be the right noise for you.
Brown noise is also the deep rumble of thunder,
Like what you hear when a storm is brewing.
This ambient noise can help stimulate the ADHD brain,
As well as drowning out surrounding background noises and chatter that might distract you.
This can in turn reduce stress.
Some people find that listening to brown noise produces a calming sensation due to its deeper frequency and sound.
Even though it is much bassier than other noise profiles,
It is a great sleep aid if you're struggling to nod off at night.
Or to mask other sounds in your environment.
Brown noise can also be an invaluable aid for people who listen to brown noise regularly and studies show that it helps them to block out unwanted noises and,
More importantly,
Distract telling internal thoughts.
Well,
There is brown noise in a nutshell.
So we now know that the deep rumble and those loud cracks can be very soothing and comforting.
Even though,
Logically,
It seems like they won't,
Right?
Have you ever thought about a story when you are all alone and the lightning is flashing and the thunder is cracking?
Well,
Even if you are alone while listening to this,
You're not alone.
I'm here to keep you company through the noise and the low rumbles.
Why don't we think about it this way?
There are two friends playing a game in the sky.
One has a ball,
The other a light.
They are trying to take turns in seeing which one can be the scariest or create the most attention possibly.
So here is how it looks.
The sky was a deep and dark colour with a brooding feeling in the air.
Heavy clouds were rolling all around and it feels like an army getting ready with all their troops for battle.
The soft evening breeze has made a definite turn and in the blink of an eye has transformed into a howling wind with rain that blazes through the trees and has the branches bending to almost breaking.
Then for a minute there is a deathly silence.
The kind you hear when someone is about to take a big inhale.
Then without any warning the thunder of the first crack is in the sky and off we go.
With the whole sky lighting up bright with a flash that almost blinds you.
Hot and white electricity almost splitting the sky in half.
And before you can catch your breath another bolt with a loud crack spread across the sky with slick efficiency and so loud it seems to rock the sky and shake nearby windows with a deafening thud.
In the time that things seemed to quiet again the sky has its picture taken with that illuminating bright flash that makes you need to turn away and blink your eyes tightly.
With the after effects of the lightning dancing across the sky in a beautiful pattern and creating a light show for your pleasure and delight.
As it ends the thunder roars again like an angry bear being woken up from a sweet sleep and doesn't appreciate the interruption.
Roar.
The heavy laden dark and foreboding clouds causes the heavens to open once more with the heaviest rainfall you have ever experienced.
Drenching the pavement and hammering the rooftops without any care in the world.
Can you hear that?
Oh,
I love the sound of rain.
It's like all the water is being chucked out of the sky at the same time.
Beating the earth with such force it causes the soil to bounce up out of place and the relentless pounding and hissing of the water causes an almost steamy effect coming up from the ground.
Then there is another flash that lights up the whole storm-tossed sky in sections.
Each flash revealing more and more rain that will inevitably end up smashing down on the ground in sheets.
So much rain and as the rain is blown all around by the howling wind this causes the branches of the trees to bending and a few even breaking.
Throwing debris and water all over the place in this unsettling production of our few friends fighting in the sky.
As the storm rages on there was a beauty in it.
A fierce,
Terrible beauty that left those who witnessed it awestruck and even humbled.
So,
Which one wins?
The thunder or the lightning?
This strange sense of raw and untamed power almost alive at times settling into a light-hearted match between these two friends fills the air with two ends of the spectrum.
First loud and light,
Then hush and silence.
Working its way back through these emotions again and again.
Well,
If you ask me,
I call it a draw.
And that's a nice way to look at this informal bonding session between two great friends.
The world is calm again.
As the storm passes it leaves behind a scene of calm and tranquility.
Like there was never anything going on in the sky at all except crisp and clear skies.
Funny that,
Huh?
Skies filled with a plethora of beautiful stars that light up the night sky with an amazing creamy white glow.
Now we feel a sense of calm after enduring the intensity of that storm.
Feeling in quiet awe,
Observing the beauty that sometimes follows like a rainbow or clearer skies.
Reflecting on this game of two friends,
Thunder and lightning.
You know,
It makes me feel super ready to relax and looking forward to snuggling into my bed with my gym jams for a great night's rest.
I'm not sure about you,
But I'm not sure about you either.
I'm not sure about you.
I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it.
So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.
Thanks for joining me tonight.
Thanks for joining me tonight.
And as you slowly drift away,
Have yourself a great night's sleep.
And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of bedtime tales with June B.
Good night.
