Gently bringing your awareness to your breath,
Not trying to change it at all,
Just simply noticing it,
The inhale and the exhale,
And as you begin to settle you may notice that your mind wanders,
Thoughts are moving,
Body adjusting,
This is all natural and this is what minds do and bodies do when they begin to slow down.
Signs may come and go around you,
Just let them pass through your awareness,
Returning gently to your breath.
Each time you notice your mind wandering,
Your body moving or sounds around you,
Simply gently return to your breath,
Kindly and without judgement.
Your breath is always there like a silent mantra,
A place to centre yourself,
A place to return to.
Now we begin by inviting in gentle support,
You may invite in your guides,
Your higher self,
The unseen helpers who walk beside you.
We call to the spirits of this place,
The land beneath us,
The space that holds us,
Seen and unseen presence here,
Asking to be supported,
Guided and held in respect and care.
We call in the four directions,
The east,
The energy of new beginnings,
Clarity and fresh perspective,
The south,
Warmth,
Courage,
Creativity and movement,
The west,
Reflection,
Feeling,
Release and deep listening,
In the north,
Wisdom,
Steadiness,
Grounding and support.
The sky above us,
The earth below us and within,
Quiet awareness that is always here.
This is a time that asks us to pause,
To listen again,
To soften rather than push forward.
Time of subtle adjustment,
Of returning,
Of noticing what asks for care rather than correction.
Small shifts creating space,
Gentle clearing happening in its own rhythm,
Nothing caused,
Nothing rushed,
Just unfolding.
Now you might like to imagine you are sitting inside a small cabin,
A safe haven,
Warm,
Calm,
Quiet,
Protected,
A place that belongs only to you.
Notice the textures,
The light,
The colours,
The feeling of being held here.
This is your safe haven.
When you are ready,
You move towards the door,
Opening it gently.
Outside is a peaceful landscape waiting for you.
This might be a forest or perhaps a shoreline,
Even open land stretching out beneath a white sky.
And as you step outside you are not alone.
The spirits of this place walk with you.
Your guides walk with you.
You are supported as you move.
Feel the air,
You notice the sounds,
The colours perhaps,
Deep reds,
Vibrant oranges,
Or the golden light of the sun shining down on you.
You walk slowly,
Guided not by thinking but by curiosity.
There is no destination,
Only experience.
After some time you come across a place that feels safe,
Familiar,
Comforting in a way that is difficult to explain.
It might be somewhere to sit,
Be free.
A patch of earth warmed by light.
A place that feels like it belongs to you.
Allow yourself to settle there.
Nothing to do,
Nothing to achieve,
Just a softening.
You might notice what you have been holding,
A tension,
An expectation.
There is something many of us do not want to admit.
We are exhausted.
Back to back meetings,
Endless deadlines,
Quiet,
Mindful,
Always on,
Always available,
Always pushing.
Call it a busy season.
What if busy isn't temporary anymore?
What if it has become the default setting?
You might wish to ask yourself,
What is weighing heavy on my shoulders?
Where am I carrying what doesn't belong to me?
Where in my life am I over committing an obligation rather than alignment?
What expectations are creating unnecessary pressure?
If I could set down one burden today,
What would it be and what stops me from doing that?
And from this place of safety,
You don't need to solve that.
You only notice.
And perhaps,
Just for a moment,
You allow one quiet shift.
Instead of,
I'm sorry I can't do more,
You whisper inwardly,
Thank you for understanding.
I'm at my limit right now.
Notice how that feels in your body.
Notice any softening.
Any space that opens.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Your breath to deepen.
As your nervous system loosens its grip.
Allow yourself to simply be.
Breathing.
Resting.
Being held by this place.
There is a quiet preparation happening here.
Gentle shifts.
Small clearances.
Space being made by force.
You stay here for a few moments.
When it feels right,
You slowly stand.
Beginning to walk back.
The cabin comes into view.
Familiar.
Steady.
Waiting.
You step inside,
Closing the door behind you.
Returning to your seat.
Feeling the support of this place around you.
Allowing the experience to settle.
You thank yourself.
You thank your guides.
You thank your higher self.
For the journey you have been on.
And for the journey you have ahead of you.
So sit in silent contemplation for a few moments.
Now let's take a few moments to slowly provide a meditation.
Gently bringing your awareness back into the room.
Just take a moment to feel yourself sitting here present and grounded.
Still with your eyes closed.
With your eyes closed.
Like you,
You feel drawn to bring your palms together at your heart centre.
And to think of one thing that you can be grateful for today.
Slowly at first rubbing your palms together.
And faster and faster.
Before placing your hands over your eyes.
Feeling the warmth absorb into them.
And then slowly and gently blink your eyes open whilst keeping your hands over them.
Take the time to do so.
There is no rush and it's really important to be gentle on the senses when you're coming out of meditation.
You can when you feel ready.
And only when you feel ready.
Take your hands away.
And bring your attention fully back into the here and the now.
Namaste.
