To improve mental health, it is important to have balance in your life…but what does it mean to have balance and equilibrium in your life? The great philosopher, Aristotle wrote – “Virtue is the golden mean between two vices, the one of excess and the other of deficiency.” To create balance in your life it is imperative that you are equally within your four bodies – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This meditation is a powerful affirmation-based meditation to help you create inner balance and equilibrium, bringing inner peace and calm to your life. I will guide you through a peaceful visualisation to enable you to embrace a balanced life and leave you feeling secure, empowered and driven, as your life-force energy is whole once more. Enjoy! Make yourself comfortable,

Either seated or lying down is fine.

Make sure that you have plenty of time and space to yourself to enjoy this meditation.

It's an equilibrium meditation.

As you feel your breath coming in and your breath going out,

Relax into yourself,

Feeling your body settling into the seat,

And feel yourself relax even further.

As your body settles,

You bring your awareness to your breathing.

Notice the breath coming in and the breath going out.

Follow the breath with your awareness.

Follow the breath all the way in and follow the breath all the way out.

Not trying to change it in any way.

Just breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in,

Feeling the breath as it passes through your nostrils.

Breathing out as it leaves your nostrils.

Keeping your awareness lightly and gently on your breath.

Breathing mindfully in the present moment.

Breathing in,

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

I am breathing out.

And as you continue breathing in and out,

Ask yourself,

How can I be more balanced?

Take note on each time you ask this question.

What thoughts come into your mind first?

Once you're satisfied with the information you've received on how your life could be more balanced,

Then observe these thoughts without judgement and allow them to drift away.

Relax your mind and body.

Widening your mind again,

Noticing your breath coming in and your breath going out.

Each time your attention moves away from the breath,

Distracted by a thought,

Notice the thought,

Acknowledge the thought,

Let it go.

And bring your awareness back to your breath in the present moment.

Letting your full awareness be on the breath as it comes in and as it goes out.

Noticing the familiar rhythm of the breath as I take you through some affirmations.

Today I am grounded.

Today I stand firm in who I am and what I am doing.

Today I know that I am right where I need to be.

Today I live and breathe in the present moment.

Today I worry less and do more.

Today I rein in my thoughts,

Seeking peace and balance.

Today I listen to my intuition,

A place of confidence.

I know that I am so much more than I think I am.

I breathe a little deeper and smile a little more.

I take things a little slower.

Today I notice the little things that make me happy.

I give thanks for what I already have.

Today I take action towards my goals.

Today I live like this is the most important day of my life.

I embrace the love and possibilities all around me.

Forgive past hurts and wrongdoings.

I know of things,

People and habits that no longer serve my greater good.

I release the things that make me feel anxious,

Stressed or overworked.

Today I live for the beauty and joy in the world.

Today I know that I am right where I need to be.

Today I focus on what I can change and let go of everything else.

Dwelling in the present moment.

I know this is a wonderful moment.

Breathing in,

I calm my body.

Breathing out,

I smile.

When you bring your awareness to the breath in this way,

You are connecting the mind and the body in the present moment.

The word for breath and the word for spirit in many languages is the same.

So bringing your awareness to your breath,

It's mind,

Body and spirit in the present moment.

As we bring our attention to the need for more balance,

We are going to bring the energy of balance into your spirit.

This will help your subconscious mind to awaken when you are at rest.

Imagine or visualize yourself balancing on a tree branch high up in the air.

You see yourself balancing there with your arms outstretched.

Feel a slight breeze.

Hear the leaves of the tree flutter and dance around you.

Smell the fresh air.

You feel your feet firmly grounded to the tree branch.

Once you feel this grounding,

Imagine you lift one of your legs up into the air behind you.

You are balancing on one leg and your arms are still stretched out to the sides of your body as if you were flying.

You feel centred and grounded.

Feel how centred,

Grounded and strong that leg is.

Feel how balanced you are.

You can still feel the winds slightly blowing all around you and you feel completely connected to this tree branch like you are a part of the tree.

Once you are done,

Bring your leg back down to the tree branch,

Arms to come back down to your sides.

In your mind's eye,

Bring your hands to your heart centre and feel the energy of balance running through your whole body from your firmly grounded feet on the tree branch to the top of your head.

Now imagine climbing down from the tree.

Once you are on the ground,

Thank the Universal Oneness or your Higher Self for this experience.

Then gently come back into your body and into your mind,

Taking note of your breath and feeling your breath coming in and your breath going out again.

Continue to mindfully breathe in this way,

Taking the breath all the way in,

Noticing the slight pause at the turning point as the in-breath becomes the out-breath and following the breath all the way out,

Noticing the brief pause at the turning point as the out-breath becomes the in-breath.

Aware of the steady,

Familiar rhythm of the breath.

Now let's take a few moments to slowly come out of meditation.

Gently bring the awareness back into your room,

Into your body.

Connect with your breath.

Take a moment to feel yourself sitting in this presence,

Still with your eyes closed.

Take your hands and place the palms together and think of one thing you can be grateful for today.

Rub your palms together,

Creating friction before placing your hands over your eyes and feeling the heat from the hands being absorbed by them.

Slowly and gently blink open your eyes while keeping your hands over them.

Take a few moments to do so.

There is no rush.

Now slowly move your hands away,

Bring your attention fully back into the here and now.

Namaste.
