Welcome to the series on finding balance in a busy world.
We lose our sense of balance and wholeness when the I that says I am identifies with what is not.
The immediate effect is an internal sense of fragmentation with many stories being created with that same I,
The self,
Creating different eyes at the center of each story.
At an emotional level there will be regular anxiety and frequent frustration when one of our eyes does not get what it wants.
This then affects our immediate relationships with others,
Family,
Friends,
Colleagues,
Mother nature,
Etc.
My name is Jay Chodhagam and I am a meditation teacher in San Francisco.
Over the next 30 days I will walk you through the various areas of fragmentation and work towards reintegration.
Session 1,
My responsibility for myself.
We went to school to learn what we were told are the three Rs,
Reading,
Writing and arithmetic.
It is in the school of real life that we encounter the four Rs,
Responsibility,
Relationship,
Roles and resources.
It is in this gap in our education which is the root of all of our stress.
Now take in some deep comfortable breaths,
Breathing into the abdomen just like when you see a baby sleeping very peacefully.
Notice what it feels like just to be.
We are human beings long before we became human doings.
All that we do springs from our state of being.
Who else could be responsible for my life except myself?
And yet it's easy to live in the illusion for a long time in our lives without realizing that I am responsible for everything that I create in my life.
I am responsible for every thought,
Feeling,
Belief,
Perception,
Attitude and action.
Regardless of the circumstances or situation,
I am responsible for every response I create.
The self-responsibility recognizes the necessity to make the unconscious conditioning conscious,
To check it,
To challenge it and where necessary to change it.
This cultivation of self-awareness is the foundation of real learning.
Any time I feel emotionally uncomfortable,
Stressed or negative in any way,
It is a sign that I am avoiding my responsibility for myself.
Life is different when I feel this lovinness especially when it comes to the other.
You You You You You You You You You You Thank you
