This mantra is designed to help one become aware that there is a deeper self. Behind the association to our bodies, beyond the association of our traumas, and thoughts, we are all the same source of life.

Hello and welcome to our mantra meditation today.

We can start this meditation by just arriving.

We're going to be moving with our breath today,

So finding yourself in a comfortable position that allows you to breathe deeply.

Perhaps loosening any tight clothing,

Making any adjustments you have to before we begin.

Once you're ready,

Just starting to settle into your posture,

Really just arriving in this moment.

What's here in this moment for you?

What feelings or sensations are in the room?

What feelings or sensations are in your body?

What feelings and sensations are in your mind?

Just tuning into that present awareness.

This meditation we're going to be exercising with today is a single-pointed focus meditation with our focus being on our mantra and our breath.

As we inhale throughout this practice,

We'll be saying the mantra,

I am not my body.

As we exhale,

We'll be saying,

I am not my mind.

You can do this as an internal or external mantra when you do this at home.

Internally just keeping that mental mantra going,

I am not the body,

I am not the mind.

And externally just softly speaking the words.

If you're speaking the mantra,

You will speak alternating which line you use on the exhale.

So inhale,

I am not the body.

And then on the next inhale,

Exhale,

I am not the mind.

So start by taking a couple deep breaths to prepare yourself.

Then we begin inhaling nice and slow,

I am not the body.

Exhaling,

I am not the mind.

Inhaling,

I am not the body.

Exhaling,

I am not the mind.

Keep going,

Inhaling.

Exhaling,

I am not the mind.

As you continue to go with your own deep rhythm.

If you find yourself getting distracted and pulled away,

Just bring yourself back to your breath and to your mantra.

I am not the body.

I am not the mind.

Allow this mantra to bring with it a state of being or a state of curiosity.

Because these words can trigger some pretty deep questioning.

I am not the body.

I am not the mind.

I am not the body.

I am not the mind.

I am not the body.

I am not the mind.

Allowing the mantra to begin to dissipate.

Not allowing your breath to return to a natural rhythm,

Whatever that is at this moment for you.

Noticing how you feel internally and externally.

I notice any impressions that that mantra maybe have left on you.

Those concepts.

I am not the body and I am not the mind.

This can also be taken further into a contemplation meditation.

Really start to ask the question of who or what am I then?

But if that is the end of your practice for today,

You can gently begin to blink open your eyes,

Taking in the room,

Taking in the space around you.

And finding yourself back in this time and place.

Thank you for joining me for this mantra meditation.

Namaste.
