Hello and welcome.
This meditation today is all about empowerment.
It's about helping us get out of our own way to really step into all of our potential.
To begin,
We're just going to find a comfortable position for this meditation.
You can be seated or lying down.
Whatever works for you to feel comfortable and supported in the moment.
As you find your comfortable position,
We're going to start just by bringing ourselves into the present moment.
We're going to do that by bringing our awareness,
First of all,
Just into our surroundings,
Into the space or environment we find ourselves in.
Perhaps you are aware of a sound in the room or maybe the temperature of the space or a smell.
Just something that really begins to anchor you into your space.
You can lightly allow your awareness to just brush on any combination of these different attractions to the senses.
Then little by little,
Slowly,
We're going to start to bring our awareness more and more inwards.
The next step inwards,
We're going to just bring our attention on to the physical self.
You can do a very quick body scan,
Just noticing if there's any areas that you're holding onto tension and maybe just being aware of some of the areas that you commonly hold on the tension.
You can check to see if the legs are gripping or if they can relax a bit more,
Relaxing the hips,
Allowing them to sink into a supported posture.
If there's any tension in your low back or maybe shoulders,
If you can allow your shoulders to just relax down the body,
Sliding down the ribs,
Softening the jaw and the eyes,
The muscles and the brow line.
Anywhere you're feeling you're holding on to any tension that's not going to serve you throughout the rest of the practice.
Then we're going to take our awareness one more step inwards onto our breath without feeling any need to change anything,
Just being aware of how the breath feels today.
Does it feel light or heavy,
Strong or soft?
Do you feel it sinking into your belly or maybe into your ribs?
Perhaps it's a light breath that just goes into the shoulders and collarbones.
No need to change anything or judge it.
Simply bringing your awareness there and recognizing your state of being.
Bringing the awareness one more step inwards,
Checking in with the intellectual self,
Noticing the state of your thoughts right now.
Either they seem to be racing or slow,
Plentiful or nonexistent,
Honoring wherever you are and just noticing.
You can bring your awareness to your emotional state.
Are you feeling any tendency to label anything as positive or negative or to creating these scripts or stories about the present moment?
If so,
Seeing if you can just gently allow that to soften or let it go.
Then reward your mind by allowing it to go and drift off to anywhere it wants,
Letting go of the leash,
Letting go of control and just simply be in this moment for a few breaths.
For this practice,
I'm going to invite you to visualize a room within your mind,
A place that you feel safe in,
It's a big empty room at this point.
Then all of a sudden,
A light appears above you,
Just a small little pinprick of a light to start.
As you look up at this light,
You start to feel it washing over you as the light begins to grow.
It grows in brightness and intensity and you start to even feel the warmth from this light.
As this light washes over you,
It brings with it a feeling of safety,
A feeling of security,
Of confidence.
It feels perfect in any definition of that word.
Then you start to notice that this light is a spotlight and you find yourself on a grand stage.
You look around and you notice the detail and the beautiful woodwork of the stage and of the auditorium or theater.
You see all the seats and just take in what it feels like to be there,
Be on that stage.
I know that you're meant to be there.
At this point,
The auditorium or theater is empty,
But it still feels perfect in that moment.
With every breath you take in,
You feel more confident,
More feeling of deserving,
Just feeling that light beaming down on you.
Then little by little,
You start to notice that some of the seats are filling with people.
These are people that are here and have come here today to just celebrate you on that stage,
Celebrate you in your greatness.
As you stand there not even feeling like you need to do anything,
These people begin to applaud and cheer for you.
Take a look around and start to notice who has come to celebrate you in this moment.
What faces do you see around you?
As you see these faces,
You start to feel even more confident.
You start to feel even more like this is the right place to be right now.
Their cheers because of it get louder and louder.
Their clapping and their smiling and all of it is just for you.
It's a way for all of these people to just show you how much they appreciate you for just being you.
That you don't need to go on this stage and perform for anybody.
You don't need to go out in your life and perform for anybody.
There are all these people here just cheering your name simply because of who you are.
As you breathe that in,
As you soak that in,
You feel more and more empowered.
You feel more and more like you know who you are or you know who you were always meant to be.
Maybe you feel a big smile come across your face as you start to wave back at everybody.
Now you look around and the whole amphitheater is completely full.
Every seat is full and there's faces there that perhaps you didn't even realize you were still impacting.
There's people there that are just cheering your name from the shadows and it feels amazing.
So you give your last little wave or a bow or curtsy or whatever feels right as the curtains slowly start to close in front of you.
And as those curtain close,
The cheers get even louder and you take a moment to just soak in that experience.
Soak in that feeling of deserving.
Soak in that feeling of confidence,
Of strength,
Of health,
Of vitality.
Anything that you experienced in that moment,
Just honor it right now.
The feeling of being loved and a deep down feeling that even without any of their love,
That feeling of how much you love yourself and how much you know that you're deserving of love and happiness and joy and bliss and peace in this world.
The spotlight slowly begins to go back down to a pinprick.
You find yourself back in that room in your mind.
Everything about the experience just feels like it made you a little lighter.
Even just seeing yourself standing in this room,
You notice that you're standing a little bit taller,
A little bit more proud.
Then slowly you allow that whole setting to fade away into the background and your awareness slowly starts to drift back into your body.
Maybe being aware of your eyelids being closed,
Being aware of your self in your physical body or aware of yourself in your setting or environment.
You can invite some subtle movement back into your body,
Maybe just taking in a couple of deep breaths,
Still feeling the feelings of all of those people there to celebrate you.
When it feels right,
You can slowly begin to open your eyes and allow just for a moment a smile to come to your face because a smile is one of the easiest ways that we can celebrate ourself.
If for no other reason,
We can bring a smile to our face just to honor being who we are.
Thank you for joining me on this journey today.
Namaste.
Thank you.
