This meditation is consciously designed to gently and lovingly guide you through the process of defusing emotional triggers and liberating you from painful past experiences. Enjoy.

Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.

My name is Jan and it's my great honor to be guiding you on this journey.

Allow yourself to find a comfortable spot where you may rest undisturbed for a little while.

So when you are ready,

Allow your body to relax.

And as your body relaxes,

Notice your eyes feeling heavy and wanting to close.

Allow your breath to soften.

No need to change it.

Just notice how it automatically begins to soften as you enter into this state of heightened relaxation.

Become aware of your body.

How is your beautiful body feeling today?

What sensations are here for you in this moment?

This could be sensation in the form of warmth or pressure or perhaps unease or agitation.

Maybe your mind is very busy or maybe it's feeling still and quiet in today's practice.

Wherever you find yourself,

Both physically in your body and mentally in your mind,

Give yourself permission to allow everything.

Allow all sensations,

Thoughts,

Emotions.

Affirm to yourself that all is welcome and know that however uncomfortable an emotion may be or however unsettling a thought may be,

Know that you are not your emotions,

Know that you are not your thoughts.

You are the observer of your emotions.

You are the observer of your thoughts.

You do not need to hold on to emotional states,

To thought patterns.

You have the power to detach and to let them go.

So I want you to now allow an unpleasant thought,

Feeling or situation to enter your mind.

One which carries emotional charge for you.

One which perhaps you have been avoiding or burying.

Allow it to resurface in your mind's eye through bodily sensations.

And while this happens,

Know that you are not that sensation or thought.

You are the observer.

You are watching it play out from an elevated vantage point.

From a place where you are completely safe and at peace.

Notice how you have an abundance of power within you.

Which you can tap into at any moment to support you.

If ever the feelings or thoughts get too much,

You are strong enough to face whatever it is that you need to face.

Stay with any sensations that arise.

Feel into them.

Allow them to pass through you.

Your body is like a lightning rod.

It's a channel for emotions to move through you,

Leaving you unharmed as they do.

Whatever it is you're experiencing,

Know that it's for your highest good.

You possess an inner healer within you.

Which is there to help you release and heal everything within you.

At your own pace.

In your own unique timing.

Can you allow yourself to be grateful to you for having come here today and so bravely faced the more challenging aspects of yourself.

Be immensely proud of yourself for simply showing up to this practice.

When you are ready,

Bring your awareness back to your body.

Notice the contact points between your body and the earth.

Notice any sounds around you.

Notice any sensations.

And notice your breath coming and going.

And when you are ready,

Allow your eyes to gently open.

Know that this practice can stir up emotion inside you.

And because of this,

It's good to take it easy for the rest of the day.

Maybe you don't want to jump right into a busy social situation or to throw yourself into work.

Allow yourself to rest and be kind to yourself.
