A guided visualization into relaxation, with three periods for reflective meditation. A soft background of wind-blown lake waves gradually diminishes then becomes silent, As we fall into the depths of relaxation, the rhythmic wave sounds at the surface drop away, get progressively quieter then cease altogether. We settle down into the dark depths where silence reigns, nothing moves, and only quiet natural peace exists, deep relaxation.

GONG GONG GONG Hello,

This is Jacob Watson with a guided visualization meditation for relaxation,

Including three quiet times for reflection.

These waves of relaxation surge across a state of main lake in the mountain foothills near my home.

The rows of small curls march toward us,

Stately gifts of energy that bring the solace of connection and consciousness,

The sure knowledge that we are a vital part of the rhythm of creation itself.

The waves roll across the mile-wide lake,

Pure and healing energy,

And we know they are only the surface of this lake.

Much lies below.

Made not by the hand of mankind,

But by the heart of nature,

The waves,

In a relaxing pattern,

Splash softly on the small shore.

The sound of the lake waves reaches out to include us,

Hold us,

And support us,

A reminder that we are,

Now and always,

A part of the natural world,

Whether on the surface or in the depths.

It is as easy as breathing to join the encouraging energy of these small,

Smiling waves as they move from one form,

The green lake water,

To another form,

The white foaming bubbles on the sandy beach.

This pattern is the breathing of the lake from its depths to its surface.

The curls of wave energy breathe air into water and then water back into air in a complete natural cycle,

Thus gently mixing,

Blending,

And transforming everything.

The air of the sky above and the water of the lake below,

The heights and the depths join.

They breathe together to encourage us into organic relaxation.

On the surface of the lake water,

Up close,

The waves are loud to themselves and to us.

They are stirred by the rising wind,

Precious now because we know the cycle means the wind will diminish later with the fading light of afternoon and evening.

Manipulating the process for a different purpose Now,

We drop down into the water,

A few feet below the sea.

We drop down into the surface and feel the change here where the sound is a little quieter.

We are below the splashes and the light,

Yet the water is still roiled and sparkling.

Here is the transition layer between the light air above and the heavy water below.

This is an in-between place,

A boundary where one form blends into another,

And the quiet formless below is anticipated.

A certain welcome progression is known,

A confidence in the process downward to additional relaxation.

A mild grief is felt as we leave the lake surface,

Let go of its activity and move down towards tranquility.

Even the movement downwards slows,

Not at all sluggish,

But simply enveloping.

A curious combination of acceptance and anticipation blends as we welcome the change.

It is both less noise and more peace as we sink into the relaxation below.

Now,

We dissolve into more quiet when we leave the surface where the waves play.

The wave sounds are faint and small now,

Far away on the surface above.

Diminished,

They leave room here for stillness and relaxation.

The gentle sounds of the waves still accompany us,

Murmuring in the background a distant echo of all that busyness up on the surface.

Away from it now,

With only a whisper of a reminder,

We open to the darker peace that increasingly enfolds us.

Our muscles relax,

Newly confident in the increasing support of the thick,

Heavy water.

The letting go feels natural.

It's not so much that we deserve it,

Or that we have earned it,

Though this is true as well,

But that this is our very nature,

Who we are at this deep level.

We not only experience relaxation,

We are relaxation.

Thus,

As the sound of the lake waves drops away completely,

We enter the deeps of dark silence.

All our five senses go quiet.

They have nothing to do.

Our very being relaxes into this quiet stillness.

Here in the dark depths,

Where stillness lies,

We are untouched by any wind or light of the lake surface.

Down here we are not pierced by any distraction.

Protected,

These depths have a quiet life of their own,

Hidden and secret,

Peaceful and silent,

Timeless and relaxed.

The cool and enveloping black water holds us completely.

Comforting and calming,

It encircles us and holds us in its embrace.

Our very skin relaxes and becomes porous,

As if the calming water around us enters our body and spreads the relaxation from the outside to the inside,

And then,

Like our blood vessels,

Throughout our whole body.

We are permeated,

Caressed by relaxation to and in our very core.

Surrounded by complete stillness and silence,

We now gently breathe relaxation.

We conclude as we began,

Now coming full circle.

The singing bowl rings three times,

The sound coming and then dropping deep underneath the lake waves into silence.

We reach eternal relaxation.

The bell rings three times.
