Welcome!

The green Buddha sits at home in the corner of our small yard,

With tall new red tulips behind him,

Peaceful,

Eyes closed,

Yet seeing everything.

My two-year-old neighbor asks,

Why are his eyes closed?

Let this present moment be silent,

Unstructured by distraction,

And open to awareness.

Find your physical flesh and bones,

And come back home again to this human being you inhabit.

Make yourself at home in your body.

Feelings also need a place to be welcomed,

Safely shared,

And thereby make their way out into the larger world.

Relief,

Anger,

Peace,

Sadness,

Wonder,

Awe,

Etc.

So,

Too,

Do spirits and souls seek a familiar home where they may be embraced.

Your spirit wants you.

May your full self be at home in the world this day.
