This week’s discussion begins with the benefits and importance of breath awareness and how breath awareness leads to body awareness. The conversation then expands into the body and what a miraculous feat of bio-engineering the human organism truly is, concluding with thoughts concerning how the body and breath can be used as anchors into the present and why it is incumbent upon us all to honor these magnificent physical manifestations which were placed in our custody and care.

And welcome back to another edition of Dissecting the Wisdom of Shaltazar with my good friend and collaborator,

Mark Lane.

Thanks for joining us again this week,

Mark.

Hi,

Jeffrey.

As always,

I'm glad to be here.

Yeah,

Yeah.

We're kind of getting into the flow of this kind of thing,

And it's kind of neat.

And since we've changed our format a bit,

I'm really looking forward to you picking a topic because I don't know what you're going to talk about today.

And so I am waiting with a certain sense of anticipation.

What's our topic for today?

Well,

So this is a little bit of a different spin on some of our prior conversations,

But I wanted to talk about breath as breath relates to presence and awareness.

Mm-hmm,

Breath and how it relates to presence and awareness.

So give me some background.

Tell me how that came into your consciousness.

Sure,

So it seems like,

We'll call it cosmic or spiritual information comes to me in blocks or in bunches.

And the idea of breath,

It seems so simple,

And it's very pervasive throughout a lot of spiritual teachings and spiritual processes and meditations.

I mean,

Obviously meditation,

We're always talking about breathing.

Most meditations begin with a breathing exercise.

And so lots of things about breath have been coming to me this past week and caused me to kind of pay a little bit more attention to what I kind of take for granted.

I mean,

I think we all take breathing for granted,

Right?

It just happens.

We wouldn't be here if we weren't breathing,

But we're not really that aware of or that conscious of our breathing.

And it occurred to me how impactful the breath is just in not only in anchoring us to the present moment,

But in how physically we feel in terms of nervousness or anxiety or calm,

You know,

And how the breath is directly tied to our,

Not only our sense of presence,

But our sense of wellbeing.

Yeah,

It's interesting because breath seems so simple,

And yet so complex,

Which is very fascinating.

It's one thing,

You know,

To talk about the breath and it's there,

It's another to focus on it.

And,

You know,

I studied a little bit of Buddhism philosophy and they talk about that anchor and often the breath is the anchor.

So bringing your attention to the breath takes your attention away from the mind,

Which is interesting.

I too have been doing a lot of thinking.

One of the more recent messages from Shaltazar talked about the body's homeostasis and the body's ability to just run itself and run itself probably better than we could.

The essence of that message is that that was the design of the source,

That the source designed the body with an inner knowing.

And I think breath is the essence of that inner knowing,

Because it just,

We don't have to teach our body how to breathe,

It just breathes.

And so I think that that's really kind of fascinating.

I think personally,

We kind of foul things up a little bit by not allowing the breath to be as natural and as flowing as it could be.

And I've noticed that depending on your breath and your breathing,

It will trigger certain chemical reactions.

A short,

Shallow breathing will bring up more of a adrenaline kind of rush,

Whereas a slower,

Deeper breathing,

The yogic breathing,

Tends to calm you down.

And so although breath seems so simple,

It must have been programmed by the source in such a way that it triggers a lot of stuff in our body.

Right,

Yeah.

Little example,

Little personal example of that,

I was noticing,

And this was going back a couple months,

When I was under a great deal of stress,

That naturally,

When I was feeling the stress,

I was holding my breath.

I wasn't suffocating myself to the point of passing out,

But I was breathing much more shallowly,

And I was pausing in between breaths and kind of hanging on to those breaths.

And I started to develop stomach ulcer issues,

And I noticed headaches,

Various physical ailments.

And it occurred to me at some point that it had something to do with the fact that when I was feeling these anxious moments or these stressful moments that I was arresting my breath.

And once I started paying a little bit more attention to that,

And when I noticed those anxious feelings come on,

Turned to my breath and really consciously said,

Okay,

I gotta breathe,

I've gotta take a deep breath in,

I've gotta take a deep breath out,

How almost instantaneously that those physical symptoms started to subside.

Mm-hmm,

Mm-hmm,

Fascinating,

Isn't it,

How we have to.

.

.

And that's,

I think,

The sense of that present moment,

When you focus on the breath,

The mind tends to be a bit quiet.

It's interesting you tell that story because I work out on a weekly basis with a personal trainer.

And very similar to your story,

I'd be straining on this heavy weight,

And he'd say,

Breathe,

Jeffrey,

Breathe.

And it's like,

Oh yeah,

I forgot to breathe.

I was focusing so much on the exercise he was giving me that I forgot to breathe.

And just like you,

When I did start to focus on the breath,

And he would help me out and say,

It's on the lift,

Or it's on the up,

Breathe in,

On the down,

Breathe out,

Whatever it is,

Whatever the exercise was,

He kind of really helped me focus on when to have an in-breath and when to have an out-breath.

And I noticed as I completed that series of repetitions,

It became much,

Much easier.

So I think breath,

And Shaltazar often calls breath the flow of life,

The essence of life.

So I think we often don't pay attention enough.

It's a great indicator.

If you could have a breath monitor,

I think you would get a better sense of where you're vibrating.

I think breath really,

Really indicates whether you are in more of a harmonious vibration or you are in a more stressed,

Forced vibration.

Right,

Right.

Yeah,

I mean,

One of the hallmarks or symptoms of panic is rapid,

Shallow breathing,

Right?

One of the hallmarks of sleep is deep,

Restful,

Relaxed breathing.

So you kind of look at those two opposite ends of the spectrum and you can see how the breath impacts your reality just in those two ends of the paradigm,

Right?

Yeah,

And so I would highly encourage the listeners to try that out,

To watch your breath and do some shallow,

Fast breathing and just get a sense of your body.

What does it do?

Focus on your extremities,

Focus on your hands,

Focus on your feet,

Focus on your head.

And see if you can notice anything.

Then take a bit of a break and switch to a deeper,

You know,

Belly breathing,

A yogic breathing and notice the body as well.

And I think you will find a big difference.

Now,

That means if we are not paying attention to our breath,

We are not paying attention to our body.

And I think,

I think that's a big difference.

I think when people tell us to pay attention to our breath,

That might be the easiest indicator of your body.

I'm also a big fan as well as watching your breath,

Just watch your body.

Sure,

Yeah.

Feeling into the body,

I think is important because your body's always giving you signals,

Right?

It's talking to you.

And we tend to ignore things that turn bigger because we aren't paying attention to them.

You know,

I believe all maladies,

Sicknesses,

Ailments can be spotted.

I know a number of medical intuitives.

A lady that I used to coach became a medical intuitive and I had a reading with her and it is amazing.

The truth that the body will speak and Shaltazar talks about that very much so that in every cell of your body is a piece of the source.

So there is a piece of truth.

So not only focusing on your breath,

We're gonna expand this conversation a little bit.

I think if we can focus on our bodies,

Our physicality,

We will have a much better sense of our vibration.

I've always been a firm believer that if you can pay attention to your emotions,

Because Shaltazar says emotions are truth,

Feelings are truth,

That will give you an indication of your vibration.

But I think if you go to the source,

If you go to your physicality,

You can get a great sense of how you're vibrating.

A habit that I have and I cannot,

And it's been years and years trying to figure it out is that my right foot tends to tense up.

I noticed that the toes curl up a little bit and I just noticed it over the years is like,

Why is that?

And that's that present moment awareness.

If you bring your attention,

If you bring your attention to the body,

You will notice some real hints as to what's going on in your vibrational field.

Right,

Yeah,

That's kind of the same way I discovered my breathing was impacting my wellbeing with my,

Those stomach issues,

Because I was like,

Why is this hurting?

What's going on down there?

So that was like the body screaming at me saying,

Hey,

You're out of balance,

You're doing something here that's harmful,

So I'm giving you this feedback.

And now it's up to you to figure out what it is you're doing and to correct it or to change it.

And so,

Yeah,

It does talk to you all the time.

And I think we are sadly,

Just the way we take the breath for granted,

We sort of take our bodies for granted.

We assume that,

Oh,

It's gonna be here,

It's gonna be our vessel for living this life.

But we kind of,

I don't know,

Maybe have lost respect for what a remarkable and perfect organism it is and how it grows and heals itself and feeds itself and takes care of itself and turns food into energy.

And I mean,

All the miraculous things that the body is,

If we really stopped and honored it for its miraculous nature would be less inclined to poison it the way we do with all the things that we do,

Whether it's bad foods or alcohol or drugs or whatever,

You stop and you'd say,

Wait a minute,

This is like throwing eggs at a temple.

Why do you wanna do that?

It's- Yeah,

Or even worse,

Fuel on a fire.

Right,

Right.

Yeah,

Which is really interesting because we do love to go divergent in these conversations and move it outward.

We're in the midst of the COVID pandemic and we are so fearful.

What would it be like if we really put our focus on taking care of the body?

There is a reasonably high percentage of recovery of COVID.

I'm not recommending people go out and get it and I respect the governments and the institutions trying to protect us and minimize the spread of it.

But have anybody ever,

Have we thought about the fact that what's the difference between those that recover and those that don't?

Maybe it's the ones that take care of that temple.

Maybe it's the ones that take care of their body,

That have listened to their body.

There's,

It's the same thing as a common cold or the flu.

Two people get the flu or a cold and one of them is laid on their back and incapacitated and another is mildly inconvenienced.

The body has a healing ability.

And when you were talking before about honoring the body,

I was thinking,

What would it be like if we ask a bunch of engineers that design things to comment on the engineering of the body?

Because they're used to building machines and they have to,

They understand engineering principles.

God designed this body.

It's like,

I'm in awe in a recent channeling from Shelte Tazar,

They brought that to my attention that how the body works and how the organs work and all of that is like,

You know,

There are engineers that have been trying to develop robots for a long time and I'm sure that they haven't mastered it because we've added into our body emotions and thinking and all kinds of stuff like that.

So,

You know,

As you pointed out,

It is a miraculous,

Miraculous piece of craftsmanship.

Right,

Yeah.

I heard it described once as an electrochemical miracle,

Which is pretty apt description.

I mean,

The fact that it works and how everything works together and it does the things that it can do,

It's just,

You know,

It's beyond description.

And again,

You know,

Like the breath,

We tend to take it for granted,

You know,

That it's just always gonna work.

And so we are willing to take risks with it that we probably really shouldn't be taking and then it bites back.

You know,

We have muscle pain or we have,

You know,

Some sort of ailment or disease that manifests because we're not allowing our source to be in alignment with our physicality,

I guess.

Yeah,

Yeah.

Well,

You know,

It's interesting,

As you say,

We sort of have to listen to that vessel,

That fine tune machine that has,

I don't know,

How many cells do we have in our body?

I think it's billions,

Isn't it?

Yeah,

It's in the billions,

I'm certain.

We not only have billions of cells,

But they can reproduce,

Which is quite amazing,

Right?

So,

I mean,

If you,

And I would highly recommend that listeners take some time,

Do some meditation,

Some reflection on this amazing vessel called our body.

And if you can develop a greater sense of respect and homage towards this,

Then I would ask you to start thinking about what you're doing to that body.

Let's bring it back to breath,

Right?

It happens so naturally,

It's there,

You know,

We can heighten,

We can speed up the breath,

We can slow it down.

When we're running,

The breath tends to increase so that we can keep running.

And what do some people do?

They inhale smoke,

Toxins,

And put it into those lungs and expect the breath to continue as if nothing happened.

Yeah,

Yeah,

It's interesting you say that.

I was in my car the other day and I was watching somebody smoke and their car was full of smoke.

And I was like,

You know,

If that was a structure fire,

They'd be treating you for smoke inhalation because medical science knows that you don't want smoke in your body and your lungs,

Because it's dangerous.

So,

But we do it to ourselves,

You know,

We do it on purpose,

Which just,

It just doesn't,

It's just not logical.

Right,

Right.

So,

You know,

What began as a conversation about the breath is now,

You know,

Expanded to talk about the whole body,

Because I think the breath is probably the easiest way to start bringing your attention to that miraculous vessel that we call our body,

Our physicality.

And it operates in such an amazing way.

When,

As I mentioned before,

If you start running,

Your breath automatically hastens,

You automatically take in more oxygen.

You don't have to stop and program that in.

You don't have to stop and say,

Oh,

Hang on,

Lungs breathe more.

And,

You know,

It just happens,

It just happens.

And so if we could honor that amazing piece of engineering in such a way that we took better care of it,

Can you imagine the life that we could live?

We would live longer,

We'd be healthier.

We wouldn't need,

We wouldn't rely on medical science as much.

Yeah,

I mean,

It would be a much different world.

Right,

Well,

They did say that the masters and generations long before us lived a lot longer than we did.

So as mankind evolved and we developed a whole bunch of bad habits,

Our life expectancy shortened,

And then we're now expecting medical science to keep us alive longer,

But we are not owning the personal responsibility of taking care of our own bodies.

Which,

You know,

I have to tell you,

It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine.

I was raised with the belief that,

You know,

Doctors and medical science took care of us.

And nobody ever taught me that I was responsible for my own body.

And I have,

You know,

In my later years,

Since I've gone on my journey of self discovery,

Become a great proponent of preventative medicine.

I'm always taking care of my body and trying modalities,

Massage therapy,

Acupuncture,

Reiki,

Chiropractic,

Energy healing,

On and on and on and on,

Osteopathy.

We need to be our own advocates for our body,

Which now goes back full circle to what we talked about a few minutes ago.

We gotta start listening to our body.

We have to be in sync with it.

And the interesting thing that shall disappear is pointed out to me is as you get in sync with your body,

You are getting in sync with the knowingness of the source.

There's no better way to get in touch with your intuition than to tap in to your body.

Right,

Yeah,

That's a great point.

It's almost like it's a stairway to awareness or presence.

I think we rely so much on our eyes and what we see that if we can tune into our breath,

Our breath brings us into the moment,

But it also brings us into our body and grounds us,

Right?

Because as soon as you breathe,

You think,

Okay,

I'm feeling the breath,

I'm feeling the breath in my body.

And that breath is making my body feel good.

It's feeling energized and alive and in a way that's good.

It's feeling energized and alive and oxygenated.

And if we can keep following that path into the body,

Then pretty soon we are aware of our presence in the moment and our sense of really what's around us fades and our connection to the right now sort of blossoms,

If that makes any sense.

A hundred percent,

And not only to the right now,

But to the infinite.

Shaltazar makes it quite clear that by moving to that present moment,

Moving to that place that you were talking about,

We will hear the invisible world.

We will connect with the invisible world in a stronger way.

And I don't know about you,

But I could use all the help I can these days and to tap into the infinite wisdom,

The universal mind field is something that keeps me from doing some very stupid things these days.

It really keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Something you mentioned reminded me that in mindfulness,

In the Jon Kabat-Zinn mindfulness,

They do a lot of work on the body scan.

They start on the body scan.

And I highly recommend to listeners that you try that,

That you get into a very quiet place and you start to scan your body from your head right down to your toes and just do it sort of one part at a time and imagine,

For example,

Right now,

I'm sensing a real tingling in my forehead,

In my crown chakra,

In my third eye.

At the same time,

I'm feeling a tightness in my feet.

And so somewhere in there,

I don't have that flow of energy because with the work I do,

I'm fortunate enough that I'm getting a lot of downloads and a lot of energy from above,

But I often block that in my lower chakras,

Which tends to be my more human side.

So doing that body scan and noticing what's open and what's tight and breathing in,

Back to that breath that started this whole conversation,

Breathing into the tight parts of your body is an amazing way to open the flow of energy.

Right,

I do that all the time.

One of my favorite things to do is to breathe into the heart because I really feel connected to source when I do that.

Yeah,

Yeah,

Because breath is life and you're breathing life into the heart and yeah,

Fascinating.

Well,

Thanks for bringing up this topic,

Mark.

We're just about out of time,

But it was like pretty interesting topic for something that we could say is so simple as the breath.

And yet we had a really interesting conversation that we could probably continue for quite a while.

Yeah,

Right,

Right,

Who knew?

Yeah,

I hope it added some clarity.

It certainly has helped me and brought my attention back to breath and physicality and hopefully the listeners as well.

And with everything that's going on in the world,

If you can tap into your body a little bit more,

If you can tap into your breath,

This breath is that indicator of your body,

I think you will find it's very useful.

Any final words,

Mark?

No,

Sir.

There it is.

Well,

We've done it again.

Thank you so much.

I look forward to next week.

Listeners,

Thanks for tuning in and I hope you spend some quality time with your body in a sense of gratitude and sending it as much love as you possibly can.

Thanks again,

Mark,

Love and light to you all.
