Hi,
It's Brooks and here we are.
It's good to be here with you.
Today we're going to be talking about riding the life force.
I was thinking about that because there's a life force.
There's an animating force.
And it moves the planets.
It creates stars.
And it also pumps our heart and breathes our lungs.
It's like if you had all these electronics in a room.
You had a washing machine and a toaster and a crock pot and dishwasher.
They're all different.
They all do different things.
But they're all run by electricity.
In the same way there's this life force that animates everything.
You can say that it's unseen because electricity is unseen.
But you can see its effects by movement and life.
By the existence of things in life.
And I like to use the words riding the life force.
As opposed to resisting the life force.
I saw this video yesterday of these huge waves.
And they were powerful.
They were beautiful,
Quite wonderful.
Mighty.
And I imagine riding on that wave.
I've never surfed before but I imagine what it would be like to surf on.
To ride the power of that.
I'm not controlling the wave,
I'm riding the wave.
In the same way,
What would it be like to ride the life force?
The force that moves planets.
That builds galaxies.
We may be smaller than,
You know we're smaller than a planet.
But the life force doesn't discriminate as something better or more important.
Electricity doesn't discriminate.
Oh here's the toaster.
It's not as important as the dishwasher.
There's energy.
There's this energy that's inherent in us.
That also is inherent in the rotation of the planets around the sun.
So you could say we're already riding the life force because we're alive.
Our hearts beating and our lungs are,
You know we're being breathed.
Blood is being circulated through our body.
Nerve impulses move through our body allowing us to move.
So that life force is already there.
But it's nice to consider that.
It's nice to consider that there's this life in us.
It's been given to us.
We exist because the same force that moves planets is beating our hearts.
And it can make us feel fuller to imagine that.
To recognize that really.
And it can help us feel connected.
Am I being alive and the life force moving through me as well as moving planets around?
Well it also does the same thing to other people.
I may like or not like someone or agree or not agree with somebody.
But there's that same life force that's propelling them and animating them.
And in a sense they're riding the life force too.
It'd be like a bunch of people out there on surfboards riding a wave,
A big wave.
We're all being animated by that same wave.
So considering that it can make us feel closer to others,
Feel connected.
And that's one of the best feelings in life is to feel connected.
It's one of the primary sources of happiness is to feel connection.
So you're thinking I'm riding the life force.
I'm riding this wave.
I'm riding this current,
This current that gives me life.
And no matter where you go,
You go outside and there's trees.
And they're animated by that same force.
You could say that they're riding the life force too.
And everything is made of vibrating molecules and particles.
So there's the vibrating force in that too.
So you're not alone wherever you go,
You have that connection.
And it comes from the personal recognition.
Oh yeah.
That same force that rotates the planet is beating my heart.
I'm not alone.
I'm connected with life.
So we see it in ourselves and we see it in others.
And life becomes a lot richer as a result.
Life's going to have ups and downs no matter what we do.
And there's going to be pleasure and pain no matter what we do.
But if that connection's there,
That feeling connected with life and with everything that life animates,
It makes life a better place to be.
A sweeter place to be.
Regardless of the circumstances.
So I encourage you to consider this.
Think about it.
See how it feels.
Try it on.
See if this resonates with you.
See if you can sense that life force.
The animating force in your body,
In your heart,
In your mind,
In your thoughts,
In your actions.
And if you can get a sense of that in yourself,
See if you can extend that sense outside of yourself.
And see what that feels like.
These are all suggestions.
You might have your own discovery,
Your own ways of looking into this with your curiosity.
It's really curiosity here at work.
Curiosity is what allows us to discover these subtler things,
These fundamental things.
So I wish you the best.
And take care.
Bye.
