Transcript

Good evening and welcome to this quiet moment at the end of your day to reflect gently,

To let go and to move into rest in a peaceful way.

Begin by finding a comfy position and let your body settle.

Gently close your eyes and take a slow steady breath in and exhale with a soft sigh.

There's really nothing you need to do right now apart from just be here.

Feel the support beneath you,

Whether that be the ground,

The bed,

The chair.

Just allow yourself to be held.

Just allow yourself to let go a little bit.

And just breathe.

Turn your awareness to anything from today that felt heavy or stressful.

And without going into the story too much,

Or your perception or narrative of the story,

Just notice where it might still live in your body,

Where you might be feeling it.

Breathe into that space.

And with each exhale,

Imagine releasing it as if you're gently setting it down.

You do not need to carry everything with you into the night.

If it is still lingering,

I want you to imagine putting it into a box just until morning,

When you can come back to it if you need to.

So just visualize putting this situation into a box and closing it.

Just lock it away in there.

There is nothing to be done about this tonight.

And you are not going to lose out on rest because of it.

You've done what you could today.

You've shown up.

You've done your best.

And now you get to rest.

As you continue to breathe slowly,

Think about one moment from today that you're grateful for.

It doesn't need to be anything big,

Maybe a kind word someone gave you,

A delicious drink you had while taking a break,

Maybe a quiet moment to yourself.

Let that moment rise gently and notice how it feels to hold that memory.

Let that gratitude spread,

Starting from the centre of your chest and moving softly through your body.

Let yourself soften.

Let your breath deepen.

Let the day come to a quiet close.

Take a few final breaths at your own pace.

Let stillness settle in your mind,

Body and spirit.

And if you're ready to sleep,

Just stay as you are and drift into a peaceful sleep,

Knowing you did your best today and have released what does not need to be brought into the night.

I hope your night is peaceful and I hope you wake up feeling renewed,

Refreshed and ready for the day.
