A calming meditation inviting movement to help awaken, honor and open what lives and vibrates deep within us and around us. This is number 1 (of a 6 part series) and is made to be inclusive of any traditions (or no traditions). Production support from Jason Morrell and City Church San Francisco. Peace and blessings and courage.

And humility and space.

This is going to be a moving invitation,

Meditation,

Alongside a series of six walking unhurried movement practices for Lent and beyond,

However it fits,

However it folds.

My name is Jonathan Stalls.

I'm with Intrinsic Paths.

I'm an artist.

I'm LGBTQIA+.

Recording this invitation from a local city park in Denver,

Colorado,

So you will hear the sounds of airplanes,

Automobiles,

Birds,

Wind,

And I invite you to be present and honoring of the unique sounds wherever you are,

As you are,

As you move.

These are also the lands of the Arapaho,

Navajo,

And Cheyenne,

And we honor them.

So if you are not already outside and ready to slowly move,

I invite you to pause and make your way.

Once you are outside,

I invite you to move near a tree if you can,

If you are able.

These meditations and invitations are inclusive to walking and moving on a wheelchair or powered stroller.

A key invitation is to be unhurried,

Be extra attentive,

Extra open,

Extra available.

So let's start with two or three really deep breaths,

Just honoring our body as it is,

As we are.

So breathe deeply in,

Slowly out.

Breathe the air,

The sky,

Deeply in,

Slowly out.

We invite God,

Spirit,

Our deep aches,

Our dreams,

And even our pain and our heaviness to be honored and to move with us.

And we breathe that in,

We breathe that invitation in,

Deeply in,

Slowly out.

So now I just invite you to be slowly moving,

Feeling your feet roll on the earth beneath you,

Whether that's a street,

A sidewalk,

Dirt,

Grass,

Trail,

Movement.

We honor movement,

Patient movement.

We honor the breeze,

And the way the air feels.

We honor the way branches twist and reach.

We honor the way our own unique lives have twisted and reached.

So alongside this week's theme,

This first week,

Moving solo if we can,

Moving with our deep heart as we are,

With grace and space and humility,

That we move with our experiences,

That we move with our dreams,

That we move with what feels heavy,

That we move with our wounds and our pain and our stress,

That we move with our joy and our delight and our sense of wonder and awe,

That we move with love,

Bold love,

Wide love,

Spacious love,

Wondrous love,

Love that sees us and love that sees others and the planet through us,

That we invite a big and mysterious God,

Many gods,

All the gods,

However you live and know and lean into a god-like essence,

However that is,

Wherever that is,

We move with it.

So I invite you to be in your unhurried movement for a couple minutes.

We will be together,

You'll hear music just for a couple minutes and just be open to what rises,

To what songs come up within you as you give this time to listen and tend to them,

That we're not solving anything,

We're not fixing anything,

That we're just moving with whatever arises,

To be unhurried.

You you you you you you so if you are able I invite you to slowly stop maybe again near a tree maybe your hand is on the tree you're looking up at the branches there's no rules so anywhere is fine I just invite let's take a couple deep breaths just to just to honor the things that are moving with us the deep truths the things that are spoken and have been spoken and the things that haven't been spoken the things that were aware of the things that feel distant and looming let's just breathe deeply in that we honor them and we see them we acknowledge them deeply in slowly out we breathe in the complexity of our humility of our fragile body on this earth surviving trying opening emerging with grace and humility deeply in slowly out so I invite you to continue moving with tenderness in an unhurried way as many as many times as you can in a day in a week 15 minutes 20 minutes half the day all day hours weaving a story or you're inviting an opening what's deep within where you're inviting an opening towards spirit the spaces between God to move all the way through you and with you and in and of itself honoring movement movement movement movement we are moving forward our blood is still circulating our lungs are still breathing we are existing we are worthy because we exist so I invite you to continue your walk or your role as you are for as long as it suits I just honor each of you as you are thank you for flowing with me in this space and in this way peace openness courage healing and movement peace
