Hello,
I am Dr.
Sayiba Aiko,
And I will be your contemplative meditation guide for the next 15 minutes.
During this time,
I invite you to become comfortable,
Still,
And relaxed.
We'll begin with a quote to contemplate,
Then we'll go into breath work,
And then I'll lead you on a guided meditation,
And I'll send you on your way with an affirmation.
So let's begin.
I invite you to either close your eyes or lower your gaze as you contemplate this quote by Mae C.
Jemison.
I'll repeat it three times.
Never limit yourself because of others' limited imagination.
Never limit others because of your own limited imagination.
Simply breathe those words in and contemplate.
Notice what comes up for you in your body,
Your mind,
Your spirit.
I'll read that twice more.
Never limit yourself because of others' limited imagination.
Never limit others because of your own limited imagination.
I'll read that once more.
Never limit yourself because of others' limited imagination.
Never limit others because of your own limited imagination.
As I contemplate those words,
I think of a time when I let certain dreams and ideas die because no one else could imagine them except me.
I'm reminded of how I've grown because I used to need validation from others before trusting in my visions and bringing my dreams to life.
The proof comes to heart and mind in a memory of my relationship with my mother and how I imagined a better one and was able to release my limiting beliefs around how I thought she might continue showing up.
And I focused on the possibilities and how she could show up.
I also focused on my part in the co-creation of our relationship and decided to become the kind of daughter I actually wanted to be.
Now our relationship isn't perfect.
However,
It feels better to me because I released the limiting beliefs I had of my mother and her ability to show up.
Now I invite you,
If your eyes are not closed,
Your gaze is not lowered,
Close your eyes or lower your gaze,
Whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Then I invite you to sit either cross-legged or in a chair with your feet flat on the floor so that you can ground yourself.
Your spine will be straight and your neck an extension of your spine.
Rest your hands on your thighs with your palms facing up.
And then place the tips of your thumbs and your index fingers touching.
So this is the Gyan Mudra.
And once you're comfortable in this position,
Begin to inhale through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.
I will count.
Just follow along.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Remember to exhale through your mouth.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Then begin to breathe at a pace that feels good for you,
Slowly and deeply.
Today's meditation will deepen your ability to create your own reality.
So with your eyes closed,
I invite you to focus on the space between your eyebrows.
This is called your third chakra.
Focus your attention and your energy there.
Then begin to imagine and see what you would like to transpire in your life.
Maybe that's today,
Tomorrow,
In the next week,
A month from now,
Or a year from now.
Whatever it is that you desire and you want to see,
Begin to imagine that.
Is it perhaps a meeting that you desire to have a certain outcome?
Is it a relationship that you would like to develop or improve?
Know that if you can see it,
It can happen.
Forget about what you've seen or experienced in the past.
This can sometimes limit your ability to believe your desires are actually possible.
So simply envision what you want to happen and really focus your energy as you assist in being that.
As you are doing so,
Bring the love and the light and the purest intent for this or something better to occur.
You may have difficulty seeing the details,
But you can feel it.
You can feel it.
You can feel it.
You may have difficulty seeing the details.
You may not be able to see what you would like to transpire.
And you may see something completely different than what you would like.
Try not to judge what you see.
Again,
If you can see it,
It can happen.
You are a collaborator and co-creator in the art and science of creating.
So I'll give you a moment in silence to simply imagine this event,
This occurrence,
This relationship,
Whatever it is for you,
And take time and develop it.
Feel into all the details.
What do you see around you?
What do you hear?
What do you smell?
What do you feel?
What might you taste?
Use all of your senses as you're co-creating what you desire.
Feel all the emotions that this might bring.
Perhaps it's joy,
Excitement,
Laughter.
Feel into all of the spaces.
Feel into all of the spaces.
Really have fun and play with the possibilities of all you desire.
Glow in your imagination.
If you can see it,
It can happen.
As we near the end of this meditation,
I invite you to take the deepest breath you've taken all day and release it out of your mouth.
Allow any tension to fall away,
Your shoulders to drop,
And begin to see your vision slowly fade away.
Take another deep breath,
Exhaling slowly as your vision fades away.
Once it is completely dissolved,
Take the deepest breath you have taken again.
On the exhale,
Coming back into the space,
Wiggling your fingers,
Your toes,
Maybe stretching your hands above your head,
And opening your eyes when you are ready.
Today's affirmation that I will leave you with,
And I invite you to repeat after me three times.
I am limitless and I create my own reality.
Let's repeat that together.
I am limitless and I create my own reality.
Twice more.
I am limitless and I create my own reality.
One more time.
I am limitless and I create my own reality.
I invite you to be mindful,
Breathe deep often,
And contemplate how you will believe and co-create more of what you want in your lives.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
