Om.
Welcome to this Durga meditation.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position.
You want to elevate your hips at least a little so that they can relax.
Hips above knees.
I always like to sit on a couple pillows or a block.
Sit tall and proud like Durga.
Bringing the shoulders onto the back so you can be nice and wide across the chest.
Spine is tall.
Slightly bring the chin back and down in space to lengthen through the back of the neck.
The crown of the head reaches up and imagine rooting down into the earth through your seat through your legs.
Begin by relaxing muscles of the face calling to mind that beautiful unflinching radiant calm smile of Durga's that doesn't change even as she goes into battle.
As you relax your jaw on touching the teeth calling in a jaws relaxed as a baby's.
My face is soft as a baby's.
Relaxing the forehead allowing it to just smooth out relaxing all the little muscles around your eyes.
The face is soft.
Perhaps just a little tiny gentle smile maybe just in your mind's eye.
And begin by taking a few really deep breaths now.
If you like could sigh the exhales out the mouth or slowly release the breath through the nose if you prefer.
With each inhale it's like you're replenishing any energy stores that may have been a little depleted from flowing your energy outwards to other people,
Different problems,
Situations,
Tasks.
Replenishing that energy on your inhales and on your exhales and just allow any excess or overwhelmed frazzled energy to just root down into the earth as fertilizer for composting.
When you feel complete with those really deep breaths allow the breath to relax.
Allow the breath to be natural and easy.
It's no longer something you need to actively think about.
Just allow the body to breathe itself and become aware of all parts of you that are in contact with the earth with the support below you.
Feeling that those physical parts of your body in contact with what's supporting you from beneath.
You can almost feel like that support is rising up to meet you like a throne,
Like your own personal tiger or lion.
Bringing the awareness down out of the head where it likes to live.
Become aware now of your entire physical body at once.
For the most part the mind lives in the past,
In the future,
But the body can only be here now.
The body exclusively lives in the present.
Become aware of as many sensations throughout your body at once as you can.
Opening up the awareness you might feel sensations like temperature on your skin,
Sensations of your clothes on your skin,
The feeling of the breath throughout the body,
Any tightness or soreness,
Any pulsing or throbbing or tingling.
And instead of jumping from one sensation to the next,
How many sensations can you become aware of at once?
Feeling yourself very much grounded in your own body,
Sitting tall and proud and regal and radiant like Durga.
Feeling every cell of your body alive,
Awake,
Tingling and sparkling with energy and very much here and now.
Notice the feeling of your energy,
Your emotions,
Your thoughts,
In and around your physical body.
Perhaps there's anxiety or discord,
Frustration,
Looping,
Notice any resistance to what's arising in your experience.
Calling upon and aligning with your inner Durga to expand your capacity to be with what is.
Consider and any thoughts,
Emotions,
Thoughts and emotions about those thoughts and emotions are simply vibrations within awareness,
Automatic arising from your conditioning,
From the biological functioning of you.
They are not who you are.
They are not what you are.
What you're thinking,
What you may be feeling in any given moment here,
That's just what is.
And you,
The real you,
The pure awareness that you are,
Has no preference one way or another for the contents of awareness.
Just like Durga,
You can hold it all,
You can be with it all,
You can experience it all within you and be unchanged.
For what you really are is unborn and undying and it cannot be affected by any thought,
Any sensation,
Perception,
Emotion.
No matter what,
All is well,
All is well,
All is well.
Becoming aware of your entire physical body again.
Imagine,
Visualize or just feel that all around you is golden light of pure life force,
Pure Shakti.
Keeping second attention on that golden radiant life force energy all around you.
Feel into a small red ball of energy in your lower belly.
And on your next inhale,
Imagine,
Visualize or feel,
Pulling in some of that Shakti around you,
Pulling it in right to that bindu of energy in your lower belly and hold it there for a moment,
Concentrating that Shakti.
And then as you exhale,
Radiate that energy throughout your whole body.
Fills up your whole body but does not leave your body.
Feel the power of that.
And as you inhale,
Repeat.
You can imagine you're pulling in the Shakti,
The life force through every cell of your skin or you could concentrate just on,
Just through the crown of the head,
Through the soles of the feet,
Through the pelvic floor.
And at the end of your inhales,
Just pause,
Feeling the energy concentrated in that energy center near the root of your body,
Your center of embodiment,
That center which grounds you.
And as you exhale,
You radiate that life force,
That power throughout the whole of you,
Feeling yourself become stronger with each breath in your energy body,
More clear,
Feeling both expansive and grounded at the same time.
A few more breaths like this.
You are fully awake and focused and soft and relaxed at the same time.
You are the perfect balance of steadiness and ease in your mind,
In your heart,
In your body.
You are the perfect balance of steadiness and ease in your mind.
Finishing up another round or two and then return to natural,
Easy breathing.
Falls.
Finding yourself here and now bring your left palm onto your lower belly area and place your right palm on top simply feel your body moving with your breath feeling the Durga in you fully activated your energy body strong and expansive completely grounded you are both fierce and compassionate you have clear boundaries and you honor them you are a powerful graceful leader wherever you are you know you have a right to be there you are not afraid to see and be seen you are Durga take a big full inhale filling your whole body up with breath with life force and as you exhale slowly release the breath down send the breath down into the earth grounding yourself even more and repeat taking a couple more deep breaths in this way feel the meditation in
