Each of the seven chakras along the spine has a color and a sound associated with it. Visualizing the color, or chanting the sound can help bring the chakras back into balance. During this meditation, we will combine both techniques. As we work our way up the spine, we will pause at each chakra and spend some time tuning into its associated color. Before moving on to the next one, we will also chant each chakra's sound one time. This is a very simple meditation that, with regular practice, can help support and energize each of your chakras.

Transcript

Sitting or lying comfortably,

Close your eyes and slow your breathing down a little.

Now,

Bring your attention to your root chakra at the base of your spine and think,

Feel or imagine the colour red.

And now,

Taking a full deep belly breath,

Chant LA.

LA And now,

Move your attention up to your sacral chakra,

Just below your belly button.

And think,

Feel or imagine the colour orange.

And a deep breath,

The sound is VA.

VA Moving your attention up to your solar plexus,

Just above your belly button.

And think,

Feel or imagine the colour yellow.

A deep breath,

The sound is RA.

RA Bring your attention now to your heart centre,

In the middle of your chest.

And think,

Feel or imagine the colour green.

Deep breath,

The sound is YUM.

YUM Moving your attention now to your throat chakra,

At the base of your throat.

And think,

Feel or imagine a bright turquoise blue.

And a deep breath,

The sound is HUM.

HUM Bringing your attention up to your third eye,

Above and between your eyebrows.

And think,

Feel or imagine a deep midnight indigo blue.

And a deep breath,

The sound is SHAAM.

SHAAM And moving your attention now to your crown chakra,

At the top of your head.

And think,

Feel or imagine the colour violet.

Deep breath,

The sound is OM.

OM And now,

Keeping your eyes closed,

Start to slowly and gently bring your attention back to the present moment.

Noticing sounds in your environment and sensations in your body.

And when you are ready,

You can slowly blink your eyes open.
