This is a Tantric meditation that focuses on the breath flowing from the navel to the throatpit, combined with a powerful, but simple mantra - 'SoHum.' SoHum is said to be the mantra of the breath and translates from Sanskrit to 'I am That.' This meditation helps to develop the ability to focus and refine the awareness of the subtle breath. In addition, it sensitizes you to the vital energy, or prana, flowing between manipura chakra and vishuddhi. This meditation is considered to be a preliminary practice for more advanced techniques of Kriya and Kundalini Yoga.
