It's time to get ready to sleep and drift into dreamland.
Sitting down in your bed,
Make yourself comfortable.
Perhaps lying on your back with your arms by your sides and feet just flopped to the sides,
Closing down the eyes.
Perhaps wearing an eye mask.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Let's take some deep breaths together to start our meditation.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the nose.
Inhale through the nose and exhale through the nose.
And another deep breath in and a big exhale out.
Continue to take deep,
Even breaths in and out through the nose.
I'm going to guide you through relaxing your body as you prepare for a peaceful sleep.
Beginning down at the very ends of your feet with your toes.
Focus on relaxing the big toes and then all the toes.
Feel the soles of your feet relaxing.
Let your ankles relax.
Feel the calf muscles relax.
Let the knees relax.
Let the thighs relax.
And the buttocks.
Let your back relax.
Feel your abdomen relaxing and your chest.
Letting the shoulders soften and relax.
Feel your arms relaxing all the way down to the hands.
Let the thumbs relax.
The pointer fingers relax.
The middle fingers relax.
The ring fingers relax.
And the little fingers relax.
Let your neck relax.
And feel the back of your head relaxing into your pillow.
Let your forehead relax.
Let your eyes relax.
Take a deep breath in through the nose.
And relax as you exhale.
Relax the mouth and the chin.
Feeling your whole body sink into relaxation as you prepare to drift into dreamland.
Continue to take deep even breaths in and out through the nose.
Sending waves of relaxation throughout your body.
If there's any part of your body that's not quite relaxed yet,
Just send the breath to that part.
Breathing peace and relaxation to wherever it is needed in your body.
As you lie there feeling completely relaxed,
Visualise the moon shining above you.
And as the moon shines her white light down upon you,
Feel the moon's light spreading through your body,
Bringing peace,
Healing and relaxation,
Allowing your body to recharge as you sleep tonight.
Feel the moon's light coming in through the top of your head,
Coming down through your face,
Down through your neck,
Continuing down into your shoulders,
Down your arms.
The moonlight spreads down into your fingers,
Through the palms of your hands.
This peaceful moonlight keeps moving through your body,
Down your chest,
Down your back,
Down through the buttocks,
The thighs,
Spreading healing and relaxing energy.
Let the moonlight keep moving down through the bottoms of your legs,
All the way down through your feet,
Through the soles of the feet,
Down to the toes,
Until your whole body is filled with this radiant,
Recharging energy,
Bringing peace and relaxation into your entire being.
Just allow yourself to lay here,
Letting yourself be soothed by this peaceful energy,
Lulling you towards a deep sleep,
Bringing you closer to dreamland,
Letting go of any thoughts that come into your mind,
Bringing your awareness back to the breath,
Deep breathing in and out through the nose.
Simply being here,
Allowing yourself to rest,
To let go of your day and to recharge.
Continue to take deep breaths,
Relax,
Relax,
Deep even full breaths,
In and out through the nose.
And very soon you will find yourself drifting into dreamland.
