The day you would choose.
Find a comfortable position.
Maybe roll your shoulders up along your ears and allow them to soften.
Feel your sit bones grounding into the earth.
And let your hands rest easily.
Allow your eyes to gently close.
And take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale.
Gently.
Through your mouth.
Again.
Inhaling slowly.
And exhale completely sighing it out.
One more time.
Breathe in,
Receiving this moment.
And breathe out,
Letting the day soften around you.
And for this little pocket of time,
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing to accomplish.
You were simply giving yourself permission to imagine.
What would a beautiful day feel like?
If I designed it from the inside out.
We'll begin at three part.
Inhale into your belly.
And then your ribs.
And then expanding into your upper chest.
Pausing full.
And exhaling slowly from the chest.
The ribs.
At Ballet.
And again,
Inhaling belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
Pausing full and soften the shoulders as you do.
And then exhale,
Chest.
Breaths.
And continue at your own pace,
Letting your inhales become just a little bit fuller.
And allowing the exhale to linger maybe a tiny bit longer.
With every exhale.
Imagine releasing the version of your day.
That is dictated entirely by urgency.
And with every inhale,
Make room for choice.
Now imagine waking up on your perfect day.
Notice the first moments.
Where are you?
What does the room look like?
What is the quality of the light?
Perhaps morning sunlight is streaming through the windows.
Maybe you are somewhere surrounded entirely by trees.
Or near the ocean.
Perhaps you're in a city you love.
There is no right answer.
Just let your imagination choose.
Notice how you feel when you awake.
There is no rush.
No immediate demand for your attention.
You take a breath.
And before you give anything to the world,
You give something to yourself.
Maybe it is movement,
Maybe it's stillness.
Au revoir.
Yoga.
Coffee in the quiet.
Music writing.
A few moments looking out at nature.
Let yourself experience the feeling of beginning the day in a way that belongs entirely to you.
Take one slow,
Deep inhale.
And a long,
Unhurried exhale.
Now,
Allow your perfect day to unfold.
Imagine the work you are doing or the way you are spending your time.
Notice what is different.
Perhaps you're creating something or helping someone.
Learning.
Traveling.
Moving your body.
Building something meaningful.
Perhaps you were doing less and experiencing more.
Notice the people around you.
Who is there?
Who makes you laugh?
Who makes you feel understood.
Who do you naturally want to share this day with?
And let yourself feel their presence.
And notice something important.
You are not trying to make this day impressive.
You are making it yours.
Let that distinction set in.
And take a breath in and silently say.
I am allowed to choose what matters.
Exhale.
I am allowed to leave room for what I love.
Now bring your attention to your senses.
What can you see on this perfect day?
Notice the colors.
The light.
The textures.
What can you hear?
Perhaps laughter.
Music.
Birdsong.
Water.
The sounds of a place you love.
What can you smell?
Fresh coffee.
Salty air.
Brain.
Flowers.
Something cooking delicious nearby.
And what can you taste?
Maybe it's something simple.
Something beautiful,
Something you genuinely enjoy.
And what can you feel?
Warm sunlight on your skin.
Your feet grounding into the earth.
Gentle cool breeze.
Someone's hand and yours.
The buttery softness of your clothes.
The feeling of being completely present in your own life.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And a long exhale.
Through your mouth.
Allowing the senses to bring you deeper into this moment.
Now imagine the light beginning to change.
Your perfect day is moving toward evening.
Notice how you feel.
Perhaps you are pleasantly tired.
Maybe you feel energized.
Or feeling deeply content.
There's nothing left to prove today or chase.
Imagine the evening unfolding exactly as you would want it.
A beautiful meal.
A favorite place.
A conversation that stays with you.
A stroll beneath the evening sky.
Incredible sunset.
Music laughter.
Or perhaps solitude.
Let it be whatever your body recognizes as nourishing.
And take a deeper inhale.
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself arriving fully in this.
Imagine life.
Let the images become softer.
You don't need to remember every detail.
Instead,
Notice the feeling underneath your perfect day.
Is it freedom?
Connection.
Creativity.
Peace.
Adventure.
Belonging.
Maybe it is a feeling you haven't had enough space for lately.
Breathe that feeling in.
And breathe it out,
Allowing it to travel through your whole body.
Again.
Inhale the feeling.
Exhale,
Let it permeate through you.
One more time.
Big,
Full inhale.
And a long,
Luxurious exhale.
And now silently complete this sentence.
My life feels most like mine when.
.
.
And allowing the answer to arise naturally.
And now remember your perfect day.
Does not have to exist only in your imagination.
Perhaps you cannot create the entirety.
But there may be one piece of it you can bring with you.
One choice.
One ritual.
On conversation.
One boundary.
One single moment of beauty.
One thing that makes the day feel more like your own.
You can take a slow,
Full inhale.
And a long exhale.
And place one hand over your heart if that feels natural.
And silently say.
I know what I am longing for.
I can begin with one small choice.
And take one final breath in.
And exhale slowly.
Begin to notice the room around you.
The surface beneath you.
The air on your skin.
The sounds surrounding you.
Whenever you are ready.
Gently.
Open your eyes.
Carry one feeling from that imagine day into this one.
Not the whole day,
Just one feeling.
One possibility.
One choice that belongs to you.
