Welcome beautiful heart back to another guided meditation here with your host Harrison Today's intention is to help you see beyond the surface This will be a 20-minute guided meditation for compassion Open-mindedness and to see the human not the label Let us begin Closing your beautiful eyes,
If they're not closed already,
And taking one deep breath with me,
Breathing in through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
Going again,
Breathing in through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
As you continue to get more and more comfortable.
You will notice that today's meditation is recorded in the forests of Maiolo,
Italy.
You will hear the wind,
You will hear the clouds rumbling,
You will hear the leaves,
You will hear animals.
I invite you to use these sounds to anchor you here in this moment.
Use these sounds and my voice to be present with me here today.
Softening and breathing in again.
And out.
Today we are exploring something very human.
Today we are exploring the tendency to categorize.
To quickly decide that I like this person.
I do not like that person.
They are like me.
They are different to me.
They are safe.
They are dangerous.
They are this kind of person.
Our minds naturally organize the world to keep us safe.
Today's invitation is to simply become aware of this.
Because there is a difference between having a judgment and becoming identified by that judgment.
You can notice a thought.
Without trying or turning into that truth.
You can notice a reaction without allowing it to define another human being.
Today,
We are here.
To move beyond the fears,
To move beyond the projections.
So together we silently repeat.
I can notice without immediately deciding.
I.
Can notice.
Or that immediately.
Breathing into this truth.
And out.
Bringing one hand to your heart.
And one hand to your belly as you continue to breathe in and out.
As you breathe in,
I want you to imagine gathering your awareness back into yourself.
And as you exhale,
I want you to imagine releasing the need to interpret everything you see.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhaling openness.
Exhaling assumption.
And as you continue breathing at your own pace,
Creating this space.
Combine this with imagining and seeing a soft,
Clear light.
Moving through your mind.
Clear light washing over.
A window.
The slide.
Doesn't erase your intelligence,
Doesn't remove your discernment.
It simply clears the dust from the glass.
It allows you to see more clearly.
And notice.
If in your mind at the moment there is a person.
Maybe a particular type.
That you already have a strong judgment or reaction towards.
You don't need to bring them fully into your mind,
Simply notice your reaction.
Where does it live in your body?
Maybe you feel tight in the chest.
Sinking in the belly.
A tightening across your face or your jaw.
Do not judge your reaction or your trigger.
Simply notice with love and breathe in with me.
And.
.
.
Nice.
Is your reaction.
The whole truth.
This is your reaction.
The whole truth.
Breathing into this space.
And.
.
.
I want you to continue to visualize here now with me.
And see yourself standing in a vast,
Quiet place.
Around you there are many doors.
Each door represents a different label.
Different cultures.
Different beliefs.
Different personalities,
Lifestyles,
Political opinions,
Generations,
Ways of seeing the world.
Some doors feel familiar.
Others feel uncomfortable.
Some may even trigger.
Resistance.
You don't need to open every door.
I invite you here,
Beautiful heart,
To simply notice how quickly your mind categorizes them.
And be the observer of this.
And now see.
From one of these doors.
The door opening and the person leaving.
Walking through.
And for a moment,
There are no labels.
No job title,
Ideology,
Appearance,
Status.
Just a human.
Being.
And with all the love in your heart and all the compassion in your heart.
Noticed them.
Notice their eyes.
They're breathing.
Their body.
See that this person has experienced moments of joy,
Moments of heartbreak.
Moments where they felt rejected.
Moments where they wondered if they were enough.
Moments where they felt fear.
And then hope,
Joy,
And glee.
Just like you.
You don't have to agree with them,
You don't have to trust them,
You don't have to invite them into your life.
In this moment,
You get to simply allow yourself to recognize There is a human.
Right here.
Breathing into this truth.
And.
.
.
Breathing into this truth.
And out.
Feeling this connection to this person.
Seeing them and yaw.
Belonging.
Your humanness.
And now notice this.
Other human.
At a much younger age.
See this human as a child.
Before their opinions,
Before their defenses,
Their identities.
Before they learned how they were supposed to be.
See this human child simply existing.
Perhaps curious or wanting to be loved,
Wanting to belong.
Perhaps sensitive and wanting to feel safe.
Every single adult was once.
This child.
And every person you pass through this world.
Has a history you cannot see.
Some have learned tenderness,
Others defensiveness.
Some have learned to trust.
Some have become hard.
None of this.
Excuses harmful behaviour.
Doesn't mean you abandon your discernment.
All of it simply gives you.
Another dimension through which to see.
Breathing into this understanding.
Breathing in.
And.
.
.
We now get to.
.
.
Rise above.
This room,
This human,
This child.
And see yourself above.
The room above the street,
Above the city.
You can see thousands of people moving through their lives.
Every person carrying something.
Every person wanting something.
Every person experiencing a private world you cannot see.
Someone is falling in love.
Someone is afraid.
Someone is learning.
Healing.
Beginning again.
Someone is struggling to become a better version of themselves.
And from this distance.
All of these labels.
Become smaller.
And what you can see that becomes more visible is the shared.
Humanity.
Underneath all of it.
Different stories,
Different choices,
Different lives,
Yes.
The same human.
Longing to be seen,
To be understood.
To feel safe and to experience love.
So feel this in your heart.
And see.
Your heart.
Emitting a light.
This light expands.
Not to fix or save.
Just simply.
As you repeat.
After me.
I can see the differences without creating separation.
I can stay discerning without closing my eyes.
I see the human.
Before.
And breathing deeply into your heart.
And.
.
.
Breathing deeply into your heart.
And resting here for a few more moments in this compassion.
In this open-mindedness.
Acknowledging today that You can carry all of this with you.
You can be rooted so deeply in who you are and remaining open.
To always see the human.
Always move beyond.
The judgment.
So as you come back into your body.
As you wiggle your.
.
.
Fingers and your toes feeling your room around you.
With so much gentleness and ease.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
As the rumblings of thunder affirm.
All that you are.
