Welcome back to another guided journey and meditation from my heart to yours.
Today's intention for this meditation is how to overcome overthinking or overcoming overthinking.
So as usual when you're ready,
When you are set,
You can get comfortable.
You can start to bring some peace and relaxation to your being and you can close your eyes.
Let us start by taking one mindful breath in through our nose into our belly.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Good and one more.
Breathing in,
Letting our eyes soften,
Letting our body come to rest.
Whether you're sitting upright or lying down,
Maybe outside,
Give yourself permission to be fully present with all that we are and all that we are includes our mind and its thoughts.
All that we are includes all of which is moving in our mental escape.
So taking another deep breath in,
This time breathing in presence,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Tension,
Letting go,
Breathing out.
So as we drop deeper,
It's a reminder here that our mind doesn't need fixing.
This meditation isn't about fixing.
It's not about forcing your thoughts to stop or chasing some perfect blank stillness.
Your mind,
Much like all of you,
Was and is not broken.
It doesn't need silencing,
It doesn't need controlling,
It does not need your forcing into a box of wrong.
It needs to be loved.
So right now,
Instead of trying to make thinking go away,
Just notice a simple fact.
Your mind is thinking and this is okay.
I'll repeat,
This is okay.
As you continue to breathe,
Start to focus on my words even more,
You might hear a voice in your head.
You might remember something from earlier today or imagine what might happen tomorrow.
All of this is fine.
All of this is allowed here in this meditation,
Here in the space that we are co-creating together.
In your mind's eye,
I want you to imagine your mind as the sky and your thoughts as clouds.
Some clouds are light,
Some clouds are soft.
Some are heavy and some are stormy.
Some drift away quickly,
Others linger.
But all clouds belong to the sky and you beautiful heart,
You are the whole sky itself.
So here in this moment,
Here with me,
Here in this meditation,
As you continue to soften,
To breathe and to be here fully.
Instead of pushing the clouds away,
We let them be.
We let them move as they wish.
Your job is not to control the clouds.
Your job is to simply be the space that holds them all.
So now,
Here in this moment,
With me,
Feel your breath.
I need to deepen it this time in this moment.
Just notice the gentle rising and falling.
Notice how your thoughts come and go without you having to do anything.
Thought appears,
Stays for a moment and it leaves.
The mind moves but you remain.
You as the beautiful loving presence that you are and will always be holds it all.
So just continue to be that.
If your mind races,
Perfect.
If it's quiet,
It's confused,
If it's not quite understanding,
It's all perfect.
Every state of the mind is welcome here.
So let's bring in a little love.
Place hand or multiple hands or whatever feels comfortable.
Place a loving intention,
A loving gesture on your heart.
Feel the warmth as you connect to the space.
Feel your heartbeat.
Silently,
Gently,
Compassionately,
Gracefully,
Speak to your mind.
In your own internal dialogue,
Repeat,
Thank you for trying to protect me.
Thank you for working so hard.
I don't need to be perfect to be loved.
I don't need to be perfect to be loved.
Notice how the body feels when you stop fighting this.
Stop fighting the mind.
Notice what happens when,
Just allow it to be all that it is.
Notice what happens when you say in your own internal dialogue after me,
You can stay just as you are.
Repeating again,
You can stay just as you are.
Allowing this friendly intention to move through you,
To move through your mind,
To move through your awareness.
Breathing in.
Now with me,
I want you to approach your mind here in this meditation,
Imagining it as a playful child.
Maybe one of your children or a child you have in your world.
See your mind as curious,
As restless,
Full of questions.
You don't yell at this child.
You don't punish this child.
You hold them,
Smile at them.
You say,
It's okay to be here.
I love you.
In this space and place,
Overthinking isn't a problem.
It's just thinking.
It's just movement in the mind and your mind was made to move.
Like your powerful,
Beautiful heart was made to beat.
There's nothing wrong here.
There's nothing wrong with your mind.
There's nothing wrong with you.
So let us rest for a few silent,
Graceful moments in this acceptance.
Breathing gently,
Holding space for whatever the thoughts that arise are.
Loving them all,
Accepting them all.
Now taking one last big,
Beautiful breath in with me.
Breathing in slow,
Feeling your body,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Feeling the safety of just being all that you are.
Knowing that nothing ever needed to be fixed or mended.
Knowing that your mind,
Like any other part of you,
Deserves the full acceptance and love that you can give it.
Holding on to this intention.
Holding on to the openness to continue to practice this.
Holding on to the gratitude of the awareness of all of this.
