Find a quiet,
Safe space where you can lie down uninterrupted for the duration of this meditation.
Make sure you are comfortable and have enough support,
Perhaps a blanket or mat beneath you and a cushion for your head.
Allow yourself to be enveloped by the support beneath you,
Your body completely at ease.
This is your sacred sanctuary.
Before closing your eyes,
Take a moment to witness your surroundings.
The subtle touch of air brushing against your skin,
The distant hum of the world carrying on around you,
The faint aroma that lingers in the air,
A gentle reminder of where you are.
Acknowledge these sensations and then let them recede into the background as you start your inner journey.
Gently close your eyes and shift your focus to your breath.
Take a deep breath in,
Tracing the cool air as it enters your nostrils,
Journeys down your throat and fills up your lungs,
Causing your chest and abdomen to rise.
As you breathe out,
Observe the warmth of your breath travelling up from your lungs,
Through your throat and out from your nostrils.
Feel your body surrender a little more with each exhale,
As if sinking deeper into the surface beneath you.
Now,
Let's journey through your body,
Cultivating an intimate awareness of every part.
We'll begin with your right side.
Shift your awareness to your right hand.
Feel the presence of your right thumb,
The second finger,
The third finger,
The fourth finger,
And the fifth finger.
Sense the palm of your hand,
The back of your hand,
Your wrist,
Your forearm.
Feel your elbow,
The upper arm,
And finally,
Your shoulder.
Slowly slide your awareness down to your right hip,
The thigh,
The kneecap,
The calf muscle.
Sense the ankle,
The heel,
The sole of your right foot,
And the top of your foot.
Feel the presence of your right big toe,
The second toe,
The third toe,
The fourth toe,
And the fifth toe.
Gently guide your awareness across to the left side of your body,
Repeating the same pattern.
From the tips of your fingers,
Through the palm and back of your hand,
Up your arm to your shoulder,
Then down from your hip along your leg to the tips of your toes.
Now bring your focus to the back of your body.
Sense your heels touching the surface beneath you.
Feel the back of your legs,
Your calves,
Your thighs,
And then your hips.
Notice the arch of your lower back,
The broad expanse of your upper back.
The curve of your shoulder blades.
Feel the nape of your neck and the back of your head.
Shift your awareness now to the front of your body.
Feel the top of your head,
Then slowly move down to your forehead,
Your eyebrows,
And the space between your eyebrows.
Notice your eyes,
Your nose,
Your cheeks,
Your lips,
Your chin,
And your jaw.
Be aware of your throat,
Your right chest,
Your left chest,
The middle of your chest,
Your navel,
And finally your abdomen.
Feel your whole body at once,
In its entirety,
Connected and complete.
Imagine every cell in your body aglow with life,
With vitality.
Feel your body heavy with relaxation,
Each muscle,
Each fibre,
Fully at ease.
Now as your body lies relaxed,
We invite your consciousness to delve even deeper.
Picture yourself at the threshold of a lush,
Verdant forest.
This forest is the embodiment of serenity and peace.
As you embark on this walk through the forest,
You marvel at the tall trees,
The flowering plants,
The rustling leaves.
You hear the soft hum of insects,
The melodic chirping of birds,
The whisper of the wind.
You feel the moist earth under your feet,
The fresh air filling your lungs.
As you journey deeper into the forest,
You come upon a crystal clear lake,
Its surface mirroring the radiant sky.
The beauty of the sight takes your breath away.
You feel an irresistible pull towards this lake and,
Unable to resist,
You gently dip your toes into the cool water.
The gentle ripples on the water surface seem to echo the subtle stirrings within your heart As you gaze into the water,
You notice a reflection looking back at you.
But this reflection is different.
It is you,
But it is shining,
Radiant and filled with peace.
This radiant being emanates love and compassion.
It embodies all your potentials,
Your aspirations,
Your highest self.
You feel a deep resonance with this being,
A sense of familiarity.
You reach out to this reflection and as you do,
It reaches back towards you.
This mirror image of you then steps out of the water and stands before you in all its luminosity.
You feel a profound connection and unconditional love for this radiant being.
It's as if you have met an old friend,
A part of you that was lost and is now found.
This being then steps closer and merges with you.
You feel a rush of warmth a surge of energy,
An explosion of light within your heart.
It fills you with an overwhelming sense of love,
Peace and joy.
A feeling of completeness washes over you.
You realise that you are that radiant being.
You are that infinite potential.
You are the embodiment of love and peace.
As you bask in this realisation,
Your heart seems to expand,
Embracing all of existence,
All of life.
You feel one with the universe,
An intrinsic part of the grand cosmic dance.
This is your true nature.
You realise this is who you really are,
Not just a body,
Not just a mind.
But a radiant divine being,
An integral part of the universe.
