Hello and welcome back to Happy Minds and to another relaxing sleep meditation and enchanted bedtime story.
This time you will make an amazing journey of discovery as my voice guides you to the big land down under,
The huge island nation of Australia.
You may know that Australia is home to one of the fluffiest,
Cuddliest and sleepiest species of animals on our planet.
Are you ready now to meet the absolute cutest koala in the whole world?
Brilliant.
As you settle in and get all cosy and comfortable,
You may close your eyes and let your imagination run wild.
As you think to yourself about how much you love animals,
You take a deep breath in and a long breath out and now allow your breathing to happen all by itself as you feel your body starts to relax.
That's great.
With your eyes relaxing happily in the dark behind your eyelids,
You imagine walking through some trees in a lovely woodland forest.
Now imagine that this forest is the Australian bushland and imagine looking around and seeing the green trees and blue skies.
You take in a beautiful breath of fresh air and you instantly feel at peace here.
You may have heard there is an old legend in Australia about a secret safe haven deep in the bushland where the healthiest and cuddliest koalas live.
This mystical place is called Gumdrop Grove,
A dense woodland of eucalyptus trees which protects the koala population from the outside world.
Even bush rangers and nature lovers and birdwatchers with their binoculars have not been able to find this sacred grove of trees because the cheeky brulga birds and clever kangaroos have distracted them on purpose to lead them off the trail.
The aborigines are the first people of Australia and have lived here for thousands of years.
They know and understand the sacred energies of the land and they respect the circle of life of the bush.
This trail to Gumdrop Grove is so mysterious and secret that only the most expert aboriginal trackers know the way.
You breathe deeply and use all of your senses to help you to discover the way to Gumdrop Grove in the heart of the Australian bushland.
Now you can see a little honey eater bird,
A tiny bird buzzing with energy with a proud yellow chest.
It hovers in front of you and then to your surprise flies backwards.
Only a few birds in the whole world can actually fly backwards and this is one of them.
As the honey eater bird zigzags backwards,
Its little wings humming with energy,
You realise that it is helping you to see the way.
You follow it for a while as the honey eater drinks the sweet nectar of flowers and flits in front of you then perches on a branch.
As you keep exploring with all of your senses,
You notice delicate purple Australian wild flowers,
Growing in a wavy line,
Making a secret trail between the trees and revealing the way to you.
Through the trees,
You come to a billabong,
A bush pond waterhole which has a dreamy mist rising above it.
The billabong is surprisingly relaxing and refreshing to look at.
With crystal clear aqua water gleaming like a turquoise gem in the afternoon sun,
Reflecting the blue skies above.
This pond is covered in bright green lily pads with beautiful blooming water lily flowers in whites and pinks which close their petals at night and reopen at first sunlight.
You look to see what's behind the billabong pond because it is shrouded in white fluffy mist,
Making it all hazy and hard to see.
But the smell of eucalyptus is stronger than ever.
You realise that this too is a clue.
Koalas eat the leaves of eucalyptus trees.
Crusting your senses,
You follow the wildflower trail and the scent of eucalyptus around the billabong and into the mist.
And now you arrive at a dense grove of the strongest,
Freshest trees,
With the healthiest gum leaves and the happiest koalas on the planet.
A grandma koala waddles over and welcomes you kindly to Gumdrop Grove.
You look around in amazement at the adorable koalas and koala families,
Chilling in the trees,
Munching on gum leaves and relaxing in the sunshine.
Grandma Gumdrop tells you that all koalas just love to sleep.
But none more than Gumdrop George.
Gumdrop George sleeps all day and is only awake for two hours to chew some gum leaves and catch up on the goings on of his family and friends at Gumdrop Grove.
He is the sleepiest,
Snooziest,
Dreamiest koala and is also the fluffiest and cutest.
As you poke your head around a tree trunk,
You can see now,
Right there in the safe,
Perfect nook made by branches of the tree,
Is Gumdrop George in his favourite spot.
Just looking at him makes you feel so happy.
Just admiring how adorably cute and fluffy he is makes your heart swell with joy.
He looks just like a teddy bear and you very much want to hold him.
Just then you notice his eyes blink open and he looks at you with a dreamy expression,
Making you feel all sleepy and dozy too.
Gumdrop George smiles at you with his little mouth from under his big leathery nose and waves his little paw at you.
You feed him some gum leaves which he munches lazily and then you reach out and gently pat his soft furry head and feel his fluffy ears.
Gumdrop George reaches out to you and climbs onto your chest,
Wrapping you up in the coziest,
Warmest,
Fluffiest hug you have ever had.
You feel so blissfully happy and peaceful to be hugging the very cutest koala as he nestles sleepily into your chest like a big,
Soft,
Warm,
Safe teddy bear.
You feel so completely relaxed as Gumdrop George starts to doze off,
Making you feel all sleepy and snoozy and dreamy too.
You pat his soft fur gently and place him back in his favourite nook on the tree branch.
And you lie down in the fresh green grass to have a nap yourself.
As you drift off into your happiest and most wonderful sleep in the safety and comfort of Gumdrop Grove.
With your kind and sleepy koala friends,
You are feeling so deeply peaceful.
You trusted your senses to lead you to this perfect place of cosy calm.
And this is where my voice will leave you now.
To doze off safely,
Just like a koala,
And dream happily.
May you enjoy your blissfully sweet dreams.
