Music Now as you're listening in very closely,
Just remember to gently close down your eyes.
And you'll really want to focus in here so well,
Because that's the best way to join in and imagine with this very special bedtime adventure,
Which takes place entirely in the incredible,
Amazing,
Magical space of your very own dreams.
And only the happiest and most fun dreams you can wish for.
So just make yourself as comfortable as you can be.
Lie back and stretch out as you snuggle into your bed.
That's fantastic,
You're doing this perfectly.
And let yourself take deeper breaths to really relax.
As you take in your first big,
Slower breath,
Breathe it all the way in,
And now breathe it all the way out.
And the air moving out lets go of all worries.
And now take in a bigger,
Slower breath,
Even deeper into your chest,
All the way down into your belly.
And now let that breath out a little slower until it flows out like a calm wave.
And notice how much easier it's becoming to really feel you can relax and you can really let go.
Feeling yourself settle and get extra cozy,
Just feeling yourself relaxing a little more.
Well done,
That's great.
And now just breathe in one more big breath,
With your eyes still softly closed,
Inhaling your very best,
Healthiest breath,
All the way down to your belly button.
And now let it go,
All the way out like a peaceful wave.
And if you like,
You can imagine every breath out now,
Flowing out like a colorful cloud.
And this colorful cloud is releasing all worries,
And it really helps you to feel so good.
And now just let your breathing return again to normal,
Because it's something you no longer have to think about for this next little while,
Since you'll continue to be feeling better and better with every breath you take.
And notice how great it feels to let yourself sink a little deeper down into your bed,
Really enjoying the soft support of those comfy surfaces beneath you.
Because now is where our special dream adventures can truly begin.
So just imagine somewhere in your mind's eye,
Imagine and picture you were standing right now in a friendly,
Happy and safe forest.
And there are so many tall and beautiful trees growing all around.
And there are some fallen branches about,
And some colorful patches of autumn leaves on the ground.
And there are even some unusual purple flowers springing up.
And some curious blue mushrooms looking really spongy.
And some very soft,
Lovely green clovers strewn around.
And it's night time here in this quiet forest,
Because there's a giant silver moon shining out so high from above.
And you see lots of gorgeous,
Twinkling stars floating through the night time sky.
And all around you see the silver glow of the giant shining moon,
Lighting up the forest with a loving and soft glow.
And you feel really loved here,
Just so safe and special.
Because you can see under the moonlight,
And it is so easy for you to explore anywhere you want to go.
As you watch the silver moonbeams sparkling down through the air,
They leave a magical kind of twinkling trail.
And you see the sparkling beams seem to illuminate and point to a long and welcoming pathway that seems made just for you.
So you decide to follow this new and inviting trail as it leads you through this friendly,
Lovely night forest.
As you begin exploring down the moonlit path.
Really feeling so warm and cosy here,
Because you feel so protected by the moonbeams,
As you feel so free to wonder and explore about.
And soon enough,
You notice you are the only person here in this whole relaxing forest.
Because there's not another human around as far as you can see,
You have this whole forest all to yourself.
And you can hear the soft chirps of some nighttime crickets nearby.
And you can also hear some pleasant funny chattering of some hidden squirrels,
Who you sometimes see disappearing quickly as they scurry up into their nest.
And you're just exploring along and feeling so good,
So relaxed to be walking with your bare feet,
Since you can feel the crisp crackles of the fallen leaves crunching with a single sound.
So relaxed to be walking with your bare feet,
Since you can feel the crisp crackles of the fallen leaves crunching with a satisfying crunch under your toes.
And it feels all crinkly and tickly,
Like the crunching leaves are massaging your feet so well.
And there's a fresh,
Calming smell of oak woods,
And the scents of pine and maple trees,
As you breathe in through your nose,
And it just relaxes you even more.
As a slight breeze picks up through the forest,
You see the breeze rustle some of the fallen piles of brown and yellow crunchy leaves,
Sending them into a little whirl.
But you can't help but see there's a curious,
New little swirl of a different kind of breeze,
Now appearing there,
Closer by.
Something that looks just like a tiny tornado is growing and building and spinning at the foot of a very tall and very old oak tree.
So you look over to this curious little whirlwind,
And you watch and hear the swirling wind spiralling and spinning about with a buzzing whirr.
As more and more of the crunchy leaves get thrown this way and that,
Some of the floating leaves even fly into your hair as the whirlwind gusts.
Until suddenly,
The little tornado and whirlwind of circling air quickly winds down to a standstill.
And all of a sudden,
You see standing right there on the ground,
Where the whirlwind just was,
There is now a small,
Cute,
Little whirlwind.
There is now a small,
Cute and fluffy brown and grey feathered owl with the widest eyes you've ever seen,
And is looking back at you in surprise.
Who,
Who,
Whoot,
Are you?
Asks the little grey and brown owl.
Well,
You say,
A little surprise too.
I'm just me.
I'm just visiting this lovely forest.
Who are you?
Whoot am I?
Asks the funny little owl.
My name is Oliver,
But you can call me Ollie.
And really,
I can't talk to you right now.
I have something very important to do,
And I'm sorry but I'm just too busy at this moment to show you around.
That's curious,
You think.
What could have such an interesting and funny little owl so very busy in this whole relaxing forest?
Can I help you with something?
You ask,
Since you know it always pays to be kind to others in need.
Well,
Chirps the owl,
I'm looking for something super important,
Something I have to find before bedtime,
Something my momma asked me to find urgently so it will calm her down.
She's really in a bit of a frantic mood about it.
I told her just to be calm,
Because I know I'll find it,
But then again,
I've been flying around like a hurricane,
Flapping here and there for a while.
Okay,
You say,
Well then let's look together.
And you give a big smile as you let Ollie the owl know you'll help him however you can.
Now you see Ollie's large owl eyes light up and shine even more when he hears you tell him this.
And he really does seem to relax some more.
In fact,
He seems quite relieved.
Really?
That's so nice of you,
He says.
Well,
Maybe tonight you can be an honorary owl too.
But you'll need to have some owl eyes,
Just like mine,
To really help if we're going to properly explore.
And suddenly,
As if by a little magic,
You see Ollie jumps up,
And he flaps his wings up into one of the brightest shining beams of twinkling moonlight falling between the nearby tree branches.
And then he seems to swoop a wing swiftly at one of those moonbeams,
Until the moonlight itself bends and bounces with a gust of wind.
And suddenly the moonbeam shimmers and twinkles,
Just for a small moment,
Right before your eyes.
Now as you look about the forest,
You can see very differently,
Because your eyes are seeing just like an owl.
Suddenly everything here in the lovely night forest seems so much brighter and so much clearer and even more lovely.
Because you see all of the beautiful trees and all of the lush green plants and all of the bright green clovers and all of the blue spotted mushrooms and all of the piles of fallen autumn leaves in all of their different shapes.
Everything looks so much better.
It's just like seeing the whole world in super high definition.
And you can even spot the tiny crickets and the little grasshoppers bouncing about as they frolic and play.
And you're even able to catch sight of the cute hidden squirrels before they dart away to hide again in their trees.
It really is so magical to look out at the forest just like an owl.
And you see Ollie looks at you,
Clearly very satisfied with his work.
Now,
Says Ollie,
We're looking for something quite small.
It's also round and it's very pale,
Probably white and snowy in colour.
It would probably fit into the palm of your human hand.
And there might be some blue or yellow spots on it.
I can't quite remember.
Whatever you do though,
Just don't step on it.
Oh,
You say,
After a few moments of thinking about it.
Oh,
You mean something like an egg?
Yes,
Says Ollie,
An egg.
It's my sister owl.
She's still in her egg.
But Mama says she's about to hatch very soon.
She fell out of our tree nest.
Mama owl is really worried my sister will hatch without us.
I do have another brother and sister,
Just so you know.
Their names are Olga and Oddie.
And they're back in our tree,
Keeping watch.
Wow,
An owl egg.
You think,
Well,
This is important.
So quickly you and Ollie make a plan and you both set off together,
Slowly exploring and searching through the nearby forest.
Making sure to look under every branch and to search behind every rock and peer behind every stone around the base of each tree.
As you go,
You see Ollie hops about and flaps his wings a little here and there.
But you can hear him muttering and chirping to himself.
As he says,
OK,
Ollie,
It's best just to relax and keep calm,
Even under pressure.
And even though you're feeling a little bit of pressure and feeling the importance of why you're here,
You're reminded too that it's always best to keep your calm.
Because relaxing helps you to focus your mind and check off the possibility of every new spot.
And then,
All of a sudden,
Behind the very next rock you see,
You spot something down there in a patch of the softest looking green clovers you've ever imagined.
You see something with the powers of your new owl eyesight.
Something that looks very smooth and very white and very round.
And yes,
It's an egg.
An egg just lying here safely on this soft bed of clovers.
This must be Ollie's new sister fallen from her nest.
Very hastily,
You reach down and gently pick up the little egg.
Feeling it so smooth and very warm in your open hand.
But very suddenly,
The egg begins to wobble about.
And right in your hand,
You feel and see the egg starts to move and roll a little side to side.
Until you see a tiny crack appears.
And now a tiny little owl beak is trying to poke out through a tiny,
Tiny hole.
Quick,
You call over to Ollie.
I think I've found your little sister.
And she's about to hatch.
Ollie looks up from his search and suddenly hoots and chirps.
Swiftly,
He flies over to you in an instant.
And he peers closely at the egg.
Yes,
Ollie says,
That's her.
And she's already pecking through her shell.
We better get her up to our nest right away.
So she'll be with my whole family.
Quick,
Hold on to my feet.
And you'll have to hold on to the egg too.
Please don't let it fall again.
And before you can ask what exactly does he mean,
Ollie spreads his owl wings and suddenly flaps up a new and powerful whirlwind.
Just like before.
And suddenly you find you're reaching out with one hand to grab a hold of his feet.
While you cradle and hold on to the precious owl egg with your other hand.
And now you feel your own feet lifting off from the ground.
As you clasp onto Ollie's little claws,
You realise although he may be small,
Ollie's wings are incredibly strong.
And the little owl easily lifts off and now flies you both up and up into the night time air.
And it feels incredible to be lifted and to be flying through the moonbeams.
Feeling the fresh rush of the forest breezes around you,
Ollie flies you both swiftly higher up through the air.
Climbing up and up.
And you see you're circling around an enormous and beautiful oak tree.
And you can feel the wind from Ollie's wings propelling you even higher as you get nearer and nearer to the very strong branches of this giant tree.
Until you see you're flying above even the very tops of all the other trees in the forest.
And now you can look out across all the lands.
You see so many stunning stars in their full clarity in the sky.
And you see the shining moon glowing so brightly upon you as you feel the cool currents of the night air gliding you to a gentle and soft landing again.
And suddenly you're landing,
Touching down on a very sturdy and strong oak branch.
And all of a sudden your feet are on a solid surface of this very wide branch.
And you're standing safely on the mighty tree.
And now you're face to face with three other brown and grey feathered owls.
All of whom are clearly very surprised to see you,
Being the human visitor that you are,
Suddenly standing in their very cosy and very warm owl nest.
Clearly Ollie has brought both of you back to his owl home,
Perched safely here in this magnificent tree.
Hoot hoot,
This is my new human friend.
Ollie says to the other owls,
As their wide owl eyes look on in pure amazement.
My friend is the one who found our sister.
Mama we've found her and she's just about to hatch.
And upon hearing this news,
The larger of the three owls,
Who is very obviously Ollie's kind-faced mother owl,
Hops on over to you as she positively beams with a huge owl smile.
Oh thank you so much,
Mama Owl says to you.
You'll have to hold the egg still though,
So that little Olivia can peck her way out.
And just as Mama Owl tells you this,
You look down to find that indeed,
Little Olivia,
The newly hatching owl,
Is right now pecking at her shell.
And she pecks,
And pecks,
Until her cute fluffy little face suddenly appears.
Hoot,
Says little Olivia,
When she finally pokes her beak and head all the way out.
Hoot,
She says too.
Who and hoot,
Hoot and hoo,
Greet Olivia's family as they all huddle around happily.
And they all smile and laugh and cheer.
All in their special owl language of course,
But you certainly get the gist.
And you feel so happy and so special here too.
So warm inside,
To be holding out your hand as newly hatched Olivia springs all the way out of her shell,
And she's quickly up and flapping about.
Confidently circling and flying right around your head.
Wow,
She's fast,
Says Ollie,
She's just like me.
And she playfully starts pecking a little at your hair,
Which feels just like a relaxing funny tickle.
And after a few minutes of her flying,
Lands gently on your shoulder.
Oh,
She really loves you,
Says Mama Owl.
She already knows you're an owl friend.
Won't you stay and join us?
It's been a long day,
And we're just about to go to sleep.
We have a special and extra cozy bed on our branch here,
Just for you.
And with that,
Ollie the owl hops on over to you and he claps a soft feathered wing against your shoulder.
And that makes you feel extra welcome and really extra special.
Well,
That was a hoot,
Ollie says,
And you all laugh.
Next time,
I might even teach you how to fly.
And that would be something really,
Really special,
You think to yourself,
As you're all beginning to yawn.
And everyone is starting to look and feel extra sleepy.
Even little Olivia is in need of her sleep and rest.
Having expended so much energy just to hatch her way out of her shell,
Which was quite a lot of effort.
You can tell all of Ollie's confidence is going to live on in her as well.
Yet for now,
You feel it is time for you to rest back again.
As Ollie shows you your extra comfy,
Extra soft,
Fluffy owl bed.
You see it's made of the softest green clover grass from the forest.
And also owl feathers that are so snuggly to touch.
And so you just sit down and then lie back completely into this softest clover and feather bed.
Feeling so incredibly safe and protected.
So secure on this mighty,
Wise tree branch.
Because you know that owls only make their best nests in the sturdiest and safest of all supporting trees.
And you're really feeling so ready to just drift and dream away fully.
As the shining,
Twinkling moonbeams continue to glow and sparkle all around you.
You know that tomorrow,
Or when you wake again,
You'll wake up feeling so good.
Having returned to your own comfortable bed in your very own home.
Yet you'll be taking with you all of these happy,
Loving dreams.
All of these happy memories of your fun and free times.
Exploring with your new owl friends,
Helping them out and having so much fun.
And you know you're always so welcome to return back here again.
Welcome to have even more owl adventures with Ollie and Olivia and all of the other owls of the soothing forest.
But right now,
You're just tucking yourself in and nestling in beside your soft feathered friends in their warm,
Cosy nest.
And so very soon,
You're falling fast asleep.
Just dreaming and drifting.
And floating through your happy dreams.
So deeply asleep now.
As you sleep so well.
May you enjoy your sweetest,
Most relaxing,
Happiest of all dreams.

My daughter has listened to this twice now and not made it to the owls yet as she keeps falling asleep. I have and it’s a gorgeous story!
