We've come to the point in our study where we're about to look into the fifth element in this stress-making consciousness,
Where we've seen and understood the idea of an attraction that we have without knowing it,
And how we are separated from reality by the illusion that then is amplified the way that it is,
And all of this falls under a very specific way in which we can see the way in which these forces unfold,
And they are mechanical.
We're going to look at the unseen mechanics of stress.
When our attention is locked onto one small thing and subsequently we see our lives through that psychic pinhole,
Everything in our life for that moment,
Be it a day or a decade,
Serves to feed that particular false view as well as the stress it creates within us.
Surely,
You've seen this principle at work in yourself or others.
It doesn't matter what comes along,
Whatever or whoever it may be,
It's drawn into your stressed state where it's seen as being at least partially responsible for why the pain continues.
Even our own overheating toaster,
Our oven,
Whatever it is at home that just decides not to work,
Seems to become a part of a conspiracy against our happiness.
Because we went in with stress,
We will find stress within.
This runaway nature is like a tornado.
It draws all moments into its winds,
Whirling thoughts,
Stressful feelings that not only create the storm,
But that just like a storm,
Feed it as well.
So we have these five forces,
These five principles that are responsible for the creation and continuation of the cycle of stress.
They are attraction,
Separation,
Isolation,
Amplification,
And machination.
If we look closely at the first letter of each of these principles,
And may I urge you to do so,
Write them down on a piece of paper,
What do these five letters spell out?
You'll see on your piece of paper,
A-S-I-A-M.
Now let's separate these five letters into three groups like this,
AS I AM.
AS I AM.
Remember this short phrase.
It's an acronym for the five inner principles responsible for all of our stress and anxiety.
And with it to remind us,
To remind you in your moment of need,
All that you need to remember is that the moment of stress that has come to take you away from knowing what is right and good and true and healthy for you is because you have been deceived,
Drawn into a world where by attraction,
By separation,
By isolation,
And ultimately through the mechanics of their interaction,
We've become convinced that we have to serve this stressful tyrannical nature,
Instead of seeing through it and being liberated accordingly.
I assure you what I'm describing is possible and even more.
And just for the record,
Stressless living means more energy,
Higher creativity,
Richer relationships,
Deeper compassion,
Less doubt,
Fear,
And confusion,
And finally,
A virtually unshakable sense of personal fulfillment.
In short,
Real success without stress.
This state of harmony is our aim,
But lasting inner peace does not appear by itself.
That much should be clear.
The life without stress we long for is the marriage of a new self-knowledge such as we've been discovering,
Coupled with our willingness to act on it as we know it is true.
And this is where we must begin.
We must begin within what we presently are,
Not in the hope of freedom as we imagine it,
But in the deliberate act of freeing ourselves from what we can see within ourselves as self-sabotaging states.
Start this very moment putting into practice the new understanding you've already gained from your studies with these sessions.
Remember the acronym,
AS I AM.
Don't try to change what you see when stress comes along.
Instead direct your attention onto the mechanics of it,
Onto your understanding gained through what we've studied together,
That not only can you learn how to detect the onset of any stressful thought or feeling,
But you can discover the secret of how to use these same self-defeating forces to step out of their world and into a higher reality in which no stress can appear because you have risen above the level of consciousness responsible for creating it.
Believe me,
You can do this.
I'll see you in the next session.
