We'll get started.
I have a lot of information to pass along today,
A completely new way,
I think,
For you to look and understand some of the work we're doing.
So I think we'll just go ahead and get into our material.
And.
.
.
We'll see where it goes.
I will always leave time as best I can at the end of the presentation so that we can have a short chat.
Cover a few questions or comments if there is time to do so.
Katie,
Will you?
Bring up please the title of the talk.
Everybody you can read along with me.
It says,
Invite revelation to free you from repeating painful experiences.
So I suppose I need to ask,
Even though I know the answer.
Isn't it amazing?
Especially for some of us.
Some of you who have been working for a long time,
Ideally trying to find a way to be a new human being that we can keep having.
The same kind of painful experiences,
Maybe with different people in different places,
But nevertheless.
The painful experiences continue to repeat,
Do they not?
I'm asking you.
It's always good for us to.
Have some point of communication where you and I are in correspondence so that we can make all the proper connections.
And of course,
The.
The highlight,
If you will,
Of these painful experiences,
As we've been talking about for the last week or two,
Is that all of a sudden I feel trapped.
We talked about being trapped last weekend,
The weekend before.
And what I want to do with you is look at this more deeply now so that we can start to recognize What is the nature of this trap that is so repetitive?
Where maybe I'm not trapped by my habitual reaction to what you didn't do for me,
But instead I'm trapped by my judgment of someone who gave me something I didn't want.
You fill in the blanks.
The point is,
Is that we need to have a new understanding if we hope to change our relationship with this world that we are in,
Which is the point of our talk today.
So Kate,
Let's bring up the first key lesson.
Pretty simple one.
It says,
There is no room at the inn of thought for the birth of anything new.
There is no room at the inn of thought for anything new.
What's that saying,
Simply?
It's saying that as long as a human being continues to enter into the moment,
Where thought defines the moment and then that person is confined to whatever the content is of those thoughts,
You can see there's no chance for anything new taking place at that level in that world.
Can we see this together as true?
Because if we can,
I want to show you something.
It's a question,
Actually.
And I do want you to consider it.
I'll answer it at the end myself.
We're here on the bay.
Where I live there are eagles,
Beautiful golden eagles.
They like to sit on this little dock out here.
Eat their dinner.
Who doesn't deliver it,
By the way?
Why doesn't an eagle fear a spider's web?
Or a snow rabbit worry about the whereabouts of a desert coyote?
Understand the question?
An eagle doesn't fear a spider's web.
A rabbit that lives in the mountaintops doesn't worry about a coyote roaming through the valley.
Why?
They both live in the same world,
Don't they?
Yes,
They live in the same world,
But here's the point.
They live in the same world,
But they live at different levels.
They live in the same world,
But they live at different levels so that the level of the eagle doesn't worry about the level of the spider web.
The level of the snow rabbit doesn't worry about the level of the coyote in the desert.
So I'm making a point.
That we can live in one world,
But in one world,
There are multiple levels.
And some levels do not have to be afraid of others because they are in relationship in a broader sense,
But have no relationship to one another in terms of the individual experience of the creatures involved.
Can you see this much with me before I go on?
Because we're going to make a point that some of us may not be too fond of,
But we have to do it.
You and I,
To whatever extent it's true,
Believe,
We imagine,
That we live above our present level.
We imagine that we live above our present nature.
Blake,
The fox blames the trap.
The Fox believes it is at a different level than the trap it just stumbled into.
And it believes that as we do that we are above our present nature,
This often angry,
Worried,
Frightened sense of self,
We believe we are above it until the trap springs shut.
And when it does spring shut,
What happens?
We find ourselves caught again and I'll answer for us.
What do we do?
I just call it rinse and repeat.
I get caught.
I can't believe that happened.
I can't believe you did this.
I can't believe it.
Why me?
Indicates that I believe I should be in and treated by a world that I'm not in.
And yet life keeps showing me I'm in the world where not only do I get caught in a trap,
But the world I'm in is where the traps are themselves.
Do you follow me?
And it's up to you to see whether or not this is true,
Because if you can see it's true,
Then it begs a question of us,
Which will set this talk.
What do you and I look to what do we look for?
In these moments where we recognize captive again.
How am I going to change?
What is it that's going to change me?
Do you see it?
What's going to change me?
I thought it was changed.
And if we can see it,
This is why there's no nothing new at the end of thought,
The same nature that I got trapped in because I couldn't see myself in it.
Then begins to do what?
It starts to suggest,
A,
Well,
You learned the lesson from this experience,
Didn't you?
Did you?
No.
Well,
The next experience,
Which by the way,
Is always determined by the part of us trying to get as far away as we can from the trap that we just stumbled into.
The next experience is going to do it.
And we think to ourselves,
After all we've been through.
.
.
Surely we've changed.
And we can cling to this idea that we've changed until,
Like St.
Paul,
Suddenly we see,
I'm doing the evil I would not instead of the good that I would.
Why can't I repeat the good stuff?
Why can't I repeat what I know is true?
I don't repeat the good stuff,
I repeat the bad stuff.
Yes or no?
Because if evidence.
.
.
Abounds,
That experience itself,
If it was going to elevate us,
Transform us,
If it was going to do that,
Then the oldest amongst us would be the wisest.
Or the one who suffered the most would be the one who's most free.
Does that sound right to you?
It seems to me,
The older people get,
The more cynical they become.
The more hardened they become,
Relying on the identity derived from thinking about experience,
Instead of seeing that it's thinking about experience that has them trapped.
And keeps them trapped when events bring up experience.
I look at the experience through the eyes of my past.
I look at the experience through those eyes and all those eyes see are the reasons why,
Once again,
I'm having the repeated experience of a painful moment.
Everybody following me?
Because if you are,
Then I'm going to go on.
So experience,
We can give it credit.
I'm not saying we don't change at all.
I'm just saying that real change doesn't mean that a small part of me senses something different.
And then the rest of me just goes on and does what it does.
Experience definitely enhances our vocabulary.
We become masters at explaining stuff.
The experience can make some of us sharper in terms of street smarts.
It certainly experience shapes our preferences.
But for instance,
In the experience that shapes preferences.
Can you see now my preference goes before me to ensure that if the preference isn't met,
Then I meet pain.
So experience didn't release me from that consciousness attached to its ideas of what it has to have.
Instead of liberating me the way we know experience and the lessons in it are intended to,
Experience that way actually becomes the trap.
Hope I didn't go too fast.
Hope you got that.
We fall into an experience that is intended to reveal to us the nature of the self-trapped,
And instead the experience becomes not just the continuation of the trap,
But we get trapped in the experience of explaining to ourselves what just happened.
Everybody following this critical that I know.
I also like to see.
The response on the screen here because it tells me that I'm not disconnected.
That's happened before.
I sat here and talked once for 15 minutes and no one was there.
So what else is new?
Everybody getting it?
Usually.
The most important experiences.
Bring the most important lessons.
But you can see with me some of the most important lessons.
Come to us and experiences that we don't want.
Isn't that true?
Certain,
The things that may have actually had some,
A molecular input changing structure.
When they first come,
I want nothing to do with them.
A great loss,
A great pain,
You fill in the blanks.
And I don't want that moment.
And the reason I don't want that moment and resist it is because that moment has come.
And rather than the purpose of that moment and the lesson in it,
Which is to help me see and understand that I am always meeting the moment that has come to liberate me from something that promises to free me,
Which is a memory,
A body of thoughts that call on past experience,
Measure and judge what just happened.
And then say,
Oh,
I understand.
And then it says,
Do this,
Do that.
And we obey caught in a trap.
We don't see as being a trap.
Were the main purpose.
Instead of it being,
I don't want this,
I want that.
Is to help us see in that moment that the bulk of our suffering is born out of being identified with some unseen demand that we came into the moment with,
Some attachment that we brought with us into the moment.
That's what the lesson is trying to show us.
Not to help us prove to ourselves that we know the lesson,
And then what?
Double down on the identity derived from repetitive experience,
And then call on that same experience again when it has proven itself useless.
So that experience.
The lesson is meant to reveal the trap.
Not become a part of it.
The lesson in the experience is meant to reveal the trap,
Not to become a part of it.
But as we become further and further identified with this sense of self struggling,
Caught in that trap going on,
I'm the one,
I'm the one who got hurt,
Who was betrayed.
I'm the one who succeeded and I deserve better than this.
I know better than you do all of that dialogue.
Is doing what?
It is validating the sense of being a victim because it's explaining in that moment,
The experience,
Except it's explaining it by doing what?
By dividing us up into the experience that we're the eyes of an old experience,
Looking at what should be a new experience.
Where a self that doesn't exist apart from that resistance is then fashioned so that any moment that challenges some idea,
A belief of ours,
Some demand we don't know,
Instead of being liberated from the nature carrying those conflicting states,
We become further captured by them.
What might and is intended to be a transcendent moment becomes a circle.
Which is why these painful experiences keep repeating themselves.
And in that circle of repetitive experience or this identity,
This sense of self is strengthened.
And as the sense of self,
This identity is strengthened,
Then it's what goes into the next experience for us,
Looking at it and then trying to confirm itself once again,
By not wanting what it knows shouldn't happen or believing it can change what it didn't want because it calls on experience to guide it.
Still with me,
Everybody.
Because if experience alone,
And this is critical here.
And again,
I'm not throwing the baby out with the bath water here.
I can look myself at certain experiences in my own life.
Of all different ilk.
And there's no doubt that when that true shock comes,
That there isn't something fundamental changed in the psychological system,
The mind,
The heart and the body.
Something that isn't a part of the usual movement has come in and shocked the whole of that movement so that there is a bit of a residual a new kind of memory,
Something that is not experience you can call on,
But that is there in the moment of habitual experience as a kind of observation point to help you maybe remember not to get so involved as you always do.
So if experience alone,
As I've described,
It changes nothing.
What is it that we're not seeing in the moment of that event?
Here comes an experience.
It'll happen today,
500 times in one way or another.
Someone will say something,
You'll go somewhere,
Things won't be ready.
You make a plan,
It'll get messed up.
Anything can happen.
In those moments,
What is it I don't see?
What am I not seeing and why don't I see it if what I'm describing to you is true?
In short.
In those moments where this resistance comes up,
We're looking at the wrong thing.
In short.
See it with me.
What am I looking at in a moment I don't want?
What are you looking at in a moment when you don't want it?
The answer is I'm looking at one of two things.
I'm looking at the moment.
And I'm blaming what I call the moment,
Which is really the meaning I've given to it.
I'm looking at my own meaning.
For the pain,
Or I'm looking at the me.
Who feels this pain.
So I'm,
I'm never looking anywhere other than what this condition nature is pointing to.
And blaming as the source of its captivity.
So I'm looking at the wrong thing.
Can you see that?
With me.
My attention goes to my thoughts.
My attention goes to the reaction.
So I'm looking at the wrong thing.
And why am I looking at the wrong thing?
Follow this now.
Because in those moments,
I'm deceived into looking in the wrong direction.
I look at the wrong thing,
These thoughts,
These reactions,
These memories,
These regrets,
These negative states.
I'm looking at the wrong thing because I've been deceived into looking in the wrong direction.
Now,
What does that mean?
Looking in the wrong direction.
This is what we are going to study together,
Because if I can look,
And the right thing.
And look in the right direction,
Then obviously the moment holds some lesson for me.
I won't be isolated.
Instead,
I will be incorporated into the whole of that movement.
Let's see.
And you look at me with this,
Please.
In the shock of a moment we don't want,
The mind looks for reasons.
And I don't know if you've seen this,
Your mind always finds the reason why you're in pain.
Doesn't it?
And it finds the reason for the trap,
The pain for being caught,
Finds the reason where.
Outside of me.
Or it finds the reason in judging me.
And judging me is still out there.
It's not in me.
So we find the reasons outside of us.
And then having found them.
We think to ourselves,
Well.
.
.
It thinks to itself,
Well now that I know the reason,
Here's the solution.
And I get the solution from the reason and the reason belongs to memory.
So the solution is the continuation of the past.
So if I'm looking in the wrong place and in the wrong direction,
Then I have to start looking in a new direction at something else in that moment.
Because the level of self.
For instance,
That can see.
That it is looking.
How do I say that?
The part of us that can see.
Yes.
The part of us that can see where we're looking,
Not,
Not difficult.
I can see.
From time to time that I'm looking for a reason why I'm angry.
Now,
Ordinarily,
I don't think to myself,
I'm looking for a reason why I'm angry.
I'm just angry.
And then I have the reasons.
But from time to time,
If we've achieved any separation,
We can see the mind is scrambling.
It's looking for why it's anxious.
And if I can see the mind looking for a reason why it is anxious or afraid,
That proves that there is another level of consciousness that is not simply along the line of that reaction.
Are you able to follow that thought with me?
Because it's very important.
So that level of seeing belongs to an order of understanding that we can't pursue as an object.
We think we can pursue understanding as an object.
So we read another spiritual book and come up with something else.
We can quote to relieve us from the pain of being a captive,
But it doesn't relieve us.
It actually validates the victim because I need to call on this to save myself.
When you are awake,
You don't need to call on anything to be saved because you are living in a space where you can't be captured by anything negative.
So we can't pursue an object of thought.
We can't manufacture this understanding through effort.
And we certainly can't possess understanding when it appears,
Because if we could possess understanding when it appears,
We would keep it with us wherever we go,
And it would straighten everything out.
So what is this level of seeing?
That belongs to this higher order of understanding.
We're working towards this idea.
We're gonna simply call it revelation.
Revelation is not information added to the person that we already are.
Revelation is not information that we can go looking for.
Revelation is a kind of light in which that which had been previously concealed becomes evident.
For instance,
By revelation,
I can see the part of me go looking for reasons why I should be mad.
And that same revelation can reveal that the parts of me looking for reasons why I should be mad can see it's looking to the past to validate the pain.
So now it knows what to do.
I'm trying to go slow enough so everybody can stay on the same page.
Do you see it with me?
So in that light,
We see not only what has happened,
But at the same time,
In that light,
We can see the nature in us that is inseparable from what is happening in that moment.
Revelation allows us to see that that nature reacting is inseparable from the moment it is reacting to.
They are a singularity that seem to be separate because the mind that reacts can find reasons outside of itself,
Which aren't outside of itself,
To justify all of the pain that it's in.
And in seeing that nature.
If we can.
For instance,
If I actually see that I'm about to call on the same response that I've had for 50 years when you mistreated me,
The same enemy,
The same construction of the conflict there,
If I can see all that,
I can recognize,
You know what,
That revelation shows me that's useless,
That experience,
I don't want that experience again.
But that nature that only knows itself through experience,
Where am I going to go?
Where is it going to look?
You'll feel all of that.
Because now.
The moment comes,
The revelation,
And listen to this.
See,
Revelation doesn't come with explanation.
You turn on a light in a dark room,
Do you need to explain to yourself what you see in the room?
Revelation doesn't come with explanation.
So if you're listening to an explanation,
It's not revelation.
Certainly revelations have no excuses in them.
The excuse is born out of the resistance to what has been revealed.
And obviously revelations never condemn what they are showing because they're there showing,
If anything,
The part of us that wants to condemn someone or ourselves for those reactions.
Can you,
Are you still going?
So if I can see that nature,
If revelation is allowed,
Then I'm no longer trapped.
At that level of being.
Just as the eagle isn't trapped by the spider web,
Neither is this new understanding trapped by the lower understanding that formerly defined and confined us to that moment.
If you're still following me,
Then I want to help you now understand some of what I've been describing.
I've got to go faster.
I'm taking too much time.
Years ago,
I spoke about this.
I think I did.
It still happens.
It's June bug time here in Florida.
But back in Oregon,
Often there would be a fly inside of my house and I would watch this fly inside of the house and invariably,
And you can see it yourself,
The fly always flies in what direction?
Towards the window.
And why does the fly go towards the window?
Because it's drawn.
As our all.
Creatures really drawn to the light outside.
But the fly runs into the window pane.
Boop.
And then trying to get to the light,
It begins to climb up the window pane because it's looking for a way out and it's looking for the way out so that it can be free again.
Now there's no little creature going,
Oh my God,
I'm stuck.
I'm getting,
You know,
That's not happening.
It's all innate in the creature.
And again and again,
That little fly,
It'll make,
It'll boom,
It'll make the ascent,
Only to fall back where it began,
Over and over again.
Have you seen this so you get the picture in mind?
Those actions also evidence something that isn't clear to us.
That little creature,
That little fly.
Knows that moving upward is connected with getting out.
It knows that moving upward is leaving the place that it's in and heading more in the direction of what it believes the light outside awaits for it so that it can reenter the freedom of open spaces.
So the instinct,
The instinct of that insect is not false.
What it doesn't understand is it has an incomplete understanding of the barrier between it and the freedom that it seeks.
Now usually we,
You and I,
Think of up as the opposite of down.
Up is for us basically no more than a direction even though it may be an emotional one.
I'm feeling up as opposed to down.
But for us,
Up and down,
They exist as a singularity.
They don't exist without each other.
But I'm asking you to see the following and to feel it.
Perhaps the innate longing that we have When we run into the pain,
The P-A-N-E and the P-A-I-N of another repeated painful experience,
Perhaps that longing to rise and go past that is more than just this physical impulse I've described.
I'm suggesting that that's a celestial impulse,
An actual divine directive,
But we don't know how to.
Incarnate that kind of divine directive because experience then jumps in,
Which has nothing divine in it and starts to tell us and direct us what it means to get up and out and to be free.
So now I want you to understand this longing that you have.
That all somewhat human beings experience.
When is this feeling isn't to try to move up the social ladder,
Move up through possessions,
Not move up through what you imagine will free you.
Not move up in terms of imagine what's needed in order to get out because that's where we go.
What do I need to do to get out of this situation?
More money,
More approval,
So forth and so on.
No,
Not get out.
But I want you to think about this.
What is the feeling of opening?
Not the feeling of moving!
Of arriving,
Of departing.
What is the feeling of opening,
Of opening up?
We don't know that feeling.
We know a little bit of it when we're in nature,
Perhaps,
Because we will naturally open ourselves to the flood of impressions so that we can share in the unity of that harmony.
But as a rule,
Nothing in us is open.
We say we're open to new experiences as long as the experience looks like what we had before or is better than the old one.
Do you see this with me?
Stop trying to move up!
Understand what it means to open up,
To let in the life-renewing light of revelation,
The life-renewing light of revelation to release you from the illusion that you can be made a captive of any world that you can see inside of yourself.
Look,
Is there anything.
.
.
In a dark desert valley that can somehow trap and capture the light that shines on a high mountaintop.
Anything in that valley can it do one thing And the answer is no.
Well,
The same is true when it comes to you spiritually,
But now you must understand.
That what you see has no authority over you?
But that you are given authority over everything that is within you by that which reveals it to you,
Except the authority is not power.
The authority is now that you are a participant in another level of being that can't be made a captive of anything beneath itself,
Which is what the divided mind is constantly doing and creating.
So to understand this,
We have to redefine what it means to rise.
You're always trying to lift yourself up.
The world tells you,
Lift yourself up.
And in one respect,
Yeah,
You get knocked down,
Get up,
All the rest of that.
I don't have any argument with what this world wants to tell you.
If you think that what the world is going to tell you is going to free you from the hell of trying to be someone and something in this world,
That's your business.
I'm looking at what it means for us to enlarge our understanding.
So that instead of trying to rise above the condition our mind points to as being the conflict,
We see the nature in conflict,
And in seeing the nature in conflict,
Lo and behold,
We're not trying to rise.
We're already above it in the natural God-given space that we have to find the liberation.
Outside the pain.
The true and inexhaustible meaning of going inward.
Is Open up.
People,
I'm going,
I'm doing,
I'm working inwardly.
You're working in thought.
But if you will open.
I'm sitting at my desk,
I'm talking to my husband,
I'm with my children,
I'm in my car,
And there's traffic,
There's a problem,
There's some pain repeating itself.
If you can see it,
What happens,
Everything closes down.
And it closes down because that nature,
Whether you understand it or not,
By resisting,
It believes it's protecting itself from the experience it's giving itself.
Imagine.
You don't need to protect yourself from the experience you have in this life.
You need to see the part of you that believes it's in danger and forever trying to save itself by doing what?
By rising above,
Getting a little more of this,
Going someplace new,
Getting this experience,
Going there,
Distraction,
Driving yourself mad,
Which you have to do because that's all that those kinds of experiences can do is validate in one respect,
This sense of self that can't get away from itself and never stops trying.
Kate,
Let's bring up the second key lesson,
Please.
I really got to get going.
Read along with me,
Everybody.
This connects with everything I just said.
All forms of thinking are an extension,
At best,
A progression of memory.
But freedom is not found in any form of knowledge,
Let alone in the passage of time.
To go inward is to go upward.
Upward is to open.
It means to bring a new and dedicated attention To what?
To not just what we see in that moment,
Because we described it.
When I have a problem,
The first thing I see is the reason.
The last thing I see is that the reason I'm looking at has been given to me by the trap maker itself.
So I need to go inward.
I need to understand that my destination is revelation.
It's not a time,
It's not a place.
It's not a condition I can control,
But it's part of a consciousness that I'm already within,
Except I don't know how to live within it or enter into it.
In this interior exploration I'm describing,
There is no contest.
Do you ever see how competitive you are with people?
God help us,
Even with your own family.
There's no contest over who's going to possess the best seat at the table or who's going to own this where others don't.
There's no contest over who understands more and who doesn't.
There's no worry that somebody may get some light that you don't?
Because in this new world,
This open world,
Freedom has no end.
It can no longer be understood as an outcome to acquire.
Instead,
It becomes a constantly present condition.
Of a consciousness exploring itself and finding within itself both the trap maker and that which can see with great clarity.
I don't need to step into that.
I can do something else with my attention.
Kate,
Bring up the third key lesson,
Please.
A miser!
And nobody likes that word.
All thinking human beings are misers.
They collect memories,
They collect experiences,
They put them in a vault.
A miser doesn't escape greed by counting his coins.
And we do not escape limitation by collecting experiences.
Real freedom has no beginning,
So it has no end,
Any more than the sky starts in the east and ends in the west.
We do not escape limitation by collecting experiences.
The experience of limitation is because we look to experience to explain the trap that we're in.
The consciousness by which we search.
Is also the country being disclosed.
This is the greatest secret there is.
You are exploring yourself.
And conditions make it possible and provide new energies.
So that in the arrival of these new energies and the old,
In quotes,
Conditions they meet,
Something new can be conceived.
The saints,
The masters,
Prophets,
Mystics,
Whatever you want to call them,
They always pointed to this kind of understanding,
That the traveler and the territory being explored are not separate.
This is why they never talked about how a person should have a more impressive identity,
Some more protected position,
Or live for some desired time to come.
All of these teachings point to another dimension.
Already present in every moment,
Which is why Christ said,
Behold,
The kingdom of the God is within you.
If the kingdom of heaven is within me,
There's no time,
There's no distance,
There's not even an experience separate from the kingdom itself.
There's just experience itself.
There's just revelation,
Which is the ground of experience.
They are not separate.
They serve one another.
And those of us who can begin to understand and enter in and open can begin to live that way.
So we move in this respect.
Upward by going inward,
And inward takes on the new meaning of being open.
Open to all the impressions.
Open to allowing our attention to enter into every crook and nanny of whatever that negative state may be.
So then rather than shunning the experience of ourself,
Because we shouldn't have that kind of consciousness,
We understand there is that consciousness like the spider web in the valley.
And there's also the eagle and the snow bunny that doesn't worry about those things because it can see them from where it lives and from its own true nature.
So we begin,
Which is the point,
We begin to see there's nothing real to avoid.
We agree to meet the whole of ourselves without.
.
.
Agreeing to be confined.
By some nature saying,
Oh,
That load,
What about that?
We agree to open up so that we can see.
With clarity and greater clarity ideally and sooner than later.
How there is nothing that,
You know,
Christ said,
I go before you to make the crooked places straight.
You need to understand the way you are now.
Experience goes before you to make sure you repeat the experience you don't want.
Then when you can see that,
You won't remand yourself over to the content of that memory.
You won't go looking for reasons.
You won't try to console yourself.
Because you'll understand that the nature drawn into trying to do that is already a captive of the very thing it's trying to heal.
I gotta finish this up.
We don't chase revelation.
You can't chase revelation.
We just need to be open in the moment when it's there.
And that requires a willingness to remain open with what is shown long enough so that we see how something immediately wants to take all of that energy and convert it into blame.
Wants to use all of that energy inherent in this revelation of these forces and turn it into resistance,
Explanation,
Or add another chapter to the story of ourselves.
Kate,
Let's bring up the fourth key lesson,
Please.
Attention does not.
Manufacture the truth.
Attention does not manufacture truth.
It witnesses what the light of the moment makes visible.
Attention.
I need to be attentive.
I need to keep my attention,
If you will,
In remaining as open as I can so all of these influences can make themselves known,
Listen,
Not as something outside of myself,
But revealing the parts of myself that are intended to be acted on by them so that then awareness can see the whole movement and we can live,
If you want to say it in this way,
Of an eagle or on the mountaintop.
Stay open.
When everything in you wants to close down,
Stay open.
Here's the summary key lesson,
Then I'll have a few minutes to spend with you.
We rise above the experience of limitation.
Of those repetitive painful experiences by seeing how we're deceived into identifying with the unconscious nature that creates it.
Then there is nothing to escape.
Because there is no longer anyone there by our name that feels trapped.
Our vessel is the moment.
Attention is the witness.
And the destination is revelation.
And all of that is in this beautiful openness.
That awaits our entrance into it and our acceptance of what is revealed in it so that we can understand this essential unity that can never be trapped because it contains within it all things,
Including you and I.
We can open this up now.
We have four or five minutes if you wish.
That we can share together online.
If you have any comments or questions,
Anything that I can help you understand better,
I'm happy to do that.
And I would just throw in here,
And I think it's fairly important to do so,
If you can,
Don't miss tomorrow.
Tomorrow's talk.
I,
Uh.
.
.
I'm going to look at this in a way that I've never looked at it before deeply enough.
That you may just have a new revelation to fuel,
God willing,
The fire.
The flame that wants to rise up.
And be released.
Son of man has no place to lay his head,
Connected to no room at the inn.
It may extract and I wouldn't fight with your own intuition,
But explore it.
Don't believe it to be a conclusion.
In fact,
That's the whole point,
Isn't it?
Experience always has conclusion wrapped in it.
I go to look for experience because I've concluded that'll make me happy.
Or an experience is explained to me by my own mind,
And then the matter is solved,
It's concluded.
There's no conclusion.
In Revelation.
That's what it means to be open.
May Tia meet suit open to these beautiful truths and not get hijacked by what feels like the overwhelm of practical life and the world.
Yeah.
I understand.
I do understand,
Rhea.
Rebecca,
I understand.
So that's kind of the beauty of what I'm describing eventually.
It takes time.
Something has to be formed within you.
That there is a vessel for,
But there isn't really yet what is intended to enter into it.
And it is a.
.
.
A process in one respect,
But instantaneous.
Rebecca.
The more I see how any condition can trigger inside of me this unwanted moment,
The more interested I become,
God willing.
And why does that keep repeating itself?
Why is that impatience always there?
Why is anger the first step?
Why is anxiousness always trailing on the heel of that unexpected moment?
And the more that I can ask myself those questions inwardly and remain open to what is given to me by knocking at that door,
I will see something open and I will gain a new understanding about that nature.
That is what it means to rise and move up and out.
Because as we grow in understanding,
We are outgrowing our former understanding.
As we grow in understanding,
We are outgrowing our former understanding.
None of us believe that the problem is with what we understand.
We just think we need more understanding.
Experience,
Calling on experience is not understanding.
Seeing,
However,
What was formed in that moment of experience isn't in thought,
It's present.
And if you're present to it,
Then you can't be made a prisoner of any similar corresponding experience.
Do your work.
Remember.
Here it is.
Can I be open?
I'm sitting at the dinner table with family and friends.
Someone makes a snide comment.
Can I be open?
My mind reminds me of a health problem.
Suddenly,
I can feel something want to close down.
It knows the experience.
Can I be open?
If you can learn what it means to feel open,
You will find freedom because openness and inwardness are one and the same thing.
