This droplet emphasizes that not always the first idea is the best one. Thinking plurally may help us find resources we didn't know we had. A very wiseperson once asked if anyone knew the best way forward. An even wiserperson asked and why are you so sure that it really is the best.

Hi,

I'm Graeme Dexter with a short Droplet of Wisdom.

I call this one Avoid the First Solution.

There are many sayings about ways and means of getting things done,

And some involve pretty horrible terms involving cats.

So without further ado,

Let's find better ways of realising your goals or dreams.

Imagine that you've now settled on your dream,

Or even just an important goal that you want to achieve or accomplish.

You may already have decided on the perfect solution,

And if you have,

I think that's marvellous.

However,

Many first solutions that occur to you are probably best avoided.

Remember that every plan you make to achieve your goal can probably be made better by considering the following.

Think plural.

Think not only of the first gem,

But just how many gems you might have.

How many,

How many,

How many is the watchword for generating plentiful plans,

Actions and resources.

For example,

How many people,

People like friends,

Colleagues,

Workmates,

Professionals,

Trainers,

Organisers might help you.

Places,

Like libraries,

Institutions,

Advice centres,

Banks,

Shops,

They might help.

Thinking wide as possible.

Ideas,

Things,

Organisations and even the ridiculous,

Ludicrous or outrageous might in some way be helpful.

Do you know anyone who's ever succeeded achieving your goal?

How did they do it?

So,

My advice is this,

Leave the cat alone.

Just ponder and find your best resources.

Thanks for listening to this droplet of wisdom.
