The Lords Prayer: Reflection and Prayer - Matthew 6:9-13
by Ambe Long
Ambe leads this reading and meditation of The Lords Prayer Matthew 6:9-13. As those around Jesus asked how should they pray, He responded with The Lords Prayer. In humble surrounds He asks our prayers be simple. This is a reflective, contemplative prayer and a meditation of gratitude, abundance and forgiveness. The music soothes the soul, gives glory to our God, and praises to our Father in Heaven.

Hi there,
This is Ambie from Gospel Talk.
I'll be reading the Lord's Prayer for this meditation and we can reflect upon parts of the passage.
If you have your Bibles with you I'm reading from Matthew 6 verse 9.
I'll be reading from King James Version.
I do love the World Messianic Version.
I like reading the ESV and the message have a good take on it too.
In your daily activities choose the one that resonates with you.
I have chosen King James because I really love this one.
When I read it I feel super super connected to the Lord.
I think it's because the one I've been reading since I was very young.
So here we are.
Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
In earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
Amen.
Is anything ever so concise,
Said so much?
I'm sure that when you read through it too,
That you realise that when Jesus spoke to his disciples and the people that day and explained how to pray,
That it didn't have to be showy or he preferred if you prayed peacefully and humbly.
And I think that's the key to this,
To praying humility.
The ego can be quite forceful sometimes,
As Peter says,
Also the flesh can lead us astray.
And the spirit can be weak,
But I really believe reading this prayer out aloud and reflecting and meditating on it now,
Really captures the essence of what Jesus wants us to do.
Remember he wants us to do here what is in heaven.
We are to be grateful for his provision and we are to forgive as we are forgiven.
That is so important when we forgive as we are forgiven.
There's such liberty,
Such peace,
Such love.
And remember,
Yes,
Not to be led into temptation.
Call upon the Lord and read this,
I would suggest every morning before going out into the world,
Because it is a tempting one.
And I believe when we read this,
We're asking the Lord ahead of our schedule,
Ahead of what we're doing,
That we are not led in those directions,
That we have his supernatural power with us to draw upon and ask humbly.
And that we are delivered from evil when we do fall into those temptations.
That there is a way out.
There is always a way out with Jesus.
Such a great,
Great reminder.
Because remember,
As it says,
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
Yes,
Please read this or say it to yourself every day.
Just to remind yourself there is a greater God and this is such a wise and beautiful,
Humble instruction.
And it's a prayer.
And as Matthew mentions,
You don't have to be showy in your prayer.
You go into your closet,
Go into a quiet place or humbly pray with another.
But it's not to show off about your faith.
It's to really humbly be connected with the Lord and grateful and to act out his love.
So we'll get into our meditative position.
And I will read through parts of the meditation and then there will be some quiet for reflection.
For your own personal reflection and time with our Lord.
So that you know you can really have some quality interaction and stillness with Jesus or the Holy Spirit as you wish.
God.
So that sometimes we really needed some rest and other times we need some revelation.
Other times some conversation.
Other times prayer and other times lots of times forgiveness.
And I pray that this meditation is a way for you to deeply connect and to do that in a really humble and peaceful way.
Okay.
So I ask you to make yourself comfortable.
If you are sitting in a chair,
Both feet on the ground,
If you can take your shoes off.
It's usually really wonderful because you can really ground yourself to the earth below you.
And hands by your side.
And your lap.
I actually like to hold my hands sometimes in my palms or prayer and my thumbs together.
I just find that that's a nice way to centre.
If you're lying down,
If you're lying down for any reason,
Just make sure that you're not overheated.
That the blanket is light and warm and you're comfortable.
If it's hot,
Have some water with you and hopefully some kind of breeze coming through.
Gentle.
And if you're cold,
Make sure that you're wrapped up.
So we'll start with our breathing.
Breathe in.
Hold.
And breathe out.
For those that live near the ocean,
You can visualise waves coming into the shore,
Crashing and going out.
Building up.
Waves crashing.
Going out.
Building up.
Breathing is very similar.
There are pauses in between.
But all very regular and very,
You don't need to strain.
Just naturally.
For those that live where there are birds,
Watch how birds wings are in full flight.
Just naturally going with the breeze.
Up.
In.
And out.
Anything with a natural rhythm.
And ultimately,
Let's focus on our breath.
Focus on the breath coming in.
Hold.
And release.
Breathe in.
Hold and release.
Any tension.
Again.
Our Father,
Who died in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Oh God,
You're in heaven.
Your name is so holy.
Praise you Lord.
We pray that your kingdom comes and that your will be done here,
Where we are,
Just as it is in heaven.
Whatever you will Lord.
In heaven,
May we do here on earth.
We have quiet reflection as we hear what the Lord has to say in regard to what his will is.
It can be personal.
It can also be connected to the greater good.
Only five minutes of peace and reflection upon this.
The Lord's will.
Here.
As it is in heaven.
As it is in heaven.
As we further reflect,
Give us this day.
We are going to pray our daily bread.
Please take a few moments to meditate on the daily bread that you're praying to the greatest provider for.
Is it physical sustenance?
Is it guidance?
Is it rehabilitation?
Is it fellowship?
Shelter?
Safety?
Or is love?
So yes please,
Meditate on what our daily bread is.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Please take a few moments to meditate on what our daily bread is.
That's your humble prayer to the Lord for your daily bread and the reward that he is giving you.
As we so humbly,
Gratefully pray for this,
I bow my head in humility as I read the next two lines which state and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
We ask the Lord to forgive us as we forgive.
Does this not also imply that we must be aware of who to forgive and what we need to be forgiven for?
I ask as Christ is with you that you open up any areas that you really know or maybe you're not fully aware of that he can draw light upon that require forgiveness in any area of your life or on this world beyond.
Let us reflect upon forgiveness and who we need to forgive and what we need to be forgiven for.
Let us reflect upon forgiveness and who we need to forgive and what we need to be forgiven for.
Let us reflect upon forgiveness and who we need to forgive and what we need to be forgiven for.
Let us reflect upon forgiveness and who we need to forgive and what we need to be forgiven for.
Now,
After reflecting on forgiveness,
We ask the Lord that we are not led into temptation.
Temptation comes in so many forms.
It can be insidious.
It can be obvious.
We ask that we are not led into temptation,
But that we are delivered from evil.
There is a lot of evil in many,
Many forms.
We pray that we are not led into temptation in the first place,
But if we are,
That we are actually delivered from evil.
We pray peacefully for a few minutes on areas that we know we are tempted in and that we have God's incredible strength and love,
All encompassing love and protection in these times.
That we are wise and discerning and that we hear him clearly and follow him implicitly and led by our shepherd Jesus and through signs and sparks of idea from the Holy Spirit that we are not led into temptation and that when we do go down that path,
We are delivered from evil,
Put back on the mark.
What area of temptation is the one that is trying to pull you off where you should be,
Where you know you are being led?
Ask for God's strength and protection and love.
Amen.
I pray that you are not led into temptation and you are delivered from evil,
My Lord.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever,
Forever,
For eternity.
Amen.
Please reflect upon the kingdom and the power and the glory that is God's and is God's.
Pray and be with him while he reveals this to you in the most intimate way.
You have such a wonderful relationship with God.
He adores you.
You are his child.
Allow him to reveal this amazing kingdom.
Thank you that his power is available.
This glory is forever.
It's for you.
It's him.
It is love.
Such peace.
Such joy.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
I pray that this prayer be available to you always throughout your days and nights.
Keep it close to your heart.
And may the Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
Amen.
Breathe.
Move your hands and feet around.
Stretch.
And open your eyes if you wish to keep going on with your activities.
If you wish to sleep or rest,
Please continue to listen to the music.
Drift off in the arms of Jesus.
I love you,
But he loves you infinitely more.
God bless.
Amen.
Amen.

Heart and soul felt. Beautiful, Thank you so much for your love relationship with Jesus/God. A previous comment stated the sound quality was poor. I donโt believe itโs the sound quality however when you move into the prayer you move very deeply and your voice and begins to whisper. It may be challenging for some to hear it clearly for it resonates a different tone. ๐น๐
