Welcome to this meditation.

Yoga Nidra is a form of Tantra.

It is not sleeping.

It is not concentration.

It is opening the inner chambers of your mind.

In Yoga Nidra you step down into the internal dimension of your consciousness.

Even if you do not understand anything in Yoga Nidra,

It does not matter.

The sound of my voice acts as a rope.

Just as you take a rope and go in and out of the depth of the cave,

So with the help of the sound you will venture in and out of the mind.

Yoga Nidra is practiced laying down in a Shavasana pose.

So please lay down on your back,

Body in one straight line,

Legs apart,

Arms away from the body,

Palms facing up.

Get ready for the practice.

Gently close your eyes and still the body.

The mind is in the mood to relax.

You are not trying to concentrate.

Make no effort to control the mind.

You are practicing Yoga Nidra.

Become aware of your whole body.

The whole atmosphere is charged with a powerful vibration of intention to practice.

In this atmosphere you are laying on your mat.

Your body is still.

Your breath is rhythmic,

Spontaneous and naturally calm.

Your body is in a state of relaxation.

Now say mentally to yourself,

I am practicing Yoga Nidra.

I am awake.

I am connected to external world by the sound of the voice giving me instructions.

In this point a sankalpa has to be made.

The sankalpa is a resolution.

It is a short positive statement symbolizing something that you truly desire to come true in your life.

If you can think of one,

Do it now.

Start with the words I AM.

Great sankalpa is the resolve to awaken Kundalini,

Your life force energy.

If you already have a sankalpa,

Please repeat it mentally three times now.

But if you need one,

You can use this sankalpa.

I am awakening my Kundalini.

Now we will do a gentle rotation of awareness around your body.

Just follow my guidance.

Do not try to analyze things and do not concentrate too intensely.

Keep your eyes closed and your body still and relaxed.

Do not move.

I will be naming different parts of the body and you simply shift your attention to that body part.

Let's begin.

Upper abdomen,

Pelvis,

Right leg,

Left leg,

Right arm,

Left arm,

The whole of the head,

The whole body.

Become aware of the whole body.

The whole body.

Become aware of the body laying on the floor.

There is a point where the body is in contact with the floor.

Bring your awareness to that particular point of contact.

The heels and the floor.

Both heels are on the floor and there is a point where they touch the floor.

Now from the top of the body.

The head and the floor.

The back and the floor.

The right hand and the floor.

The left hand and the floor.

The right elbow and the floor.

The left elbow and the floor.

The buttocks and the floor.

The hamstrings and the floor.

Feel all the meeting points of the body and the floor.

The body is on the floor.

Become aware of the whole body.

Now feel your body becoming very heavy.

Become the idea of heaviness in the body.

Gradually feel that the body is becoming heavier and heavier.

The head is becoming heavy.

The right palm is heavy.

The left palm is heavy.

Both arms and the groin are heavy.

The right thigh is heavy.

The left thigh is heavy.

Both kneecaps are heavy.

Both legs are heavy.

Both arms are heavy.

The whole of the head is heavy.

Eyes are heavy.

Lips are heavy.

The whole body is heavy as if it is made out of the stone.

Keep on feeling that the whole body is heavy.

Intensify the feeling of heaviness.

And then gradually relax part by part.

Now feel the whole body becoming lighter and lighter.

The head is light,

So light that it can even rise from the floor.

The right palm is light.

The left palm is light.

Both arms and both shoulders are light.

The buttocks and the groin are light.

The right thigh is light.

The left thigh is light.

The right heel and the left heel are light.

Both legs are light.

The whole body is light and weightless.

You feel as if it is floating above the floor.

As if your whole body is made out of cotton.

Intensify the feeling of lightness.

Cotton represents lightness and a stone represents heaviness.

Now practice those two experiences alternately.

The whole body is a stone.

The whole body is a stone.

Your muscles,

Bones,

Organs are made out of stone.

Your whole body is just a big,

Heavy stone.

Change the idea.

The whole body is cotton.

The whole body is as light as cotton.

There are no bones,

Muscles or even organs.

Everything is composed of cotton.

The whole body is as light as cotton.

Feel as if the body can float in the air like a cotton cloud.

Now bring on the sensation of heat.

Imagine you are exposed to the hot tropical sun in the middle of the day and you feel intense heat.

There is no shade and you are feeling very hot.

The whole body is hot.

Your skin is burning from the heat.

Awaken the experience of heat as vividly as possible.

Change the experience.

The whole body is experiencing cold winds that blow from the snowy mountains.

The same cold one feels in a deep freezer.

Your body is exposed to extreme cold.

You start shivering.

You are so cold that you can't feel your toes,

Your fingers,

The tip of your nose.

You are very cold.

Experience this cold sensation in your bones.

Awaken the experience of cold.

Now release all of the sensations and return to your normal sensation of the body laying on the floor.

Bring your attention to the eyebrow center and do not leave that point until I tell you to.

I will enumerate a few objects and as I name each one,

Try to visualize it very quickly.

If you cannot,

Do not worry.

Keep on following my instructions.

Sometimes I will go very slowly and sometimes very fast.

I might also come back to the image a number of times.

Some of the images may be known to you but do not think too much.

The image should shine by itself.

Keep your awareness in the eyebrow center.

Visualize.

Darkness.

Pink rose.

Waves on the ocean.

Blue sky in the evening.

Dark night.

Tiny shining stars studden in the heavens.

High mountain range with snow capped peaks.

A ship sailing on the high seas.

White sandy beach.

Virgin forest with tall and dense trees.

A dove.

A galloping horse.

A small hut in the woods.

Burning fire in the bush.

Stormy night.

Full moon.

Mountain.

Stream.

A lonely rock in the mountains.

Big garden of blooming flowers.

Rising sun.

Keep your awareness focused on the eyebrow center.

Visualize a large lake with lotus flowers.

A sailing boat.

People swimming.

A lonely wooden hut in the mountains.

A desolate valley.

A high mountain with snow capped peaks.

A quiet evening.

Beautiful sunset.

Sound of a bell ringing.

Waves on the ocean.

Experience of exhilaration or happiness.

Now become aware of the breath.

Inhale through the left nostril and exhale through the right.

Start the practice mental alternate nostril breathing.

Left in,

Right out.

Right in,

Left out.

Continue by yourself.

Alternate nostril breathing.

You can control your breath mentally only with your power of mind.

Continue breathing with alternate nostrils.

Your mind is more powerful than you think.

Relax your breathing and come back to the middle of the eyebrows again.

Visualize the rising sun,

Red like a tomato,

Clouds gathering in the sky,

Drizzling rain,

Fog all around,

Pink rose,

Sunflower,

Apple,

Lychee sleeve,

Hot water spring,

Tall pine tree,

Cluster of grapes,

Symbol of om,

Lonely wooden hut in the valley,

Snow capped peaks,

Mountain stream,

Cold bath,

Sheep at sail in the sea,

Lotus on a lake,

People swimming.

Now to complete the practice become aware of the whole body.

Visualize your whole body and the space around you.

Become aware of your external environment.

Notice sounds,

Smells.

Become aware of yourself.

Repeat your sankalpa mentally three times.

Repeat the same sankalpa you've made in the beginning of the practice.

If you haven't had yours,

Use the one I suggested – I am awakening my Kundalini.

Repeat it now to yourself.

Feel your body from the top of the head to the tips of the toes.

Slowly move your fingers,

Wiggle your toes,

Take a slow deep stretch and gently open your eyes.

Come out of the spirit of Yoga Nidra and return to normal awareness.

You have a beautiful day ahead of you.

The practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.

Namaste.

Hard to not sleep. Getting mixed messages about how it’s OK to sleep during yoga Nidra and other sessions indicate that not falling asleep as intention. Either way. my body needed sleep and I am grateful for you and your work!🏔💗🏔
