This loving kindness (metta) meditation will take you into a practice of sending love to others, the world and yourself. This is a powerful practice used to cultivate a sense of love and peace within your heart and soul.

Transcript

When you're ready,

Getting all comfortable either in a seated position or lying down on a comfortable surface.

Just take a moment to lengthen your spine,

Roll your shoulders down your back,

Closing down the eyes.

Feeling yourself become aware of your body and your breath.

Tuning in to your internal environment.

Letting every muscle soften down towards the earth.

Relaxing the muscles in your face and around your eyes.

Letting your jaw soften and release.

Just taking a few deep cleansing breaths in through the nose,

Filling your lungs all the way to the top and sighing out through your mouth.

Letting go of any tension you've been holding on to.

Taking a few more deep cleansing breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Feeling your shoulders drop away from your ears.

Letting your hands gently rest on your knees or on your thighs.

Bringing your attention to your breath,

Noticing your chest rise and fall with each inhale and exhale.

Letting your mind settle in and relax and let go.

Just allowing yourself this time and this space to focus on your breath and your body.

Letting go of any tension you've been holding on to.

Feeling the rays of this light pour down over the top of your head,

Over your face,

Melting down like honey slowly over each muscle and relaxing every muscle as it moves down your neck,

Over your shoulders,

Down your arms,

All the way into your hands.

Maybe you feel a warming,

Tingling sensation in your hands.

Just taking a nice deep inhale.

Letting this healing light move down your chest,

Over your heart,

Wrapping around each organ and muscle in your stomach.

Letting down your lower back and your spine,

Letting each muscle soften and let go.

Letting this light cascade over your thighs,

Moving down over your knees,

Around your calves and your feet,

All the way to the big toes,

Moving into each toe.

Feeling this healing white light,

Taking a nice deep breath into your feet.

Letting your entire body illuminated with this healing white light.

Feeling it into your heart space,

Into your heart chakra.

Feeling this ball of light in your heart space,

Growing brighter with each inhale.

Bringing to mind someone in your life that you really,

Truly love.

Picturing them in front of you,

Sending this healing white energy towards their heart.

Repeating in your mind,

May you be happy,

May you be healthy,

May you be free from suffering.

Taking a nice deep inhale into your heart.

Sending your love to this person.

Picturing every being on the planet,

From the animals and the forests,

To your neighbor,

To someone on the other side of the earth.

Sending them love from the healing ball of energy in your heart space.

Letting your entire body illuminated with this healing white light.

Sending your love to every being on the planet.

And exhale.

Sending your love.

Sending your peace.

As you take your next deep inhale,

Feeling that ball of energy in your heart grow brighter and brighter.

Send this love to yourself.

Repeating,

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be free from suffering.

Maybe placing your hands over your heart,

Sending your self love and gratitude.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be free from suffering.

Taking a nice deep inhale into your heart.

Feeling your entire body up with this loving intelligence.

Knowing you can always come back to this feeling,

To this space.

Bringing your awareness back to your breath.

Taking a nice deep inhale and exhaling out through your mouth.

Soaking in this feeling.

On your next inhale,

Sweeping your arms up towards the sky.

Bringing your palms down to rest at heart center.

You deserve all the love and happiness in the world.

So send yourself some love and some kindness today.

Stay here as long as you need.
