Namaste.

Welcome to your meditation today.

My name is Gil Elhart and I'll be guiding you through a meditation about connection.

As I speak right now,

My cat Mona is laying on my lap and it inspired me to think about how connected we are to all living things.

Take a moment now and get comfortable for your meditation.

Begin to observe your breath.

Allow your breath to enter into a state of flow.

You have just enough awareness on your breath to help expand it,

But not so much control that it's requiring all your mental effort.

Now expand your perspective to include others in your life and see how you're connected with them,

How your thoughts,

Your actions impact their lives and vice versa.

Take some time now to continue to expand this perspective and feel how you are connected.

Release the breath.

Staying with your breath shift your attention to connections that you have with your environment the earth that supports you as you walk as you stand as you sit the earth is the foundation of your home of your workplace it is the root and foundation for everything and now allow your awareness to expand what the earth includes vegetation animals who live upon it so we can see how our connection is not only with the earth itself but all of its inhabitants all that lives and grows from the earth's energy your connection to these things growing your awareness of the connection you you staying with your breath feeling how you were deeply connected with all living things that come from the earth it is from the earth's resources that the products that we use that the food that we eat also comes from so if your eyes are closed open them for just a moment and take in your surroundings see the items that you might have hanging on your wall the object you may be sitting upon the floor the wall itself the ceiling the light fixture or fixtures all of these items made from resources that stem from the earth you are connected even to these inanimate objects through your connection to the earth continue to expand how you feel connected to all things that are created you staying with your breath feel how you were connected to the food that you eat if you have the beauty of being able to grow any of your own food and you know that connection well the experiencing of reaping what you sow planting the seeds of cultivating and harvesting this food and then bringing it to your plate many of us don't have this opportunity in our lives but nonetheless we are still connected to the food that we eat there is somewhere a farmer who is growing the food or feeding the food that we are eating cultivating harvesting and the food is taken from the farm and brought to the stores perhaps where we are buying the food we select the food and bring it into our home and prepare it and eat it we are still connected to the food that we eat allow your awareness to stay connected to how you eat the food as well eating the food with a sense of vitality with no rush no anticipation for your next thing to do this will help you feel your connection to your food even if you're unable to grow it feeling that we are connected to our food helps the food become more vital within us you you feeling the movement of your breath staying with your breath bring your attention to the animals perhaps your pets like my kitten who is laying on my lap you have perhaps pets or people in your life that you love that love you unconditionally let your awareness expand around the people and animals and offer you love that you love holy from the very core of your heart and hold them in your awareness now and how you were connected to them perhaps what brought them into your life or brought you to them there was already a connection before you even met and now this bond grows stronger as you understand how deeply connected you are you allowing your breath again to move with freedom and ease in your body give thanks for these connections connections that you've enhanced today through this meditation connections that you share with all living things sometimes we may feel disconnected in our lives this is normal this is human and natural but a simple practice to realign with how deeply connected we are to the people the place or places in our lives the pets animals all of the Earth's beings including the food that we eat the objects that we use or live with there's a deep connection to all things so feeling this connection as you move through the remainder of your day will help you stay connected with your breath and more in tune with the flow of life and others who are in your life I hope this meditation serves you well thank you so much for listening and joining me today namaste
