Welcome.
Today's practice is a guided chakra meditation.
The intention of this practice is to release any holding or negative patterns and to create space for peace and lightness of being.
This is a great weekly practice as it promotes overall well-being.
Although I will provide you with a small amount of background information on the chakras,
It is not important to have detailed understanding to receive benefit from this meditation.
This is about energy and feeling rather than intellect.
Although there are many other chakra centers within the whole of our being,
In regards to chakra meditation,
We'll talk about the seven main ones that are most associated with our physical,
Emotional,
Mental,
And spiritual being,
With each one related to a specific aspect of our lives.
Chakra means wheel or turning.
A chakra operates like a powerhouse in the way that it generates and stores energy,
With energy from the cosmos pulled in more strongly at these points.
The drain of a bathtub can be used to illustrate how the chakras work.
When the plug is removed from a bathtub full of water,
The water is sucked into the drainpipe,
And the rotating water forms a vortex.
This is how a chakra functions.
In the same way as water being sucked into a drainpipe forms a whirlpool,
Cosmic energy is drawn into the chakras in a circular motion and guided towards the next point of intersection.
This cosmic radiation influences and guides our feelings,
Thoughts,
And emotions.
When we open and harmonize the chakras with meditation,
We also influence and balance the physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
And spiritual qualities associated with them.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable seat.
Take a moment to get it just right so that you can become still and quiet.
Once you've found your seat,
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Let the breath go through your mouth,
Releasing anything that came before this moment.
Feel the steadiness of your seat,
The lift of your heart,
And the overall sense of ease in your body.
Take several cycles of breath,
Allowing yourself to arrive fully.
Imagine the radiant golden light of the sun,
A light so bright that no other light approaches its brilliance.
Feel the warmth of this light.
Recognize that the same light exists within you.
Through this practice,
You're simply allowing this light to get brighter.
This light brings with it clarity,
Insight,
And healing.
Bring your attention to the crown of your head.
This is the seat of the seventh chakra,
Sahasrara,
Which means thousand-fold lotus.
