Chakra meditation is a form of meditation that consists of a set of relaxation techniques focused on bringing balance, relaxation and well-being to the chakras, or energy centers housed within our energetic field. Our beautiful and mysterious universe distributes its divine life-force energy to the earth and to our glands and organs located throughout the body and bloodstream. This life-force energy is key in order to obtaining optimum well being and health. It’s believed that since the chakras are interrelated, they closely affect one another. This meditation will help achieve the optimum level of balance in our chakra system.

Welcome.

Today's practice is a guided chakra meditation.

The intention of this practice is to release any holding or negative patterns and to create space for peace and lightness of being.

This is a great weekly practice as it promotes overall well-being.

Although I will provide you with a small amount of background information on the chakras,

It is not important to have detailed understanding to receive benefit from this meditation.

This is about energy and feeling rather than intellect.

Although there are many other chakra centers within the whole of our being,

In regards to chakra meditation,

We'll talk about the seven main ones that are most associated with our physical,

Emotional,

Mental,

And spiritual being,

With each one related to a specific aspect of our lives.

Chakra means wheel or turning.

A chakra operates like a powerhouse in the way that it generates and stores energy,

With energy from the cosmos pulled in more strongly at these points.

The drain of a bathtub can be used to illustrate how the chakras work.

When the plug is removed from a bathtub full of water,

The water is sucked into the drainpipe,

And the rotating water forms a vortex.

This is how a chakra functions.

In the same way as water being sucked into a drainpipe forms a whirlpool,

Cosmic energy is drawn into the chakras in a circular motion and guided towards the next point of intersection.

This cosmic radiation influences and guides our feelings,

Thoughts,

And emotions.

When we open and harmonize the chakras with meditation,

We also influence and balance the physical,

Mental,

Emotional,

And spiritual qualities associated with them.

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable seat.

Take a moment to get it just right so that you can become still and quiet.

Once you've found your seat,

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and exhale.

Let the breath go through your mouth,

Releasing anything that came before this moment.

Feel the steadiness of your seat,

The lift of your heart,

And the overall sense of ease in your body.

Take several cycles of breath,

Allowing yourself to arrive fully.

Imagine the radiant golden light of the sun,

A light so bright that no other light approaches its brilliance.

Feel the warmth of this light.

Recognize that the same light exists within you.

Through this practice,

You're simply allowing this light to get brighter.

This light brings with it clarity,

Insight,

And healing.

Bring your attention to the crown of your head.

This is the seat of the seventh chakra,

Sahasrara,

Which means thousand-fold lotus.

It is the source of creation and infinite pure light.

Imagine the golden light of the sun drawn in through the crown of your head.

This chakra connects us to an awareness of our oneness with Source,

Integration of the whole,

Living in the now,

Meaning,

Devotion,

And inspiration.

Sense these qualities inside of you expanding as you expand the golden light at the crown of your head.

Draw your attention down to the center of your brow,

To your third eye.

This is the seat of the sixth chakra,

Ajna chakra.

This chakra is linked to inner vision,

Unity perspective,

Divine understanding,

Discernment,

Wisdom,

Intuition,

And intelligence.

Draw down from the crown of your head this golden light into your brow center.

As you expand this light,

Expand these qualities in your being.

Feel this light reach behind your eyes.

Feel your inner gaze get brighter.

Continue to expand this golden light.

Bring your attention to the circumference of your throat,

Front,

Sides,

And back.

This is the seat of the fifth chakra,

Vishuddha chakra.

It is linked to speaking and hearing the truth,

Taking responsibility for our own needs,

Surrendering our will,

Existing source,

Decision making,

Personal authority,

And our ability to manifest our creative impulses.

Draw the golden light from your brow down into your throat.

Feel the warmth and the brilliance of this light.

Allow this light to expand.

Bring your attention to your heart.

This is the seat of the fourth chakra,

Anahata.

It is located at the center of the chest.

This chakra is linked to love,

Love in its unconditional form.

Compassion,

Confidence,

Trust,

And inspiration.

Draw the golden light from your throat down into your heart.

Allow this golden light to fill the space of your chest,

Front,

Sides,

And back.

Feel the healing power of this light as it expands.

Bring your attention to your solar plexus,

Located just above your navel and below your lower ribs.

This is the seat of the third chakra,

Manipura.

It is linked to our internalized parent,

The shoulds,

Our self-esteem,

Reaction to criticism,

Personal power,

And ego,

Our sense of an individual,

Separate self.

This is the seat of our identity,

How we see ourselves in relationship to the world around us.

Draw the golden light from your heart to your solar plexus.

Feel this light expand and radiate from your center in all directions.

Feel the glow of this light warm your entire being.

Keep expanding this light with each breath.

Bring your attention to the space just below your navel.

This is the seat of the second chakra,

Svadhisthana.

This chakra is linked to our inner child,

Our sense of fluidity,

Creativity,

Adaptability,

And spontaneity.

Draw the golden light from your solar plexus to the space just below your navel.

Feel this light expand through the contents of your lower abdomen.

Feel the healing power of this light simply by bringing your attention to it.

Anything that is stuck or blocked begins to move.

Bring your attention to the base of your spine.

This is the seat of the first chakra,

Muladhara.

This chakra is linked to our connection and loyalty to our tribe or our family,

As well as to fellow human beings,

All beings upon this planet and our connection with Mother Earth.

Physical groundedness,

Survival instincts,

And stability.

Draw the golden light from just below your navel to the base of your spine.

Feel this light expand through your legs and all the way down into your feet.

As you expand this light,

Feel your connection to the earth.

Feel the stability of your seat,

A grounded presence in your body.

Feel this golden light now through the whole of your being.

Each breath expanding this light.

You need do nothing for this energy of this light to provide healing and wholeness,

Insight and clarity.

Simply rest into it.

The splendor of this light is always with you.

Take as long as you would like to bask in the glow of this light.

When you are ready to close,

Simply bring your hands to your heart and bow your head in acknowledgement of this time.

Take this light with you into the remainder of your day.

Namaste.
