Trusting In The Alchemy Of Sharing

This practice eminates from the Fifth Step of the Twelve Steps. You're invited to think of sharing your life's most intimate details with your higher power and another person who exhibits the qualities of trust and openness. While we are reflecting on who that might be, we finally feel able to begin the journey of sharing our story with that person, who it's revealed has been there too. It is the first chink in the armour of our isolation that sets us free to venture further ... free at last.

See yourself going to talk to someone,

Someone you trust.

That in itself could take some clear,

Honest soul-searching.

Somebody who you trust.

Someone who you think you'll be able to share your inventory with.

Someone who can keep a secret.

Someone who's compassionate.

But also pretty straightforward.

You know that person.

Just think about it.

Hmm.

Well,

Don't think too much,

Because it may not be who you think.

It's more who you're attracted to,

That sort of special quality.

Trust that your higher power is saying,

Talk to this person and go and ask them.

Now,

When you've decided to do that,

Go to that person.

Take your higher power with you to the door.

And enter into that room with your higher power there with you and that other person.

And find with that special energy,

You can allow magic to happen.

You can be totally honest and open.

And that the presence of this divine energy will be there and the alchemy can begin.

As you both set a change in motion.

Yes,

It's a beginning.

It's a big beginning.

But trust that you won't be led to where you need to go.

Let fear slip away.

Let your connection be bright.

And enjoy the process.

Let go of the fear.

Bathe in the light.

Come back to your cushion.
