Fear,
F-E-A-R,
False evidence appearing real.
Sometimes when one gets overwhelmed,
One can be so stressed,
You can find yourself in fight or flight mode.
You may have been making something so important that you convinced yourself that you know all the angles and even the final outcome.
One becomes so sensitive,
Now you find yourself prone to have that button light up.
The imagination.
Imagination is a wonderful thing,
But sometimes it can overwork,
Especially when it's a stressful situation or when we're lacking sleep or proper nourishment.
Those things tend to happen when we have a deadline to make.
That strange word deadline,
It kind of implies burnout in itself.
So let's take a step back from that dark hole you're going down,
The fear hole,
And imagine all those things that are appearing real may not be quite so real,
But are your fears coming up?
You have a vivid imagination and it's working over time.
So let's turn this around.
Notice your body and how you're reacting.
Just notice how easy it is to get into overdrive and just make a decision to be present for the next five minutes.
Feel and ground as you bring awareness to your feet.
Feel the gravitational pull of the earth underneath your feet.
This pull is so active that you can even feel it all the way up in the most elevated high rise.
Let your breath out with this sigh and then breathe in the beautiful oxygen that the plants so freely give us.
Feel your feet breathing in.
Notice your palms,
Release their grip,
Relax.
Suggest a feeling of openness and release the breath.
Place your hands over your heart and belly.
Allow your body to receive the breath and how nourishing it is as you invited it in.
Feel it circulating throughout the body.
Slowly let the muscles relax.
And if you're feeling stressed,
Let that out breath be a little bit longer than the inbreath.
Repeat at your own pace.
Feel the openness in your body.
Trust in yourself and find a little more compassion for yourself.
Know you are fully capable.
Notice how your mind and heart like to work in union with each other.
There's no need to be afraid.
Keep breathing and allow space for the present.
Let the story go.
Stay a little longer,
Feeling the expansion of your heightened awareness.
Trust the process that you could make a choice and follow through.
Dissolve your expectations and let go.
Say I'm fully capable to do what I need to do.
I can choose to take an action now.
Or perhaps I need more information to feel confident in my choice of action.
Now ask for guidance,
For the wisdom to know the difference of what you should do.
Be grateful for inner guidance.
Be grateful to be able to listen to your heart with a clear mind.
Come back.
Feel your body,
Wiggle your toes and stretch your fingers.
Slowly smile and breathe and know you've got choices.
How wonderful.
Doesn't mean you have to act on any of them,
But you have choices.
