I'd like to welcome you to this short meditation practice for overwhelm.
When I notice feelings of overwhelm in my body or my mind,
I like to ask myself this one question.
What's one simple thing I can notice right now?
Whatever comes into your mind first,
I invite you to trust that.
And if you can,
Gently draw your awareness there and with as much ease as possible,
Focus on that one simple thing that you've chosen.
What's the one simple thing I can notice right now?
Seeing if you can be really curious about that which you've chosen to meditate on.
Really focusing on it as if it's the most important thing right now.
You may find that your mind is getting easily pulled away by other sensations or sounds or thoughts and that's okay.
Just asking ourselves again,
What's one simple thing I can notice right now?
And gently drawing our attention there.
You have more than enough time to spend these moments focusing on that one simple thing.
As we draw to the end of this meditation,
Today,
Noticing how our bodies and our minds feel now.
Do we need to spend longer with that one simple thing?
Or do we feel ready now to return to our day?
So what your body is telling you.
What's the one simple thing I can notice right now?
This is a question that you can ask yourself throughout your day as many times as you want to.
Whatever you are and whatever you're doing,
What's the one simple thing I can notice right now?
You can ask yourself,
What's the one simple thing I can notice right now?
What's the one simple thing I can notice right now?
