Hello,
I'm Rhys Jones and welcome to this Sleep Talk Town and Lucid Dream incubation recording.
Today I'll be guiding you through the process of relaxing your mind,
Preparing yourself for sleep and then,
Once your mind space has been softened,
Sowing the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night.
In this particular recording,
The Sleep Talk Town theme will be autogenic training and the Lucid Dream incubation theme will be a meeting with the gods.
Please note,
You're free to fall asleep at any part of this recording.
So,
When you begin to feel tired,
Don't hesitate to follow that feeling.
If that happens during the Sleep Talk Town,
That's fine.
If it doesn't happen until the Lucid Dream incubation,
That's also fine.
First and foremost,
Prioritize falling to sleep.
Do not wait for my permission to do so.
So,
Follow my words until you begin to feel drowsy,
At which point,
Allow yourself to let go and gently drift away.
And so,
To begin,
Please turn off all of your lights,
Lay down on your bed and get into a position that you feel comfortable with,
Either on your belly,
On your side or on your back,
Whichever position feels best to you.
Adopt it now and then make any final adjustments you need in order to feel fully settled.
For example,
Perhaps you'd like to fluff your pillow or maybe you'd like to stretch your legs and then snuggle into your comforter nice and tight.
Whatever makes you feel safe and snug should be done now.
If you haven't already,
You should now close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out.
Take another deep breath in and out.
Then,
Allow your breath to settle into a normal rhythm,
Not forcing it to go one way or another.
Today's sleep talkdown will focus on autogenic training.
Autogenic training is,
In essence,
A type of relaxation therapy.
The session will consist of me repeating statements to you,
One at a time,
That will have a soothing effect on your body and mind.
After I present each statement,
I'll then take a moment of silence and allow you to repeat the statement to yourself quietly in your mind.
As you do,
I want you to feel yourself leaning in to the belief that the meaning behind these words hold weight and let that belief cradle you into a soft slumber.
The words on their own are mere sounds,
Just symbols,
But the emotions you cultivate from them have a power to serenade.
And so,
We'll now begin.
We'll start with the phrase,
The phrase,
My heartbeat is calm and regular.
I'll repeat this phrase a few times and then there'll be a moment of silence.
And within that silence,
I want you to continue saying the phrase to yourself in your mind.
My heartbeat is calm and regular.
My heartbeat is calm and regular.
My heartbeat is calm and regular.
Now,
Over to you.
Let's now move on to the second phrase.
My eyelids feel soft and relaxed.
Again,
I'll repeat this phrase a few times then there'll be a moment of silence.
And within that silence,
I want you to continue saying the phrase to yourself in your mind.
My eyelids feel soft and relaxed.
My eyelids feel soft and relaxed.
My eyelids feel soft and relaxed.
Over to you.
So,
Let's carry on and introduce a third phrase now.
I feel serene and peaceful,
Just like before.
I'll repeat this phrase a few times out loud,
I'll take a moment of silence.
Within that space,
I open up for you.
I want you to continue saying the phrase to yourself in your mind.
I feel serene and peaceful.
I feel serene and peaceful.
I feel serene and serene and peaceful.
Over to you.
At this point,
Notice how you're starting to feel very relaxed.
And so,
We'll continue on,
This time introducing another phrase.
My mind is still and quiet,
In the same way as before.
I'll repeat this phrase three times to begin.
And then,
I'll open up the floor to you to continue the mantra in your own mind.
My mind is still and quiet.
My mind is still and quiet.
My mind is still and quiet.
Over to you.
We'll now introduce the final phrase.
My body is at rest and I'm ready for sleep.
The process will repeat just like before.
I'll say the phrase three times,
Then open up a space for you to continue the mantra in your own mind.
My body is at rest and I'm ready for sleep.
My body is at rest and I'm ready for sleep.
My body is at rest and I'm ready for sleep.
Over to you.
You are now in a supremely relaxed state,
Relaxed state,
Either sleeping or on the edge of sleeping.
And so,
We're ready to begin incubating a lucid dream for later on in the night.
By following along with my words and visualizing them as you go,
You'll prime yourself to draw upon these very same images during REM.
There's no need to follow along strictly,
Just continue relaxing and allow my words to wash over you.
Whatever images come,
Come.
And even if you're now asleep,
Know that your subconscious will soak these words in and store them for later.
So,
Let's begin.
You come to by a large oak tree.
Sitting down,
Your back pressed up against the bark.
You feel calm.
The bark is firm but supportive.
And you feel connected to the tree.
I'm dreaming,
You think,
Not missing a beat.
Sometimes lucidity is so elusive,
Slipping through your fingertips like running water.
And other times it's just there,
Obvious and penetrating.
A feeling,
A sense,
A knowing.
This is one of those times.
And so,
You get to your feet,
Mind alive with intrigue for what the dreamscape has to offer you tonight.
Tonight's lucid dream dream is so vibrant,
So clear and defined.
And as you walk from one forest grove to the next,
A feeling of wonderment overcomes you.
You traverse over huge logs,
Moving aside lush overgrowth.
You duck under low hanging branches and scurry forward in a squat.
You explore,
Explore,
Explore.
Sometimes a lucid dream doesn't have to be anything more than that.
Sometimes exploration alone is enough.
But then,
Suddenly,
Stopping you in your tracks,
Appears a huge creature,
Emerging from the ground,
Both awesome and humbling.
Its eyes glow a magnificent green and huge antlers sprout out from its head like strange interdimensional wings.
Curiously,
You approach.
At the feet of this great beast,
You feel irreverence and,
For a moment,
You almost lose lucidity.
Remember you're dreaming,
You say out loud.
Even knowing that you're dreaming,
Though,
You feel as if you're in the presence of something.
Something else.
Something not entirely you.
Or perhaps something so truly you that it's unrecognizable.
As you look up at the creature,
You notice its skin is made of bark and it's covered in foliage.
It's some sort of forest dragon.
No,
Some sort of dragon god.
Thank you for inviting me,
It says,
Looking down at you kindly.
Thank you for inviting me in.
And now,
The scene around you changes,
But the creature does not.
You continue gazing into its bright green eyes as the background turns from green forest to blue sky to yellow beach,
And back to green forest.
You feel out of control of this cascading movement,
So you ride the wave,
Letting it take you where it wants to take you.
From green forest to green forest to blue crystal cave to a shimmering silver cityscape,
Then back to green forest.
Are you doing this?
You ask the creature,
Awed at the kaleidoscopic spectacle.
From green forest to pink sky to a rainy night atop a skyscraper,
Then back to green forest.
We are,
Yes,
It says back without actually saying a word.
From green forest to a mysterious turquoise swamp to the moon setting heavy and cycling,
Then back to green forest.
Like gods,
We create.
